So, it has been quite a while... first I was rather distracted by Baldur's Gate 3 and my job, then I didn't want to post anything until I had something worth recommending. But I did play several games over the last half a year, so I'm in the process of updating my
post - below the bdsm-games I played with my reviews.
Cosy Cafe 5/5
Early version (0.6.1) - has the bdsm, male domination and slave tag. Is a kinetic novel, so you don't really make decisions.
Rather promising so far - the girls are all rather easy and really impressed by simple compliments, but considering some of their circumstances it seems almost believable.
Pretty bdsm-focused - all of the girls so far seem to have a submissive streak - so far we got domination, light bondage and light spanking, some petplay in the future gets teased. Relationships are consensual and romantic.
I definitely enjoyed it and look forward to future updates.
Children of Morn 0/5
I played it because it's from the same creator as
Mist and that had some sweet male domination stuff. Has the female and male domination tag. Sadly it seems the v0.3 is too early. Pretty much all the content is vanilla. There are some hints with the second heroine as she seems to be unable to refuse any of your orders, but nothing came of it so far.
Plot is the MC got killed and revived by a witch and is trying to help her get her revenge against her sister, who is an inquisitor. You also try to find your lost memories. Also contains demons (aka monstergirls). So far only two/three (out of six?) heroines were introduced.
Seems a bit personaish when it comes to recruit demons - you need to conquer a dungeon created by the summoner's subconscious. Seems interesting but there is not much content yet. I'll definitely keep an eye on it in the future though.
Damaged Goods 0/5
Abandoned and for good reason - has the bdsm, male domination and female domination tags. Is complete garbage - the dialogue is stilted and wooden, the characters ramble stupid shit (in the beginning I thought it was supposed to be tongue in cheek, but no, the creator seems to think it makes his characters seem sophisticated if they keep rambling about pseudophilosophic bullshit).
MC is female, choices exist, but don't matter too much and the bdsm content is at best some light domination and some light spanking. Good riddance.
Project ATMOSPHERE 1/5
Seemed to be an interesting sci-fi story from the description, it had the bdsm and female domination tags, had decent ratings and the screenshots looked pretty so I gave it a try.
Sadly both dialogue and writing is stilted and wooden - it seems the creator's native language is russian and they don't have a native speaker on board. I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it, so I mostly just skimmed through it.
Like the tags said, it's mostly a femdom game, most scenes are vanilla, msub/fdom or playing gimp to fdom/fsub.
Since bad writing is a pretty strong turnoff for me I won't play that game in the future and can't recommend it.
Come Home 1/5
v6.15.1 - Sandbox visual novel (with a very nice feature that makes it almost impossible to miss anything). The MC's father goes missing, so MC returns to his hometown to help his family and find his father. Story is pretty linear, you just decide in which order you do things and whether you want to start or end a storyline. Has bdsm, male domination and female domination tags. Has a shitton of characters (20 Characters, among them one gay relationship and one transsexual - as always all characters focus on different charactertraits or/and fetishes)
Sadly once again having so many different characters means that each gets only limited attention. Characters were all interesting and at times the storylines were suprisingly mature or funny.
Bdsm wise there were just 2 characters - Mi-Cha is rather submissive (domination, light spanking, light bondage - but only has three scenes) and Mrs. Mills is a switch (femdom or femsub - also only three scenes each)
A lot of reading and the formula becomes rather rote after a while (call, ask questions about them, go on dates, have sex), but when the games focuses on unique scenes it is rather enjoyable.
Similar to a lot of other games (freshwomen, etc) but well written and enjoyable - still there are probably better bdsm games.
The Last Challenge 0/5
v0.1.3 - I tried it for the bdsm tag and the high rating - sadly it is still in the demo stage with very little content.
Visual novel with a male MC - plot is that you and your class were locked up in a valley for ten years due to a global pandemic - now you return home and you made stupid bet to sleep with all your family members.
The good - the creator managed to create a host of memorable and interesting characters and succeeded in introducing them all at the same time without them all merging into an indistinguishable mob. You feel all of them having years of history with each other. I enjoyed the humour but not everyone might.
The bad - little content so far (one real sexual encounter with several variations - nice guy, blackmail,...)
the risky - the creator seems to be pretty ambitious when it comes to the game's scope - time will tell whether they will succeed or whether we'll end up with another abandoned flop. Also has a lot of reading - I enjoy that but not everyone might.
A Shot in the Dark 1/5
0.25 - had the bdsm (and female domination) tag and a good rating, so I gave it a try. Sadly not really for me.
The models are rather pretty but the creator focuses too much on animations than on interesting scenes. Also the animations seem pretty uncanny valley to me sometimes. Not very much content so far and all pretty tame. Like the tags promised most of the bdsm content is femdom on msub (Paloma). There is one hypnosis bj-scene that seems interesting but I can't recall anything else. Also the MC is ridiculously cringy and shy - I understand the charm of character development and Chad McThundercock is also boring to me too but with this game I had to stop playing several times due to second-hand embarrassment.
I might come back to it in a year or two and check on it again, but at the moment not very interesting.
Thirty Days 1/5
4.93+ visual novel with the bdsm tag - not for me - another visual novel incest game. You choose whether to play as male or female, relative or not. Has a lot of variations and different stats and no flowchart guide. Since the game didn't interest me I might have missed scenes that need specific stats or points. What I saw was at best some light domination, light spanking an light bondage.
Ends on day 4 at the moment. As I write this post I'm realizing that I've forgotten most of the content.
So that's the fruits of the last half a year - the only game I'd actually recommend as a bdsm game is Cosy Cafe, and even that is still in its early phase.
