You have to not be on Jill or Josys path, IIRC. If on any of those two paths you must declare celebacy.
I realize the meanings have been blurred over time, but it's still a hill I will die on. Celibacy is the act of remaining unmarried. Not having sex falls under Chastity.

This is, in almost every way, the result of certain religions banning sex before marriage, where if one is celibate the de-facto assumption is that you are therefore chaste. This is also why it was considered a 'big deal' by some when priests were allowed to marry. The reality is that the priests were having plenty of sex before, but the inability to marry put any potential offspring under threat of damnation, for having been borne out of wedlock. It probably also helped by giving them an 'out', so that angry fathers didn't burn the churches to the ground. I'd like to imagine there was at least some consideration for the damage to the women's reputations, but historically speaking, they had very little consideration for anything other than their value in trade (i.e. marriage to others).

In game terms, the MC is celibate, no matter your decisions, and has most likely not been chaste. He's a whore. And that's A-OK, as long as he hasn't been banging goblins.:)

Theory: Stephen Burke is secretly a cuck. When he confronts MC and Jade with the pictures of them having sex, he forces them to fuck each other in front of him while he gets off on it.

God, that would be a really steamy scene, the humiliation MC and Jade would feel as they're forced to copulate while Stephen jerks off in a corner and directs the action:

Burke: "Yeah, lick her pussy...that's it. God, that's so fucking hot!"

Yes. He also spies on MС and Jade fucking in a hotel in episode 8. Jade says that it excites her when she is being watched, hinting apparently at Burke.

Celibacy is the vow to refrain from any sexual relations and marriage by priests and nuns and such. It's basicly a religious vow for chastity and not marrying.

Chastity is the state of refraining from any extra marital sex or all sexual intercourse. It's not a vow, it's behavior.
Technically you can be married, have sexual intercourse with your partner in marriage and you're still called "chast".

You cannot be celibate without being a church official, you can be a church official without being calibate.

I slam the Affinity system plenty, but choosing between Jill's picnic and Sage in Episode 7 has nothing to do with the game's morality meter (or even the backup morality meter). It's just a choice between the two girls. And frankly, being forced to choose is a good thing IMHO. The problem is that DPC got complacent and wrote the scene in such a way that not only is Jill's reaction to the MC choosing Sage preposterous, but as you note, there's an easy third option as well.
I really hate that choice. Not only it's a choice between two girls that can permanently block off one, it's only a one-way block, meaning that choosing Jill over Sage is literally the right answer, all things considered. I could have accepted it if choosing Jill blocked Sage too, but no, choosing Jill over Sage has no meaningful impact (-2 relationship with Sage does nothing - there aren't relationship score checks in the game anymore).

I agree with Ilhares on this, a few years back when I had french lessons I remember studying the origin of some words and one that we studied was célibataire. I don't remember its latin origin being directly related to religion. It just meant "unmarried" or "wifeless" and it was even used to describe widowed people if I recall correctly, so I don't think the word initially had anything to do with sex or religion.
But this is all just semantics, its meaning probably changed over time and both of you can be technically correct.

Language is descriptive not prescriptive and changes with the times. The origins don't matter if everyone uses it now to mean something else.

Doesn't the interlude, being season 3, have it's own save pages?

Either way, the only season 2 saves that matter are the ones you make at the end if episode 8 that's used to create the season 3 save.
That's what I wanted to know, I'm currently replaying through the game, I wanted clean unmodded saves. I remember the game talking about transferring your saves over to season 3. I wasn't sure if interlude actually is a continuation of the main story, albeit with new characters I probably don't care about, or just something DPC wanted to do, to avoid burning out on the existing story and cast.

So basically you are saying that you don't know what " Interlude " means and you can't be asked to find it out on your own... not that it wasn't explained here in the thread countless times... :p Welp figures...:KEK:

I Wish Riona and Quinn can be romanced in Season 3. I really like their character and the relationship you have with them.
If romance is off the table then I just hope the interactions get deeper in Season 3.
Love the game!
I completely agree. Riona seems like a deep character, would like to know more about her with some more intimate interactions.

All true. Also, fun fact, celibacy was against the law in Rome.
