What I find interesting (since all the DIK/Chick stats are not mutually exclusive as many people have multiple runs and earn all the stats), is the percentage of people who bought the game and never progressed past episode 1!

72% complete episode 1. That means over 25% of people who bought it never even played it or simply bailed before the end of the first episode.

It gets worse:

Only 65% completed episode 2.

And the attrition rate keeps increasing as you work down the episodes, reaching all the way down to only 23% completed episode 8.

Fucking !
You'd be surprised with how common that is, always has been with every kind of game, I remember a huge discussion about games' length arose when ubisoft revealed something like 60 or 70% of the people who bought assassins creed 2 never finished it.
I also have who knows how many games on steam that I never even touched, most because they were given to me for free in some way or another. Although this can't be the case for BaDIK since the game has never been given away anywhere as far as I'm aware.

Many people buy games and then ... don't play them. I even know one friend who bought a bunch of games that his weak laptop won't handle, but according to him he bought them "for the future". :WaitWhat:

Your definition is wrong. I'll give you a simple example. In the capital of my country, the mayoral elections are held in one round, no matter what the result is. The last mayor won the election with a result of 37% - this is considered a relative majority. Because the second round is not provided.
Again, that's a plurality, not a majority. And you only need a plurality, not a majority, to win in a first-past-the-post election system (which is basically what you described - the person with the most votes win, regardless of percentage).

You can claim my definition is wrong all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that what I said are the dictionary definition of majority vs plurality. You really should learn the difference if you are so interested in statistics.

"Most don't want to be DICK" is also wrong. How do you know? It's safe to say that "don't want to be DIK" only CHICK players.
It's most definitely not "safe to say" that. Your very own statistics bear it out. There are more people locked into in the neutral path than CHICK path.

According to your logic, the most correct would be to say there is no majority at all. Because you are now adding Neutral to the CHICK players and sculpting a majority of them that "does not like DIK". I can say the same thing "Most don't like Neutral" by combining DIK+CHICK or the vast majority don't like CHICK by combining DIK+ Neutral. This discussion of ours is meaningless.

Not just according to my logic, but it is the reality. It's absolutely ridiculous to think there are only 2 choices. Even DPC has said right from the beginning, when he was still around here, that there are 3 general paths - DIK, CHICK, and NEUTRAL.

And I've never claimed, as you did with the DIK choice, that there's a majority that preferred one way or another. I'm simply pointing out that there is no majority preference. And most of the time that's how the world works when presented with more than 2 options.

This is not a phenomenon unique to porn or DPC. Think about all the times you gave up on a book game or movie. Its probably not the majority of what you've consumed, but I know, ESPECIALLY as i get older, that i have to be selective with my time. If something seems like it sucks, I usually give up after a while. Its the entire reason adult VNs have a sex scene in the first chapter, eve if it doesn't make sense or ruins the build up. You need a hook. Its the same with mainstream media. Almost all films or novels have some sort of hook in the beginning just to keep people interested.

All right! Sorry DIKs, it may gonna be a looooong post.

After a terrible, horrible, disgusting year in which my last laptop died, I couldn't save my former playthrough (end of ep07). I finally made some space to play it all through again, from the beginning. Little bit hurt for The Friday Prophets departure when I strated it up for the first time in roughly a year, but it was as awesome if not more than the first time, getting emotional again, laughing at the same cheap jokes again, almost cried (yeah, I'm such a CHICK in real life) in some parts again, missing and overthinking about college life and its crossroads, again. This is what makes this game different for me. I played some lewd games that also made care for the characters, to attach to the story or the MC (Mortze and Tlaero specially), but absolutely none matches this one, for me.

Episode 8 again (spoiler free for the moment, I'll get there), enjoyed it all through, instantaneously making me forget about the loss of my old beloved saves, made me stayed till way after midnight, hah, nothing new, but I had to work the day after, goddammit. Totally worth it though. And then I went through the dunno-how-to-feel-yet-about Interlude and here I am, as "junkie" as I used to be towards this amazing game and it's awesome story.

Okay, some "spoiler" but it end up right in the discussion people is taking lately:

but a video game normally requires some skill to complete, most AVN (and even BADIK freeroam excluded) would be completed even by a woodpecker....

It must have really disappointed you to leave it incomplete

Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the NEUTRAL and the CHICK path.

I can tell the difference between dating 1 main Love Interest only and dating more than 1 LI / all of them, though. This makes a big difference!

Well, if we go down this rabbit hole of yours, that NEUTRAL and CHICK paths are really one and the same, then wouldn't it mean the majority of people prefer CHICK (58% of permanent affinity) instead of DIK (42% of permanent affinity)?

I'm just asking for the lynch mob again since they didn't kill me a few weeks ago, ain't I?

For me, pure CHICK is like a generic superhero, MC of almost any adventure, RPG game: a plain, always trying to do the "right thing", you know, like some people said, knight in shiny white armour. It's a good thing to do to be always nice, but it's like people who cannot at all tolerate spicy food. An exaggerated example would be playing GTA following the laws of real life.

NEUTRAL is nasty sometimes, means that you know and you take that not everyone will like you, that you won't live to some people expectations and that when you need to be an asshole because the situation calls for it, you will. I see the greys on following the CHICK and do some nasty stuff from time to time, but for me that grey means they want and should be NEUTRAL.
