we will never know what scenes he actually added, so in the end we will only be able to say whether we liked the chapter or not, whether we liked Bella's run or not (among all the LIs the least accomplished story)

"Being a DIK" is arguably the best game on this site and is certainly the most popular, all because DPC follows his instincts and builds the game as he sees fit. Suddenly people are second guessing him and his decisions. If DPC feels the episode requires additional scenes to flesh out the story (why does it have to be a sex scene or "major plot" step?), then he should add the scenes. I've been a patron of DPC's for two and a half years now. At my level of support, this means that "Being a DIK" is the most outrageously expensive game (or porn) I've ever purchased. It is worth every penny so far and I want that to continue. So I am content to let DPC create the game he wants. He hasn't let me down yet; in fact, for me each episode just gets better and better.sorry but this is not what DPC says in the update
he says that Bella's route is almost perfect, but that by playing it he thought it was missing something, now this something he's going to add, to a route that he thought was practically perfect, is going to be by necessity something minor, nothing that's going to change the tide. a few renders and some secondary animations. or do you think he wants to add a sex scene or major plot steps?
and at the same time the big free roam, almost certainly of the halloween party, which if not half the chapter probably took half the production time, is not an issue of the branching of the different routes (except marginally, otherwise every free roam in the second season is)
then for goodness sake, we have to wait and we will wait, but whether it was worth it we will know when we see the chapter, and it is not that the longer we wait the more satisfied we will be, it has never worked that way
you will see the glory when that something missing from Bella's route is a nice lawn to mow, after painting the fence and making pancakes
As of today, DPC has almost 12,600 patrons. If that number starts dropping rapidly, no doubt he'll reconsider his approach. Thankfully, it seems pretty clear that his other patrons feel more or less as I do.

I agree with you on a lot of things. But I think to myself that he is also very focused in EP9. Over-focused might be a better word.
He will be so focused on turning mysteries and consequences into a coherent picture story. His focus will be on the end result, but he wants to achieve that end result too precisely and perfectly, so he's inserted new images every now and then to better explain the story.
I also expect that there will be a lot of consequences. I was playing EP7 again yesterday and something Tommy said struck me.
Tommy: "Haha! I am a motherfucker! That MILF bar is the bomb."
With sentences like that, I always wonder if we should take DPC at their word. In the bar is Nicole (Envy). There's an EP9 preview with her. The MC also sees Jade and Cathy. In EP9, the MC will probably meet Jade, and Cathy is seen in the EP8 recap. Nora is also seen in the bar, in the credits of EP8, and in a preview.
The number of bar consequences alone would have made the paths very unmanageable, and DPC has built so many possibilities for consequences into the story that it is very confusing to create a detailed picture story for them.

I meant that I don't think he's about to add anything particularly important to the scene, anything significant. then he can also devote himself to Bella's route for the next 10 years, and considering what happened to other developers, he probably wouldn't starve

I started to second guessing him when he created 3 fucking lewd scene for Madam. When he introduced the mother dairy, and when he brought back a forgatable, ex girlfriend and created a whole episode to her, while even some actual main love interest are not fully fleshed out properly.
more content is always good but quality over quantity.
and in the end of the day, the story can't be fundamentally different based on the different girls, otherwise the Narrative will lose its rail , and everything end up as a chaotic mess.
episode 4 back then was perfectly balanced with the different starting point, branching. How ep 9 will handle it, remain to be seen, but he need a tighter grip now, because it's seem episode 9 lost it's track.

He's getting paid 6 figures, it's perfectly reasonable to expect more because of it. Yet the more patrons he gets, the longer the updates take. Generally quality AND speed increase with size of business, but only quality has with DPC

Yeah, artistic freedom of authors sucks a lot. How could DPC dare to tell a story like he wants to? He should ask you next time. Where will we end up if devs produce the storys in the way they have in their mind?

Bro, the plan is 4 seasons, 16 episodes. Draw your conclusions. Mine are that we will never know what was Lynette's family name / who posted Cathy's picture / who blackmailed Chad / what happened to Bella's marriage (you can bet your ass that we still won't know after the end of episode 9).
