I highly doubt they would charge DPC $100,000, but even if they did, he could afford it. He's made well over a million on this game, even if you ignore steam and gog sales.
No they cant re-broadcast it without paying up again...Well, it's a different things.
They played it once but they _broadcasted_ it.
How many people reached at once?
And very likely the wrestling company maintains the right of rebroadcast the video every time they want without paying 100k each time.
For a videogame is something similar. It's not a single broadcast, but several different plays... It's like selling a CD.
Anyway, who license a music for a specific use I guess makes an estimate of the number of people composing the audience and of the cash flow of the project to make a plausible offer.
In this specific case, probably they would refuse not to be associated with a porn game, but should they accept they would probably make a reasonable offer for the cash flow generated by the game.
(If I was the one making 1 million with a game which is primarily story and rendering I would not pay 10% of my gross income to license a single song)
and the broadcast reached about 250.000 people, visitors not included.
I dont have a full gist of how many customers DPC got with being a dik... but surely not much more than 500.000. Steamstats put out a total gross of 3,1 Million $ for about 3000.000 customers, Make it a double for the rest via patreon and gog (which would be very generous cause gog is not even close to steam and you cant purchase the game everywhere... for example, you cant buy it in germany in any other way than patreon, at least i dont know another way, gog and steam blocked the game here). So... maybe 6 million?
People tend to exeggerate how much DPC made with the game. Its a lot, but not enough to go around and pay up for a green day song.
In case of Video games... lets go for this... Star Wars Jedi Fallen order had to pay over 10 Million $ (they only hinted the real numbers, they dont tell them really, but its good enough) only for the soundtrack... and here it comes, there arent even original Stars Wars themes in it, only just a tiny little bit, maybe 30 seconds.
Well... yeah... no, to get the license for a Green Day song would be really expensive, and if DPC wanted to make a profit out of that game, well, yeah no way like that...
And... those licenses run out normally, you have to renew those deals too.
