As far as subpar english goes, I've played a lot worse... where I can't extract the intention and meaning. They need to fix the random parts that are in another language (I believe it's Russian). There were a couple parts that were gibberish english.I had some free time and tried it out. I can ignore the subpar English, the meandering plot, and the utter lack of meaningful choices… but holy fuck is the sidekick annoying.
Pretty much every college AVN is gonna be compared to Being a DIK from now on, and found lacking. Because as much as we bitch about the game’s various problems in this forum, it’s still an outstanding game.
Oh, and that’s five college-based AVNs I’ve played so far which feature a strip club. Whereas when I went to college and grad school, I never set foot in a strip club, and my friends never talked about going to one. Because why should we?—college parties have free naked girls, and there’s a non-zero chance they’ll eventually fuck you!

Preferably in a way you’ll appreciate.
Agreed, Sam (their Derek) as of now, is just a cheap caricature that exaggerates Derek's worst character traits. He lacks the vulnerability of Derek. More one dimensional. There have been quite a few cheap Derek knock-offs, and not one has been memorable.
My favorite college game besides BADIK is A Man For All. It's not a BADIK clone. It doesn't have freeroam sections or minigames. It has likable characters and a decent plot that is developing slowly.
Race of Life has potential too. The MC is not an enrollee, but an instructor.
I listed some decent to good BADIK inspired games here.
I hate incest and really out there or taboo genres. I like vanilla games with good stories and developed characters. I like when choices have consequences that affect your character's morality. That's why this genre appeals to me.
