Which is odd considering the success of stuff like Game of Thrones and Spartacus. The soft porn hard violence stuff does fine and has had a solid niche for years, for as long as cable TV has been around. I guess people think of this stuff too much as "porn" - in fact I think that's a major problem with the people making this stuff.

If I were DPC I'd just sell it as that. This game isn't one of those weird porno trainer games.

Ain’t that the truth. I try out a new game every month or so. And sometimes I download it, play it for an hour or so… then close it without saving anything, and delete it.

Sometimes because the premise, which sounded interesting in the description, turned out to be completely stupid. Sometimes because it’s nothing but goddamned mini-games. Sometimes the writing: either nobody sounds remotely realistic, or even human; or it’s a shitty translation from whatever the author’s native language is, because they used Bing Translator or let a friend, who totally lied about their English skills, take a whack at it. Sometimes the art is shit, but I’m usually willing to overlook that… but not when it’s impossible to navigate.

Mostly it’s because of bad writing. Too many idiots think all you need for an AVN is a series of fuck scenes with hot girls, loosely connected by the thinnest of plots. True, that’s exactly how they make porn… but if we wanted porn, we’d watch porn! We want a story. With fuck scenes, but still. And if you don’t have a story, with characters we care about, don’t waste everyone’s time.

Agreed! And something I realized only just recently—they totally misrepresented Jade and Cathy.

Agreed, as I was saying in the previous post, there's a market for a good story with steamy sex and violence. Game of Thrones and other stuff on HBO, etc. proves that.

The good news is there seem to be more devs catching on, there's now, like, more than 10 games that have high quality writing and erotica/sex in them now. I guess we just need to keep telling the devs that make trash - that they're making trash. Politely, of course.

Well just like in other area's there is very little that is truly great you can find some really good games some may end up being great but less then one percent are great. There a whole lot of bad a hand full maybe more that are good and very very little great. I would say that for anything not just a AVN

I think that's the issue it's not treated as a mistake in her life but her wronging him.

He wanted to stay in hometown for high school while Zoey wanted to leave for the surf and San Diego. He dealt poorly with the fact a smurf would not stay just for him so she ignored him eventually. Was she meant to keep banging her head against a wall. Tremolo could not maintain a friendship with Zoey he needed space he in fact finally sorts himself out once she does.

Just translate the Zoey return situation into real life. She's a teenage girl that has a shitty stepdad and just lost her nan one of the people most important to her and decides to move city for a new start. This is not malicious or wrong.

She comes back happy to see you and you give her shit for not staying for you and your penis and how she hurt you by leaving. How is that convo with that woman going? You may as well put your balls in a blender and hit juice.

He should've told her to fuck off or let it go. It makes Tremolo look like one of them pathetic guys that expects a girl to only be about him and gets angry and upset when her existence is about more than him. When it's not a reasonable expectation in the first place.

Alongside Maya's loan it's one of the games shit story lines.

I never turn down sex with Josy it would be the worse of crimes to reject her. With Maya there pretty much a forced scene with her at the end of ep 1 that was a low moment for her personally

Huh. I don't quite look at the relationship angle the same way you do. If MC values the relationship between him and Zoey and he's mad at her for not valuing it as much, it's not "him and his penis" - it's a relationship. But hey, that's just my opinion. I can sympathize with both things:

People being irritated with dev for introducing this storyline/character too late.
People being irritated with Zoey on behalf of MC because she didn't value the relationship highly enough.

Now do I think it's all her fault or do I not sympathize at all with Zoey? Nah, I mean, people make mistakes and can miss seeing something right in front of them. The MC does it as well, he doesn't say anything and keeps his feelings to himself. He could have spoken up. He may have felt selfish doing so, idk. That's how it comes across.

Yes, I do find that part of her annoying, for a good chunk of her life she doesn't seem aware of the impact she had on MC with their relationship.

So far I find her character tolerable but not terribly interesting nor am I "invested" in her character as part of the story - at least not as invested as, say, Josy or Sage, etc.

I guess it depends on what DPC "makes" the MC do in the future with her. There are times DPC gives us a lot of agency then there are times he is annoyingly inconsistent with that and rips agency away. We'll see how it unfolds, I suppose. If I don't die of old age first.
