Well I started to like Jill more after episode 10, there are a lot of cute moments and her behavior is no longer "a princess from a tower"
So I gave her some mercy after what I saw. Not the Divine Queen, but admit it, look nice:

Personally, I enjoyed the most that moment when MC teaching her normal music View attachment 3902659

Yes, i'm doing my first Jill playthrough, which turned into my future Bella playthrough since I went from Huge CHICK (with mostly DIK affinity, yeah ) to Massive DIK over the course of ep 6 and 7, cause CHICK choices can be beta af :cautious:. Gotta start over and make sure to end up as neutral by ep 8, which I might have to use a guide for.
On the flipside, it was satisfying to unlock Bella's house for the first time in my 3 playthroughs.

Honestly before I actually started this game I was like "Damn, update cycles these long? The hell is he adding?"

Now after I played the game is when I realize he created a coding nightmare that only real psychos would undertake, with a bunch of variables that have to play nice with each other... there's a reason most Ren'py porn games just take the harem route. I give credit where it's due though, the game is super solid with how your choices play with each other, but I can't imagine how much of a nightmare it is to code stuff like the Halloween party for episode 9 with all factors leading up to it.

All those variables are also why people's modded saves break, especially in Episode 9. Bella and Jill alone fuck everything up because of their unique costumes when you're on one of their paths. The silly banana and slutty mummy cannot co-exist.

But all of those variables give them game more depth, feels like your choices do matter. Except when they don't :HideThePain:

Don't give him any ideas.
Afterall, by that time he'll need to have his patreons pay for his walker...
:ROFLMAO:
People here joke a lot about it but if you look at it from dev POV, there is no reason for him to rush the game to completion, quite the contrary in fact.
I don't know how much he earn per month from all donations, but I have seen devs on this site make more than 10K/month with mid games and even a couple making 1-5K/month doing literally nothing (abandoned game, no other game in the oven, no com, nothing), so I would assume due to the popularity of BaD that he earn a lot.

Same goes with the time between updates, as far as we know he could complete an episode in 4-6 months and pretend it took a year, not only does he lose nothing doing that but he gain money and free time doing nothing.

A good game like this one will inevitably have drama surrounding its ending, obviously people will be disappointed about anything no matter what, it is bound to happen as it happen with all sort of media with huge fanbase.
It is better for him to postpone the ending as long as possible, right now the reviews are glorious, but when the end come I bet money that you will have an avalanche of bad review from disappointed people, no matter what, this hurt reputation and revenues.

This dev has a good reputation so it would not kill its chance a making another game, but why facing this shitstorm when you can calmly sail this game for a couple more years ?

If I was him, I would milk this game properly, as I believe he does, not milking it to death but doing it the way he does presently.
Since people are frustrated about the time between updates but still accepting of it, I would certainly pretend to work a year on it instead of 5 months. Why would I not do that ? If he start dropping them every 5 months people will expect it to be that way every updates and be angry if the amount of renders of whatever drop in an episode due to crunch.

Just because people are okay with waiting a year doesn't mean he could do it in half. Being overly cynical is just the reverse of being overly naive. It's just a different direction of dumb. You should allow for the possibility that it really takes that long at this point.

I am indeed very cynical irl, which may transpire in my previous post.
However, this was not a rant or some kind of doomposting, just my thought on the situation, I am not against the idea that it really take a year to make an episode, i'm just saying that he could lie about it and that is what I would do, because there is nothing to lose for him by doing so.

This work both way, you should allow for the possibility that it doesn't.

That said, as a player and pirate, I don't really care, because there is nothing to lose for me either.
The game could go for 30 episodes and still going in 2040 that it would not affect me personally, I love that game so i'm happy to have more of it.

Agree. There is no reason for him to end his Patreon when he has 16 000 supporters with many of them unable to click on the button to unsubscribe.

At the start of BAD, DPC would deliver updates incredibly fast. Between 3 and 6 months. Right now, he is on one year schedule but he could definitely expand it to a few years and make a very similar amount of money for far less work.

It would be stupid to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs when he can keep it alive for decades with renders and reports.

He technically could keep it alive for a long while, like at least til MC graduates. That's a ton of episodes right there. But as far as a story goes, speaking strictly about narrative thrust, there isn't much left to stretch out atm. Maya's loan absolutely cannot go further, and a lot of people hate it anyway.
Quinn and Vinny's struggle for power, intertwined with the free tuition/restaurant plotline, is also nearing the end.
Everything else isn't as weighty. MC's grandfather/Lynette's family, Lana's death, Sage's biological parents, James/locked room, whoever is behind the DIK pics, Cathy Cluck and blackmail, uhhh..... like what else is there to really care about?

None of these necessarily need to continue for the next 4 in-universe years, they could easily be replaced by new drama like a long-running soap opera. But they intrinsically need to be low stakes, because the setting is a college. A way to get around becoming stale is introducing more girls, but that could become a problem too.

These are all problems for people who care about quality, though. Some will just be happy to be getting BADIK indefinitely and won't worry about anything I just said.
