The short answer is no, the long one is in the post.

But for the lazy, here is the short version.

Considering how little time is left on this year (yes, less than 4 months is little for how much work is left) and that DPC still needs to POSE (not render) around 70 animations, there is no chance in hell the update comes out this year.

Sure, I would love to be wrong, but I doubt the update is coming before February.

There have been some women players who have pointed that out. But the game is written very male-point-of-view and it would take a lot of work changing that. And the fact that many hated Interlude, I doubt he will ever experiment with that again.
Some have suggested gay content since many women enjoy that but he has made it clear that he has zero interest in that. It's understandable, I don't think it would be very fun for many straight men to make gay hardcore sex scenes for a game.

I agree. The game has hinted about there being some sexual history between Jill and Bella but it always felt wrong to me since they have more of a sisterly relationship. Jill and Bianca would be more interesting.

Just another developer milking the cash cow. Went from three-four updates in a year all the way to one. Doubt you'll even see this one this year. They aren't much better than his original updates or longer so that tells me exactly whats going on. Dudes using all the money to vacation instead well giving supporters scraps. That discussion is completely useless, the interlude was always in the plans and BAK is a one man show, so what he wants goes.

As long as he is pulling that much money, DPC will do whatever he wants.

Plus, the interlude added around 4 months of wait time, considering how the game still needs years before its completed, it really isn't much in the bigger picture.

Would I skip the interdule? Sure, but the player opinion really doesn't matter for DPC, specially our as pirates.

He wasn't porting the game, only making the season 2 Steam release, a process that lasted around a month at worst.

No he wouldn't, the interlude is like 1/5 the size of a current update, the schedule would be like 4 months ahead, so we would be getting EP 11 in the next weeks instead of the next months.

It would be nice, but its DPC decision in the end.

The Interlude was timed appropriately (at the centre of the story, typically where Interludes traditionally fall), it also filled in the gaps of what had been happening with Zoey since her breakup with the mc, and placing more weight on her character than would have been if she just showed up. It also gave DPC a bit of a break, working on something a little different, which may have been cathartic after having spent almost three years flat out on the game already.

That said, players on this forum worked themselves into a rabid frenzy of hate for Zoey because:

1. No one wanted a new LI this late into the story (except they wanted Bianca the second they saw her drooling for the mc at the concert, and they wanted Yoga Girl, also knows as Carol-Lyn from this day forth, from only a handful of renders...)
2. The mc had literally just committed himself to a girl at the end of the last episode (unless you chose the "Others" path, which we all did, so this point is a little moot) and they were afraid she was gonna throw a spanner into the works.
3. She has blue hair and people have issues with that, possible an extension of the smurf from AL.
4. People already hated her for leaving the mc in the first place because said people have abandonment issues due to their mommies not holding them enough when they were little.
5. People didn't want 1 second spent away from developing the main story, and this was definitely quite a lot of time away from developing the main story.

But actually, the Interlude wasn't that bad. Compared to other games here (like 98%), it has a combination of good graphics, being told well, having a unique interface, having good music, and superb minigames (ok, I lied about that last one...) It's just people didn't want it in the first place, so they were significantly bias against it.

Also, even though the time between Episode 8 being released and the Interlude being released was roughly 15 weeks, that time also included:

• Bug fixes for episode 8.
• Walkthrough for episode 8.
• Christmas.
• New Year
• Season 2 release on Steam
• Both seasons release on GOG
• Another Q&A.
• DPC getting COVID
• Development/testing of the pre-requisite import logic between seasons.

The actual core Interlude work was only about a month and a half.

And all that said and done, when Zoey did show up in episode 9, people actually liked her (I mean the players, yeah the DIKs liked her too). She was chill, low key, and didn't start causing problems at all. The mc doesn't even know where he stands with her just yet. It's pretty cool.

Although, this animation probably delayed episode 10 by a month!

This game was never more than 2 updates a year. The current updates are approximately 3 or 4 times bigger than the first episodes. Other games update 4 times a year but have half the content over those 4 updates that one episode of this game has.

DPC is milking, his decision to move from 30 to 60 FPS on animations was solely to increase development time, it offers nothing more to the story, his constant making new minigames and tinkering with the existent minigames is exasperating. There's plenty of things to be annoyed by without blatantly lying in all three points that you made.

I dunno about that.

Episodes 1, 2 & 3 were released in 2019. Episodes 4, 5 & 6 were released in 2020.

But as you say, the rest of the dude's posts is bs.

The 30 to 60 fps conversion didn't actually result in slower development, because it coincided with his new graphics cards arriving and he commented that it was faster doing 60fps on the new hardware compared to 30fps on the old. The real issue is he just keeps created more, and longer animations. The animations are literally taking months to complete.

Minigames... I guess the new Brawler is ok if it's gonna actually matter to the plot (for when the mc takes down Caleb). But the fucking spelling and maths games... why did he even imagine they needed a revamp? And I totally keep forgetting there's a fucking fish feeding game. Fuck, if I keep rolling my eyes I'm gonna get a headache!
