As I was talking about another game I suddenly realized what bugged me so much about the jill friendship/ non-bella path. Without her connection to the MC, she really has no reason for being at that Halloween party or the ensuing barbeque. She basically feels forced in there for storyline purposes.

Pretty common consequence of branching. Can't deviate too much, so stuff like the Halloween party is canon, meaning everyone has to be there. As such, you get some throwaway lines to handwave the in-universe reasoning (Josy invited Jill, Jill convinces Bella) and voila.

I couldn't finish it dude, sorry. I also want to rescind my previous statement, the law has been changed. o_O

I suggest you create a thread in the off topic section called, "Being a DIK - Fan Fiction". Yeah, that might be a good idea.

Our breakdown was you needed 180 credit hours to graduate, so in order to graduate in 4 years, you needed to average 45 hours a year which broke down to any combination of 15 hours per trimester.
In my case, It was a 3 years degree and it was a total of 223 credits, being 1 credit the equivalent of 10 hours

If you aren't on Bella's path, she being in the Halloween party is too forced, but as Spock said, it's the problem of branching. To maintain the main story with all the protagonist, some scenes, even plots, can be unnecessary. For example when Josy and Maya rejects you during episode 4, I will love to have the option to break the whole friendly relationship, but I understand it is impossible because Tremolo is essential to the whole Maya's history

It's pretty normal in non harem games that you have to keep interacting with the LI's you have rejected. Where DPC excels is the dialogue coding and pathing depending on whether you are on friendship or romance path. In far too many games, you break up with an LI and then spend the rest of the time flirting with and drooling over her, (basically just skipping sex scenes), until different endings.

Here, using Sage as an example, if you are on a friendship path with her, it's a real friendship. you hang out without flirting or asking what color her underwear is. Just buddies catching up, without sexual tension. If you're on romance, then it is romantic and sexual. Considering how many other devs fail at getting it right, DPC does a marvelous job.

I don't think so. The alternative for her was to go to Tybalt's shitty "party" or stay at home. Besides, she didn't come there alone, but with friends. It also was the time when she decided to start coming out of her "shell" and Bella encouraged her.

BBQ party - she bonded with Sage and other girls at Halloween party already, so it's not forced either - now she got more reasons to attend some frats parties and she have more friends around, so she doesn't need Bella & Bianca as a "support" anymore. And hate for Tybalt bonds her & Sage pretty more as well.

well even if you completely ignore Jill there are some stuff that are canon like your tennis date, Tybalt drama, her becoming friends with Josie (library stuff), etc. SO her being at halloween party under her own explanation to open up and be more daring is not far fetched or weird. At least for me it never felt forced and fact she has "low-key slutty bee" outfit when you are not romancing her fortifies the fact she is there on her own agenda of being more spontaneous and trying to change who she is as she is having doubts about who she was until then (considering person she was did not pick MC's interest while attracting individuals like Tybalt) whereas having banana outfit when you ARE romancing her shows she is willing to embrace her silly side and is comfortable being herself and she is only capable to be in this state thanks to MC. as i said before, imo its not forced at all, its well thought out.

I just figured Josy invited her. So I checked. And she did.

So, like, that's pretty much it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think he's talking about a lack of reasoning, like I did mention that Josy invited her. But probably more about how it "feels" forced, like why is Jill going to a DIK party in the first place if she isn't dating MC.

Because Josy and her are friends, and it's not just a DIK party, it's a HOTs party, and Josy's a HOT, and Tybalt is having a prep wankfest at the mansion, and Josy invited her. So she said, "Fuck it, I'ma wear a bee outfit and make that cunt Fuckface realise just how much he fucked up by not going on that picnic! Fucker!"

If there's enough reasoning, how can it feel forced?

Josy invited her to the BBQ too.

Basic first impression that doesn't go away, shallow interpretation, dislike of the character creating a bias, etc. "Oh why would prissy, preppy, sheltered, snobby, stick up her ass Jill go to a roaring frat bro party filled with sex and booze? She should be at home reading a book like he fucking nerd she is :KEK:"
