You don't get Derek at all. He is very smart, but acts the fool. He, like Maya, is extremely damaged by the dysfunctional family situation, a mother that's been progressively sicker since they were babies, a father that's become oppressive and abusive, etc.
Josy is intoxicating, sweet, and easy. She also seems to cheat when things get tough. Why wouldn't she do that to the MC? Totally adorbs, though. Maya is also gorgeous, and touching, very sweet when things aren't triggering her. Both have very problematic behavior. Hard to resist the throuple on a Chick or Neutral run...
