I love M&J too, but the punishing blows to the MC and the player for their galivanting with multiple women is ruining a lot of the enjoyment for me.

I think because Acting Lessons was decently successful and got incredibly well known for a certain choice he might feel like he has to top that with this game which is why he is making it so dark all of a sudden.

The thing that disappointed me the most about this update was how he took the most simple choice regarding Jill's story. Having Tybalt become an antagonist after him being shown to be comic relief for five episodes is just lazy and if I didn't know DPC said it wouldn't be in I would assume it would lead to a certain three letter word happening. I hoped DPC wouldn't just use a blackmail story line that has already been used in thousands of other games and would come up with something more original but I was completely wrong. I'm just dreading what he is going to come up with when he starts focusing on Bella's story I'm really worried about that now.

AL got them noticed, but not in a good way, and it's always concerned me that DPC has seemingly just brushed off that criticism and failed to recognise that people aren't interested in dark, depressing, and emotionally gut-wrenching drama in their adult games. This could have been a generally light-hearted story with a smidgen of drama, like M&J's situation, Bella, Sage & Chad, Quinn, etc, but it's doing way too much with all of these than is really necessary and, dare I say it, taking too much time. The whole "rebuild the mansion" and DnG game is just pointless filler to pad out the game rather than just get on with telling the story.

The darkness of this game and the fact that there are all these emotionally difficult decisions with regards to the girls could very well be it's downfall because even feeling very unsure if I want to continue playing as it's turning into something truly depressing.

Nothing, yet. He shows up at the end when the MC is talking to Maya and Josy outside. Maya's Dad approaches her dorm room and it's revealed that he has his own key but the room is empty. However, Maya, Josy and the MC are all headed back to the room and that's where the episode ends.

Yo guys so I finished my playthrough and I got a question. When at the end Professor Burke is looking at his computer etc. How could he possibly got a hold of the video of MC fucking Jade? If my memory serves right after MC shows the video to the DIKs for the Hell Week, Rusty uses his DIK secret right or something (I know it's named differently) and everyone keeps that to themselves. So how did Prof. Burke has that video? I didn't understand that part and if someone has an idea or two about this and would tell me I would appreciate it

One of the DIK's will have given it to him, also will be behind all the other bad stuff i guess

nah this was always his style, you even had that disclaimer at the start of the game from day 1, in AL you could see it even before the house fire with the girl getting beaten up

Yeah I feel you there. Although I think the blows seem more punishing than they are because we're playing update to update and we have no idea how permanent or choices this chapter are.

In the runs I went after Sage or Jill, I did my best to ignore the other girls but my blind playthrough was tricky made me feel like an asshole

that said I haven't started acting lessions yet so I've not got much to compare it too

Is anyone else running into an issue with skipped content? After the bartender gives me my beer it cuts directly back to the HOTS and doesnt let me try for the scene with the chick at the bar or for the threesome with Envy and Sandy. I just redownloaded the full game and it still skips it.

I got the skipping part on the Maya, Josy route. On the DIK route I got the two scenes. Plus you need to do the swipper thing right with Envy and Nora

hey just saying, the warning that the next "house fire" was coming was there from the start, but at least the dik house is safe since it needs to exist for the characters of AL to join, kinda, just hope it doesn't end in a school shooting

It's going to annoy a lot of people and this is where I worry that all this drama building and piling one thing on top of another is going to be a problem down the line. I don't know if it would affect their Patreon, but I think it should.

Overall I'd say that people play these adult VNs not just for the hot characters and copious amounts of sex, but for the escapism inherent within that, to not have to deal with life's shit and not feel the crushing weight of depressingly heavy feelings. This episode has done that in spades and I personally just can't see people continuing to be happy with the direction this game is taking.

Very. It has a terrible ending that is depressing as fuck and really, really dark. People thought DPC wouldn't do that kind of thing again, but after playing this episode, I'm not so sure about that anymore.

Yeah I have to say the tone is dark tone is beginning to become overbearing. I enjoyed the Mansion rebuilding minigames because I enjoy management sims in general at least before this episode there we character's with minimal drama. Ironically it seems like sage has the most normal college drama for now.

I think one of the reasons I'd enjoyed the Jill content up to now is it was so innocent and wholesome compared to the rest of the story so its a shame to see it become so heavily dramatized now. I just hope the rest of her plot is handled with a little more finesse

I can't comment on acting lessions as I still am debating if i should play through based on what I've read about the story in general
