I've said before that I think the start of Quinn's hatred of Maya was the sense that Maya looked down on her. But I also think Quinn (and you) exaggerate just how strong Maya's contempt was. Maya called them a bunch of sluts, but a single off-hand remark isn't quite the seething hatred you imply. I don't think Maya really got bitter about Quinn and the other HOTs until after Quinn tried to back out of the free tuition in Episode 6.

As for Maya sincerely apologizing, I'd say it's a distinct possibility if she does join the HOTs. But it would probably only be to certain individuals (and definitely not Quinn), and I think it might be a while before we get to that point.

Maya's first impression of the HOTs is bad, but basically she is right... and during her stay among them she has no reason to change her mind about them. Sarah and Melanie talk bad about her on several occasions and we don't see her sharing any positive moments even with the less radical HOTs, like Helena or Heather

also MC has a bad impression when he meets the DIKs (and he is basically right too), but he during his first days with them sees something positive, apart from Tommy they are all well disposed towards him since the beginning, they are all happy that he wants to become a DIK

if the free tuition had existed Maya would have remained among the HOTs, despite the HOTs... maybe she will have other opportunities to reconsider

personally to me Sara's apology looks more like a hypocritical gesture due to Sage's change of attitude, she probably also realized she went too far with Maya, but they are two people who have nothing in common, it's hard for her to feel all this empathy

Maya is always in her room crying, watching a movie or waiting for help. true, she is basically like this

but MC would have ended up like that too, running away from college, but first Derek makes him postpone his departure and then Rusty and the other DIKs in general make him find reasons to want to stay, to want to become a DIK. at that point MC would have wanted to become a DIKs even without the problem of the room (which is actually a problem that does not exist, at most he would have to wait for a new assignment)

this doesn't happen to Maya, Maya only has MC on her side (and after Josy)

But we can say that for what we see in the story Maya and Josy don't have much in common, Maya's perfect day and Josy's perfect day if we take away the sex between them would probably be very, very different. right now the only real thing they have in common is MC

2. Maya is shy and introverted. Actually the opposite of Josy. At the Josy/Maya/MC dinner in the cafeteria, we see why Maya couldn't do anything with boys. Even Josy says in EP4 that Maya couldn't do anything with boys before and was positively surprised by Maya.
But that is exactly what is so confusing. Take another look at the Maya/Josy flashback. First Maya is shy and pushes Josy back in the tent. But when Josy took the pictures, she was relaxed and happy until Derek talked to her. Let's go straight to the first college day of the MC. He meets a happy and easy-going Maya, but she becomes more introverted and anxious. It's kind of similar with Josy, except she's not introverted. Check out the Car Wash event. Josy could have taken part naked at the same time. But in EP7 Josy is the Hot's Unifrom too permissive. Hello!! What's going on here!!

the path through which Maya decides to trust MC is really long and frustrating, every time they talk there's always this reference to being sincere, to being able to really trust, a path that starts in the first chapter and maybe ends in the sixth.

Let's say that Maya has her own reasons for not trusting others, but that all the problems she has with MC she doesn't have with those who have repeatedly betrayed her trust
