It's for the future. My guess is it will either be an easter egg of some sort, or it will tie into Vinny's (eventual) storyline since it was presumably his.

First thing when Quinn is in MC room is her open the box (in update 7).
It's one of the things Viny left and as she knows about, the drug dealer competitors were seemingly close to each other or quinn has a real high IQ and technical understanding compared to MC.
Between them, who introduced whom to drugs or the towns dealer boss in the basement, nor why they got competitors for same territory ground, isn't implied I think.
And, as we learned, Riona was never able to enter his room.

Edit: it also ends the speculation about Viny being part of the break in ( even if the written words of the graffities look similar to the lettering in Viny's former room) as if it's of importance to him, he or someone close to him would have looked for it by this occasion at the latest.

well Dalli did had a theory that Vinny had forgotten something valuable in his old room and that was why the mansion was trashed! at the time i corrected a few inconsistencies since it had to be extremly valuable and be able to be stored inside a book but...

what is if its in that puzzle cube? the MC references as it being very heavy so diamonds or gold ? in accordance to the volume of the thing if the MC is 6 feet tall it would require a very dense material and there are not that many!

other option is that its made of Lead and inside you got some hardcore evidence against someone like Burke or Vinnie himself?

My random take on this is the Halloween Party is probably aimed to land on Halloween next year. Given the development times of late, it'd be way off. Slap in a shorter "Interlude" episode, and the clocks can be resynchronised.

I do not know where you got this from, but it contradicts not only the words of DPC, but also common sense. Reread his last message. I haven't seen him so excited and emotional for a long time. He literally talks about some exciting news, that it will be fun and he will share these news in the near future. If you think logically, it could be
1) hiring additional employees, which will be a new experience for DPC as a developer
2) he completed several courses and improved his skills (well, not the news we want to hear).
3) Buying new hardware for rendering
4) The decision to release shorter updates
5) Its sales in steam are very good (we already knew that)
6) The announcement of the creation of a new game (unlikely, given that he said he had already started work on season 3)
7) Announcement of the exact number of chapters
I can't think of anything else. He also stated that he wanted to celebrate 17,000 patrons with a special gift. The release of the Interlude?

OK my $.02 - don't spend it all in one place. I had fun with this episode but, truth in advertising, I don't do mini games and the free-roams i find to be drag - at least the tasks app gives you the must-dos., and the quick jump is a savior - wandering around rooms looking for Derek is dull as shit. I play with the Mod and use it. I try all paths - and course correct if the game leads me away from a path because of some arbitrary decision 4 episodes ago. I adjust affinity and variable as necessary - I don't have the patience to go back and play over an over again. And honestly much of the talky-talk is irrelevant drivel and I just don't care. And the recital at least was skip-able - I watched it about halfway through waiting for anything interesting to happen and finally bailed. The devs are great but they are bit too proud of their mad rendering skills - do I really need to see piano hammers move?

OK so at the end my episode all LIs are still viable - and Scrappy gives you the opportunity to see all the alternate paths in a single play through. If I have to choose at the beginning of 9 - I'm on either team Sage or team Maya/Josy - Jill is to fairy tale romance and Bella is, well just inconceivable to me. But honestly - I may be done now anyway because I sense the soap opera drama that is to come and am not at all interested in it.

Just an aside for the pregnancy conspirators - don't you think that the only LI that MC left baby seeds in without an option

If DPC has shown us one thing in BaDIK, it is that he has no idea how to integrate dramas well into the story.

Well said. Being a DIK is a GREAT game. This game is the AAA of H-games. Lovable characters, witty dialogues, amazing music... But it has a lot of flaws in terms of writing. For example, it has all the clichés of H-games (MC´s magic cock, all women are bi and either nymphomaniacs or prudes, unnatural, overexaggerated female bodies...), a lot of holes in the plot, and scenes that can fit well into a given path, but are totally out of the place if you follow a different path. For example, the familiarity of the MC with the HOTs only make sense if the MC stayed with Sage several days in the HOT´s mansion and had the opportunity to bond with some of them. If not, the MC and the HOTs would be just acquaintances at best. Or Sage being so close with the MC and asking him for help in several occasions even if the MC rejects to help her with Chad, to teach her to play the guitar and don´t want to be "fuck buddy" with her. There are a lot of things that are not well integrated into the plot, not only drama. And the drama parts seems to be inspired by some cheap soap opera.

But people here tends to be blind to the flaws of BDIK and talk about the writing of game as if it were a masterpiece. Well, it´s a masterpiece compared with the rest of the H-games, that are amateur at best, or just plain crap. Its really refreshing to read a comment that dares to point a flaw in the writing of this game. Kudos for that.

4) The decision to release shorter updates (He's only been getting bigger because he can't help himself, he wants to enhance the experience each time, to reduce it would be counter to his personality)
5) Its sales in steam are very good (we already knew that) (It's a 1-liner in a release, not something to hype up as an exciting development, he's gotta be making way more money from Patreon than Steam will ever rake in)
6) The announcement of the creation of a new game (unlikely, given that he said he had already started work on season 3) (It's too early for a new game announcement, it'd send shockwaves and mass speculation that BaDIK is going to be rushed or abandoned etc.)
7) Announcement of the exact number of chapters (That would be nice, but it undermines his flexibility. He could suggest we're about halfway through or something like that though, but keep it vague)
I can't think of anything else. He also stated that he wanted to celebrate 17,000 patrons with a special gift. The release of the Interlude? (It'll just be some render series based on a bunch of polls from the patrons, nothing to get excited about. Maybe the Madam is going to have full blown sex with the mc, the patrons would be beside themselves with that news...)

I dunno dude, his enthusiasm is just marketing hype to me. "Exciting" and "Fun" are just words that get thrown around to make shit sound great.

When he said he has some exiting news, he then went to list what that shit was about:

• What I'm working on
• The upcoming Steam release
• Season 2 patch information
• The episode 8 walkthrough
• Information about the Interlude
• Patron milestone celebration
• A new Q&A post where you can submit questions
• Patreon tier changes

It's not really that exciting, it's just business as usual, but like any business, you gotta keep the hype up. Everything you listed is just a wish list (and I've commented on each item in red above), nothing to do with anything he actually said.

So really, what I wrote doesn't contradict anything. Sure, it's total speculation, but it definitely doesn't lack good sense: He's gonna release the "Interlude" (which will be probably shorter, cause interlude are typically shorter by definition), and after that he's gonna release episode 9. Hopefully we'll see episode 9 before this time next year and he can label it a Halloween Special.

AFAICR it's not possible to have a successful Jill route if you're on any path except for CHICK.

As much as I'd love the plot-twist an unexpected pregnancy by MC would add, it's been proven that it isn't MC's baby. There are runs you could do where you literally have sex with no one at all (with the exception of Quinn during the CUMpetition, even still...no cum) and the pregnancy test still shows. Unless it's a massive flaw in the writing, which I doubt but it's possible, I'd say it's probably either Heather/Tommy, Derek/Wendy or JB/Elena. It could also possibly be from Lynette's diary showing her pregnancy test when she found out she was pregnant with the MC.

Edit: It could ALSO be between Ashley/Anthony (for some added drama) or Ashley/Derek

AFAICR it's not possible to have a successful Jill route if you're on any path except for CHICK.

I just finished my run but you can do Jill as long as you don't have a DIK affinity, so you can have a Neutral one and will be good to go since that's where my affinity ended.
