The whole point of the loan threat is for Maya to face a situation where she'd need to pay the money back faster than she could possibly earn it
What happens if she doesn't pay it back? Does she get sent to debtors prison? Will they ship her off to a penal colony in Australia? Wait, that would be awful.

What happens in the real world is that she goes bankrupt, the court liquefies her assets (LOL), protects her from her debtors, and in 3 to seven years it's all over and she starts with a clean slate.

But everyone insist that this is Duckburg and in Duckburg rules she will have, what a D branded on her forehead?

Any attempt to argue the loan in the terms of the loan as presented will only lead to sinking deeper into the morass of stupid that Maya's student loan is.

I just completed S2 for 4th time on chick route to get all the girls lol
But MC can't really get all the LI's even on a chick route. MC will feel guilty, some of the girls will express apprehension/misgivings due to lack of commitment, and you break Jill's heart.

is that what you get when you only go for her?

is that what you get when you only go for her?
That happens when all the girls in the game reject you :(

Bur for real It's just an image I made, it has nothing to do with the game, it's just humor

It's DPC's story, he can make bankruptcy more onerous if he wants to (as long as other characters aren't shrugging it off in similar circumstances, of course). But he would be better off sticking with a simple explanation. The more he tries to go into detail with technical-sounding words the more confusing it gets.

I've been saying from v0.1 that Riona would clean up real nice. That overdone eye makeup she often wears absolutely didn't do her beauty justice.

I tend to agree about the makeup, but at least one big exception comes to mind. I love this shot of her to the point I almost made it my avatar:

But in the end, I can't see anyone supplanting The Goddess. ;)

Guys, quick question, how can I contact admins?

Post multiple rants about SJWs in quick succession. They'll contact you. :sneaky:

...I'm pretty sure another one like you isn't among those patreon snowflakes

Yup, morass of stupid.

But hey what do I know? You guys have been praising DPC for a year now as the greatest writer since Tolstoy. The greatest game developer since, IDK some famous game developer guy. The greatest animator, the greatest graphic designer, etc etc.

When the truth is that it's a ridiculous, poorly written story with zero belivability, by a dev who at most has a moderate talent for creating characters and a certain knack for marketing his shit.
I don’t think anyone here is actually saying the repercussions to her convoluted loan are dire. It’s only Maya saying that because she’s clueless.

If she’s the co-signer (which we’ve all established isn’t possible, unless the dad has been buying up assets under her name and generating a credit history for her, doesn’t sound like his style), the onus is first on the loan recipient (i.e. her dad) to pay the loan. If he defaults, then it’s on her.

She doesn’t have to start repaying the loan until after she’s graduated or dropped below part-time student status (6 months or so after), and that’s just in instalments over 10 years. And as I said, as the co-signer, she doesn’t have to do jack since her dad has to pay it once he’s graduated (given he’s the recipient of the student loan).

Does it make any sense? It makes no sense. Who’s telling us about the loan? Maya. Has she proven herself to be credible and infallible? Absolutely not.

Surely once she explains any of this to the Burkes they’ll be like, “This is total nonsense, your dad is bullshitting you”. And the cat will be out of the bag.

If DPC drags the loan on much after this meeting, it will be ludicrous.

This will be his chance to end a this story arc sensibly, since this will be the first time some competent characters have looked at the loan. The dad can still be a thorn in Maya’s side, but the loan will have to be put to rest.

Regarding comparing the game to Tolstoy’s works, no one’s doing that, they are just comparing it to pretty much every other game here, of which debatably, none come close.

And I believe the game’s merit has nothing to do with marketing. I stumbled across it here like many of the other games I’ve played, and it’s stood head and shoulders above the rest for me, no hype machine necessary.

As far as I know there aren't any. Unless there's a mod for it.
You can skip all mini-games, which results in auto-win, at the beginning of any new game. I'm not sure there is a way to do this after the start of a new game without mods or using in-game cheats through Derek/Magnar.

I'm not putting any money on that. Maya may not know much about finance or law, but Josy and Sage are studying economics and they seem to buy it as well. Nor do I think DPC intends to resolve the arc by revealing that Maya is a complete dummy who was never in any threat. I think we'll ultimately learn that Maya's take was generally correct, whether or not Burke will do anything about it.

This is what I meant when I said DPC should keep it simple. Don't bother trying to map the real meaning of terms like 'co-sign' onto DPC's word salad. Just go with the summary and the way people react to it. Maya is on the hook for money her father controls, that's the situation. If she defaults, her credit will be borked for years to come, which would be bad. That's the threat.

Whether it's "realistic" is beside the point, as long as the story is otherwise consistent. DPC's attempts to make it look realistic by describing the financial details are having the opposite effect, but in end they're just window dressing. That's how I see it, anyway.

Regarding comparing the game to Tolstoy’s works, no one’s doing that, they are just comparing it to pretty much every other game here, of which debatably, none come close.

This part I certainly agree with. This game is still one of the better written games I've played in recent years. Few AVNs can match its overall quality, and none of the ones that do can match its volume of content. BaDIK earned its praise, notwithstanding its flaws.

It could certanely go that way. Personally i would hate that outcome and will consider Badik story worst for it. Varage already explain it, the most important aspect of this story are human emotions and relationships, not financial law. You guys made a huge deal out of this but I find it the least important aspect of this story.

As I see it the loan is a pretext to give Maya's dad a tool to control her. That way DPC can built tension with Maya and Josy and a trigger for Maya to join the Hots. It generate conflict, Maya is in trouble, Sage can help, the MC... well he got a double blowjob for this issue. The tool for Maya's dad to control her is just a tool, you can change it for, I don't know: Maya's dad pay her tuition with his saves... and the story remain exactly the same.

But if you change the story as you propose... ok maybe the loan got sense now, but who cares?... We know DavDR is not going to stop haiting the story anyway. On the other hand, Maya it's portray as a stupid when she already get a lot of hate (with Josy, the MC and Sage on the same place); most of the drama since the game started is reveal as a stupid misunderstood, pure air; Patrick, who seemes to be a new antagonist is out of the story, Burke, another antagonist loose an oportunity to be integrated more into the story from a position of power, wich means more dangerous.

The financial law is happy now, but the personal dramas, the conflict beetween people, the strugle for indepence, love, power, suffer a lot.

but keep the petulant old baby talk, it's kinda fun and this thread wouldn't be the same without it.
Funny for you. In my family, my cuore family, dad, mother etc, they made jokes out of people, not for the porn games they like, but for the literature classics they read. I came to my father the other day and i told him i was reading Gone with the Wind. I wasn't bragging i was just curious about the book. He made fun of me for reading: "low tier books". It's a fucking classic with a whole country teaching it in schools as some form of national treasure and yet I got the bullying anyway.

Now imagine my reaction when I came here and I see someone making a huge snob theater couse: "Badik is bad writing, not like A house in the Rift". Sweet lord, as long as i tried to not be like my family, still I was educated to see it as a worm bragging about being tall.
