Like I said, she didn't KNOW that date would be the one that made her realize the MC was right for her and you can't reschedule a special moment that you don't even know would have happened.

One thing that some people seem to forget is that Jill has been waiting for Sir Galahad to come in, swoop her off her feet and carry her away to Camelot. This rather unrealistic outlook on romance and sex clouds her judgment and prevents her from seeing past whatever flaws (real or imagined) the MC might present to her in a somewhat-other-than-perfect playthrough.

Seems to me you missed several paths on your playthroughs, Josy, Isabella, Jill, but also some names on the DIK affinity like Becky, a 3some with Riona and Camilla and then the other nameless locked ones. You might want to use either the official WT or the unofficial WT, see page 1 to download those, if you want to play each path that is, else use the gallery unlocker there.

The answer is that you can't. To maintain neutral affinity you have to do things she would admire, and it also changes how you speak, how you act, and your romantic chemistry with her.

1) Since I'm going on a date with Jill anyway, it makes no sense for me to accept Tommy's offer with a trip to the bar
2) I will feel sorry for Steve
3) Since I'm going to go the way of Josie and Maya as a neutral, I can simultaneously refuse to smoke weed and refuse Jade
4) I can agree to go to work in a nursing home instead of going to work in a strip bar
At the same time I will definitely
1) Beat Tybalt
2) Beat up Troy
3) Beat up the jocks
4) Accept the offer of a restaurant to fuck Riona and Camila
In fact, it's very easy to go along a neutral path, it's enough for every dik decision to make a chick decision.

To add my 2 cents to the affinity/status debate it does matter. I wouldn't advocate playing with the cheat mod for a number of reasons, but one useful functionality of it is to see that your decisions have completely different effects given your status at the time you make a decision. For example, early in the game with DIK status giving a compliment to Josi, Maya, or Jill has an opposite effect than if you have neutral or chick affinity. It dries them out like you wouldn't believe. If you have DIK affinity with Bella, however, It is much easier to max her affection points. When it comes to the DIK/Chick affinity, there are specific checkpoints where your relationships can be scuttled, most notoriously in the library with Maya and Josi. There are others, though, especially with Jill. Bella seems fairly agnostic to your affinity although she will respond to your status. She is the odd duck in the pond. Basically, the only way to ruin the romance with her is to leave panties in her car. Sage can be had regardless of your affinity but you can reject her at multiple points. It is possible to ruin all the romances and be left with only the "others" choice during relationship montage but it is pretty funny because it ends up being a slideshow of random ass (Mine had Quinn, Riona, Camilla, Envy, and fucking Sarah). So the premise that affinity and status play no role is not correct. The argument of whether it plays too great a role and ruins immersion, however, would be an interesting discussion.

Affinity certainly matters, the question is how much. To me, it's of secondary importance in comparison to other factors. IMHO, saying a given run is a DIK run is less significant than saying it's a Sage run, for example. Neither is a full description, but I find the latter more informative on its own. YMMV.

As for whether the DIK/CHICK systems ruin immersion, I've discussed that to death. I think the combined system is a muddled mess, but it does a passable job as long as you don't sweat the details... and have a walkthrough.

You can't reschedule a moment like that, because you don't know you would have it. What you want is that Jill chooses the MC without the moment that made her realize he was right for her. That she ignores her own feelings because that's what you want. But that's not how reality works.

Let's say you met a girl. You are interested in each other. She comes to your door one day to surprise you but you don't have the time so you can't spend the time together. What you don't know is that that date would have had the special moment when she realized you were right for her. After that, smaller things happen but nothing that gives her the same realization so after a few weeks she decides it doesn't feel right and gives up.
Would you blame her for not feeling the way you want her to feel? Would you blame it on that date you never had and on her for not having that moment another time?
You can't force a person to fall in love with you at the time of your choosing. A missed moment can make or break a relationship.

You can't reschedule the moment, but you could reschedule the picnic. Why doesn't Jill do that?

It's not like Jill and the MC were strangers prior to Jill asking him out. If Jill's branch were gated by their first date, I would probably feel differently. But that date has already happened and (assuming you showed any interest in Jill), the two of them became quite hot and bothered for each other. So there are good odds an equivalent moment could have come up at another time if they kept hanging out. That never happens, though, because as soon as the MC fails to live up to Jill's mental image of the perfect boyfriend, she just writes him off.

So it's not that I blame her for failing to fall in love with the MC, I blame her for being so superstitious that she reads cosmic importance into a quirk of timing. I blame Jill for being painfully shallow and naive, and I blame the game for taking her side as though the MC was somehow in the wrong for prioritizing a friend in need over Jill's flight of fancy.

Or at least I would *if* I took the situation seriously. Instead I just avoid that particular occurrence and hope it never darkens my door again.

Jill for example is consistently top voted character. Since the main goal of DPC is to make money, Jill accomplished her function perfectely. It's clear DPC is not writing for the nobel prize so... why would we blame him for achieving his goals?.

And if you wanna go with a different aproach, in defense of some high standard of literature wich is absurd to demand from a porn game... then Maya and Jill are probably the best characters. On top of that, the whole ramble against both of them is anything but a defense of literature high standards, it's the oposite. In a porn male centric game, your complain of girls characters is always for them to not being submisive enough. You call it bad writing but honestely, it's just a porn selfish fantasy, it has more to do with MC's dick not being big enough than with any resemblence of realism.

the problem is actually just that

it's not true that you need an almost perfect run (which anyway would be a quite unfounded privilege for one of the 5 LI still in the middle of the game), but you need any run without going to Sage.


those who will have this choice cannot consider themselves to have had a virtuous path for Jill and yet will have no problems (for now at least)

the scene in the bathroom with Josy about jealousy that seemed so very important, the punch to Tybalt that practically appeared as a tactical suicide for her, have virtually no impact (of course always for now) compared to that single choice.

even if chasing the paradox we had courted both Quinn and Jill, Quinn will step aside and with the right affinity we will have the chance to pop Jill's cherry to crown a not so perfect love story...

then to say that it fits because Jill is insecure, naive etc etc... doesn't make it right
a seal has not been put on Jill's "happiness", a trap has been set in the path for the players.

And now I'll try to be a little serious.
I understand why Pink had did with Jill/Sage exactly the way he did.
1. Apparently Pink wanted to make the key point for the character not obvious to the player. If Sage was calling for a party, then 90% of the players would choose Jill. Pink originally wanted to make the choice so difficult and contradictory. On the other hand, besides Sage, he could use Maya or Josie. But apparently he postponed the drama with the choice between M/J and Jill for episode 9.Of course, if you beat up Tybalt and Troy, and Jill rejected you because of it since she doesn't like bullies, it sounds more logical from the point of view of a character being bullied at school. I was willing to accept this choice if there were consequences for Sage too. It's just that for me it's some kind of devaluation of Sage's character.
2. In this whole situation, I am surprised by Sage's reaction. It looks like the usual breeding of character branches. But for some reason, Sage always remains available even if we ignored her. Moreover, in the game we literally have to run from Sage, who seems to be more fixated on the player than on Chad. Moreover, we can jump on the outgoing train of Pussy Sage already in episode 7. All this leads me to the idea that Sage, on the way of other girls, will get stuck in the role of a friend for sex and consolation. Just imagine. The player quarreled with Jill. Who does he go to for advice? It could be Bella or Sage. Consolation from Sage can take a very specific form and the nature of actual сheating.
3. What will become of Chick player rejected by Jill? Will Pink prescribe this branch? After all, in fact, this is the end of the game. As a Chick, girls from HOTs are not available to you, and you rejected other girls yourself. What should the player do? I don't want to guess, but it looks like the chance to fix everything will present itself and MC will be able to woo Jill.
Otherwise, it makes no sense for the player to choose Jill at all at the end of episode 8 if you ignored her in episode 6. This is a false and illusory choice from DPC, leading to an actual game over.
At the same time, it's funny that Dik's way looks the most honest. He literally chooses from Sage and Quinn, whereas Neutral or Chick from five girls. I guess it was meant to preserve Sage and Queen in Dik's way, but because of Sage's popularity, Pink decided to make her available to all other players.

Derek with Ashley or Wendy is entirely possible. Ashley is naive enough to not protect herself properly. And Wendy and birth control? Why would she need it? It's not every day that some guy HAS to have sex with a feminist. Tommy with Heather, though, not so much. I think she's too world-wise to get pregnant if she doesn't want to, and I see nothing in the game that would indicate that she is ready for motherhood yet. She's actually quite focused on her studies, and pregnancy would create severe problems in that regard.

Magnar with Sally was another possibility I've considered. It would explain her attitude at the dorm party.

I do believe we can definitively rule out the 5 principal LI's. The pregnancy test is in every possible path. But, the MC doesn't have to have sex, much less cum inside, with any of the 5. And none of those girls is likely to have had sex with any male other than the MC since the start of the game. Sage and Chad haven't had sex for a while at least; Josy is only interested in the MC and Maya; Mays is a lesbian who has never touched a boy; Bella is still waiting for John and only has thoughts about another man IF she is turned on by the MC; Jill is a professional virgin. I know people have come up with theories about all that being lies, but come on... really?

I do think the 'flashback' theory has merit, though. It is exactly the type of thing our beloved developer could throw at us.

I think it's Bella's pregnacy test from years back. It definitly looks like an older one and would be about time DPC start with lifting the curtain around her. Also would clarify the low hanging mirror with little step up before that mirror in her bathroom.

If i remember correct it is discussed before and beside Ashley or Sally it would be the most viable outcome.

Well, obviously those actions have enough of an impact on your character that Jill is willing to overlook the other decisions. Besides... She doesn't really care that much about Tybalt's face beyond the legal jeopardy it puts MC in. I'm surprised she didn't punch him herself. In your original post you lamented that you could go around acting like a total dik. By your own admission, you cannot.
