The truth is that if DIKs are to have the same number of parties with HOTs as Jocks, then both Jocks and DIKs will have to create some rules for each other about who will party with whom and when. Maybe that's why Sage herself mentioned at the DIKs Halloween party that she would like to have a party where both DIKs and Jocks would be at the same time. A big party like New Year's was the perfect opportunity for such a move, and that's probably why Sage herself took advantage of it and held a party where both Jocks and DIKs were there.The difference between MC and Derek being members of the DiKs and Caleb being a member of the Alphas is that the Alphas are under Administrative supervision, so any rule breaking might result in their frat being dissolved.
The agreement was that the HoTs will plan parties with both fraternities.
The DiKs planned the xmas party by themselves, therefore they broke no rule. Just because half the HoTs decided to show up doesn't mean the DiKs broke the rules. Moreso, even if I'd agree that someone broke the rules, it would be the HoTs who showed up, since they agreed to attend the Alpha party. (To be clear I'm not saying that)

Have you ever considered that Chad might leave the ALPHAs in Episode 12? He didn't move back into the ALPHA house in Episode 10. Then he has a physical altercation with Caleb. Through his conversation with the MC, he realizes that not everyone in the world is a homophobe. This could be the way for Chad and Troy to finally appear together in public.

By your logic this party was never going to have 60+ people at it because the room is so "empty".
But it did because ones angle does not a whole party of guests make.
That's close to 60 people in that room right there, most on the floor level, and it looks smaller than the rooms we're seeing in this NYE party.
If you think those rooms we're seeing for the NYE party can't fit 87 people in them just because you want to stick to this ridiculous notion of 2 parties because you can't personally stand the concept of a joint party since you'd have to stomach making peace with the Jocks for one night then you're kidding yourself and you're being very unserious in this whole thing.
Yes you are correct that they agreed on an equal amount of parties. But this was parties jointly planned with the HoTs. the DiKs can still throw parties as much as they like, just without the HoTs.
I think Sage only mentions this because of the stress of trying to balance the need to honor traditions (of partying with the Alphas) and what the HoTs actually want, which is to party with the DiKs. (I could be wrong of course).
Personally, I think having a party with both DiKs and Alphas would be a disaster, it's quite literally a powder keg waiting to explode. I just can't see those 2 frats coming together in any meaningful way at this point of the story. Perhaps once they find out who has been sending the letters they'll team up for Nerd hunt, but not before that.
It is precisely because Alphas and DIKs dislike each other, and Sage is aware of this, that she decided to have a party big enough so that neither DIKs nor Alphas would have to talk to each other and cause such big problems. I'm not saying that this will last long into the future, but it might work temporarily during the first such party. Then there is a possibility that the Alphas will find out who is really sending the blackmail letters and the problems between DIKs and Alphas will eventually be solved on their own.

Stop drinking blue milk. You're bringing up a portrait of Heather and comparing it to the trailer, which was shot in a wide-angle. Your desperate search for possible arguments has just sunk to a ridiculous level.
But the screenshot below shows a good comparison to a real party.

I'm using your own argument against you, the claim that just because you're not seeing a lot of people in the background means there won't be a lot of people at the party and that the room can't fit them.
It's you who provides that ridiculous argument when clearly it means nothing since there were other people in that room where Heather was, you just didn't see them because of the angle of the shot just like you're not seeing the other people in the rooms at the NYE party because of the angle of the shot.
Your absurdity in trying to deny there are more people in that room based purely on a single angle is laughable and pretty sad, honestly, as is your claim that 87 people can't be there when the DIK party room, which is smaller, packed in close to 60 people.

You might be right. I just don't think Sage would take such a massive risk just to keep Dawe happy.
And why only Dawe (and by extension, the Alphas)?
Because their parties suck. No one else will show up to them unless the HoTs are strong armed into going.
It might be funny to see the scenario where there is a "joint but separate" party between Alphas, DiKs and HoTs. With one side being DiKs partying with the campus and HoTs people and on the other side Alphas being miserable in their sausage party.
I think this might be the only scenario I could see happening, but it would do little to resolve any issues between the frats.

Dude, I only see six people in the trailer, and that's in a wide shot. Damn, even Chad is totally confused because Arieth is already watching another girl dance. I see Sarah and Melanie, who, given the emptiness of the room, are glad that at least Sage's boyfriend, the MC, is still there. The MC is sitting on a stool next to a bar table, or he's leaning on that bar table. Yeah, here comes a foreign word for you. It's called logic. There's a bar table, even if we can't see it. Why? There's a candle in front of Melanie. Either the candle is huge, like 1.5 meters tall, or it's on a bar table.
So, the angle, which is significantly wider than the Heather portrait, shows the party's dance floor. Out of 87 people, only the pregnant Arieth is dancing with one other girl. Yes, I know, the other 81 people are in the gym's locker rooms and showers.
Logic You can write whatever you want, you can only see 6 people from a relatively wide angle.
