I have a problem with the game..

When i startup BB, everythings fine, and i get to the Main menu, but as soon as i press "New Game" it all goes grey, i cant see any pictures or any text. (total blackout)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

As far as i know, there wont be more updates to the game.

The download is the full game and this problem only happens if you try to overwrite the old files or so I have seen.

I have tryed to delete and redownload the game, but the problem still occurs.
I would love to get some sort of fix for this, as i have heard a lot of good things about the game, and therefore really wanted to try it out for myself.

Then its your computer because you are the only one reporting this since it was uploaded on the 2nd.

Thanks, i have made an post there now, and hopefully someone will be able to help.
I just cant see how its my computer, its a pretty big rig with everything up to date etc.

Sorry, do not indicate that it is the same version and the same file downloaded, apart I have tried it with V12 (BigBrother_v0.12.0.005.CG) and V13 (Big_Brother-V0.13.0.007).
And the same thing happens in both versions.

CG is just the pics, then your computer is not able to handle the game or you have problems with your computer.

If your not able to see the pic in the CG then you have a problem with your computer.

Well I don't know if he will do good with glamour but one thing that I know is that he has done a hell of a start (not in a good sense), first of all because he changed from a male MC to a female MC, many people care about it. The second thing is that he tried to sell male MC as overly simple and boring compared to female MC, which tells that he doesn't have a lot of imagination.

Overall the game seems better than Big brother, however there are a few... issues that are triggering all my alarms:

• Many different NPCs, who are going to live their own lives. Main character is just a part of the world, not the center of it.

In big brother they lost the concept of time truly fast, making a development based on finding scenes and that's it, I hope that they are able to achieve it but I fear that in the end this is a false promise, this would mean that the multiple stories of the NPC's would be developing at the same time which would be quite interesting if it's true.

• The main character—by the way, this time the main character is female—will be able to interact with NPCs and change their behavior, tastes and preferences.

Second big alarm, while it's great that interacting with NPC's and changing them (especially tastes and preferences) seems great, from what it seems they are gonna be having a big number of NPC's, so it gives a feeling that it will not be true, that or 10+ years of good development.

Those two points are incredibly hard if you have a big cast of characters, the usual thing is one of two, having few characters but with a lot of scenes, changes and evolution or having a ton of characters but with few interactions. Trying to have both you need to have a proper team, a good quantity of money and a great writer. Just saying but the writing was the biggest weakness of Big brother.

I raised this concern when Glamour was first announced and I'm very skeptical about these grand claims as well. It just doesn't seem possible to flesh out a city full of unique characters who can also change their personalities and behaviors with the way this dev team approached BB. There's only so many renders they can do, which like you said either limits them to a few deeper characters or many characters with limited interaction, or a 10 year development (which may be just the dairy cow they're looking for).

The BB household was only 8 people, including the minor characters like Eric, Olivia and Kate, but really only 4 lead characters, and they BARELY developed any of them. These are paper thin characters who don't behave consistently, don't grow or evolve in a realistic way, and don't have any motivations outside of sex and money. I can't see them being able to create believable, independent characters on a much larger scale, and to also have those characters be changed based on player interaction.

Here is my original post and DS response:

Man, based on the development of BB and the way those characters were handled, the description of Glamour sounds like something this team of devs isn't even remotely capable of pulling off. If they couldn't even create a single household of believable characters with interesting stories then how in the hell do they hope to create a town full of unique NPC's with interesting stories who's tastes and behaviors are also determined by MC interactions? That sounds entirely too ambitious for a team that didn't even get Max out of the house for months.

Thats what we are trying to do. And according amount of people asking about BB chars destiny, a lot of people do believe in them

I think he mistakenly thought believable characters was equivalent to characters people were invested in. But they're not the same thing at all, and their claims about Glamour indicate they are going to create multiple believable characters with fully fleshed out independent lives, who also grow and change based on MC interactions. I just don't see that as being even remotely realistic based on what we saw from BB.

@CunningPig Obviously I think the same as you, I won't say anything against the art but in game mechanics and writing they are quite bad. I even did a review in this thread explaining why I thought so and even as a joke did a tiny document taking the base big brother with what I would have added/changed to the game, don't take it seriously if you read it because it's very basic.

I am having an issue with v13, (although likely v12 content), but when mom comes back from the 'job' at midnight, the only option given to me when at her room is to leave!! No other option is given, is there a fix, do I need to reinstall and just hope? Let me know if anyone else has had this or has a fix.

When the initial screen loads for BB, its off-center and I can't see the Load or Play buttons. Game was working fine for the last few versions. Anyone know a fix? Thanks!
