I don't really like it anymore, but that's a separate thing from whether it is a game or not. I think it's slowly going from game to visual novel. It's being stripped down and made more linear. We have the illusion of choice without actual choice, or at least anything that makes a difference.

So call of duty Modern Warfare is also VN since it's linear.See in VN you don't have to roam around in the house and do some stuff in VN scenes are directly shown to us you don't have to wait for it since it's a novel basically with images and sometimes sound and most of them are dating sim.
Choices have consequences in that game though. If you don't shoot at someone, you get shot. You go the wrong way, maybe you die. Nothing you do in BB really matters though, other than to advance the game. You could reduce this game to simply pushing the space bar to display the next bit of dialog, and at this point it would probably be an improvement. Moving around or clicking on different dialog choices is a waste of effort. Hell, even having to push the space bar is a waste. Just have it be timed so you don't even have to touch the keyboard.
It doesn't have to be a game. There's nothing wrong with being a VN. Except the writing sucks, the story sucks, and so on. The only thing going for it is some nice renders, but nothing really to back it up. I fell into the trap of falling in love with the look, and then seeing depth to the other parts of the game that just wasn't there.

I care for the characters, and perhaps too much. Enough at least where I don't want to see things with Alice and Lisa continue down their paths any more. At least knowing that's the only option for them. I want more for them and Ann then just becoming porn stars. But it appears that that is their only future. I guess it has been from the beginning, when the first cameras were set up. It's different though once you get to know the characters better, and when they know they're on camera.

I agree, the whole become pornstars don't really sit right with me. DS has said he don't know how to write certain stuff, and that could be why he choose to go down the porn route. IMO it is not sexy turning girls/women into pornstars, and especially when they are supposed to the MC's family. Could use corruption lead to lust/love, or seduction -> love and lust. It's too late to go back now, but one could skew it towards something else onward's. But considering DS want to introduce more BDSM(ugh) I don't think it will happen. Despite all the negative it does look like emotions of the females are turning into something good for Max, but there is all the other stuff that's still there.

It's not a sandbox. It has nothing to do with it as you have no real influence on a plot or anything. Roaming around the house doesn't make it a sandbox. It's a VN with really specific gameplay. Many Japanese games is like that - even Sengoku Rence is VN/strategy. Comparison with FPS is really really bad. It's a gameplay that distuguish it from being something else and FPS is pretty easy to notice.

It's a turn based erotic game for 18+ players. A sandbox with multiple scenario lines which are crossing with each other in some unexpected and non-trivial ways. Almost all of player's action is important and may change further doings.

I know that. It's an obvious crap. In which point player can change further doings? Multiple scenario lines? It's not even a turn based game. Developer can call a game whatever but it won't change its essence. I can call a GTA a point & click adventure game but it won't make it a one.
Wow, the blurb from the webpage is so far off now. It represents perhaps what DS once hoped the game would be. And I think that when you first start playing the game, it feels like it could be. But fast forward to now. It's not a sandbox. Multiple scenario lines are being merged. And few if any of the player's actions, past or present, are important or will change things. Like DS describing this as "The incest game of a lifetime," it never fulfilled that promise. It's still very pretty to look at. But I don't have any desire to see awesomely rendered images of Alice domming Lisa during a cam show, or many of the other things that are coming. Ann returning from the BDSM movie doesn't sound fun to me either.

I played through the game again and literally just clicked through the dialogue not paying attention to what I was clicking and it doesn't change anything. All you get are few different dialogue lines here and there, that's it. Perhaps that's why Lisa is so popular, her story actually matters based on your choices at the start. Mom's story (especially in 0.10) is very one dimensional. You literally CANNOT mess it up.
