Choices have consequences in that game though. If you don't shoot at someone, you get shot. You go the wrong way, maybe you die. Nothing you do in BB really matters though, other than to advance the game. You could reduce this game to simply pushing the space bar to display the next bit of dialog, and at this point it would probably be an improvement. Moving around or clicking on different dialog choices is a waste of effort. Hell, even having to push the space bar is a waste. Just have it be timed so you don't even have to touch the keyboard.
It doesn't have to be a game. There's nothing wrong with being a VN. Except the writing sucks, the story sucks, and so on. The only thing going for it is some nice renders, but nothing really to back it up. I fell into the trap of falling in love with the look, and then seeing depth to the other parts of the game that just wasn't there.

But the choice and the "requeriments" to each oportunity is what give you the ilusion of inmersion, and have you (maybe not you) to care for the caracters.
