Well, Snow Country won the nobel prize for literature. Well, technically it's author Yasunori Kawabata won the prize, but the book was one of three cited. It has some amazing imagery, and I just adore it.

That's the mindset that allowed the PC to lose market share against Apple. My own advice is a bit bolder. Don't be afraid to reach out and grow a new audience. Sure, it may be a gamble. But it will pay off in the long run. I'll bet even a majority of the old audience will come around too.

More than that especially in games since this is a gaming forum. Mobile is number 1 in gaming now and PC couldn't stop it no matter what. It just shit change and trends. You know whats popular always sell the most. Not everything pay off in the long run.

Second - guys, be a bit more optimistic about BB destiny. Really.

you can let the MC watch the max show on the internet and add BB mini updates, there should be no problem since there is no audio xD

Remake your Patreon page from BB to Glamuros for saving your fans. Send this news for everyone of them, like you do when this problem starts, and keep making a money (I am sure that fans are not going anywhere). After that BB will go deep-deep-deep undercover, but secretly will be released every month. I dont want an "abandoned" status for this game.

It really depends on many factors. I can't make a promise that BB updates will happens in next <put your term here>.
But they can.

It's too much with the doom & gloom. There's always the chance DS will find a way to go back to it. The game won't be frozen because the developers lost their apetite for it or got bogged with other jobs in their life. I am pretty sure the developers are even more pissed than we are about the plug being pulled.
Not only it is a good portion of their income it's also what they have been working on for a year+ and I believe it's something they are all proud of.

Take a hint from Glamour from example: DS re-launches his previous game.
I haven't played that game to know how good or bad it was nor why DS couldn't just continue with it but had to relaunch it.
But evidently, he's a developer that doesn't let frozen work die.

And since BB is one of the best games (there are like 15 games in the popular games) with thousands of patrons, I'm pretty sure even without playing the previous Glamour that BB is much better than it. So yes, I have reasons to believe DS will eventually (like in a year, sorry buddies) continue with BB.
