Not to mention the flashback in the crystal ball shows the MC was literally accomplice to this plan. His mom never would've done it had MC not literally walked her down from the cliff and promised her he'd be fine. Even though he doesn't know why they did it he literally knows that he was in on it and agreed with them at the time, and he's still whining about them going behind his back.
Like for fuck sakes little 8 year old MC is showing more maturity and rationality than the flaming douche nozzle we're playing right now.
Should fucking rename him Giant Pussy

you also forget to say that he leaves just when his mother is about to tell him the reason, saying that now he knows they won’t tell him anything...

nice update as usual and finally mc had sex with his gf/wife to be, also lookslike he (we) will need to make decision in future if we save 1 girl or other.

scrshots:

1. we don't mind, 2..3. choices, 4. usual fancy restaurant dinner, 5.-8. well he's scared early but soon overcomes it, 9.-10. favors and favors, 11.-12. not gay, whatta relief.

So I played the game for the first time.

The renders are very good, not in the same league as the best games on here, but better than average for sure. The writing needs work. The later chapters got progressively better or I became numb to it at the end.

The LIs are great and Lisa is best girl.
Diego is a male best Friend that is not actively pissing me off and is not some unfunny cringeworthy asshat. So Diego is great, good job with that.

The overarching story is cool, but some parts are severely rushed.

And some things are, even in-game, Bullshit.

They send him to live in the city on his own at the age of 12.
What?

No, seriously What the Fuck?
How did he get money, was he working as a cashier or what? Sorry but that is just dumb.

The scene with MC, Diego, and the Hybrid in the fastfood joint.
WTH?
GiftedRaggedCony-max-1mb.gif

Man, I get why Amy in the bathroom is a choice between taking advantage or leaving. But what is that sex is bad, Christian, puritan bullshit in the Amy, Jessica, Diego scene on the street???

MC: Hey Mate, I don't know why but those two hot chicks want to bang me. Do you mind giving us some space?
Diego: Sure, man. Have fun. But you need to tell me how you made that happen.

MC is honest with his friend and has a threesome. Everybody is happy and there is no need to be a mind-controlling a*hole in this situation.

The scene with his parents in the last chapter, I believe, you did that for story reasons, but MC acted like an a*hole again for no good reason because his mother was about to tell him if he could wait five more minutes.
So I hope you have something planned for MC to turn around on this.

Imho, you should look into flashing out the beginning a bit and polishing the Dialog in the first two maybe three chapters.
and fix The Bathroom Blowjob animation, they are horrendous. Amy's hand was clipping through our body everywhere.

But "chair up" over all your doing fine (< see that MC Quote :ROFLMAO:)

I did not like the part with the parents. So many games do the same thing when someone hides the truth about something to save them. The MC always gets pissed and never listens to anyone. The lady showed him in the Crystal Ball that he agreed to it, and mom tried to tell him. come on so tired of the same shit.

I really enjoyed this. The plot is a little predictable though but still looks good. Few spelling mistakes but not that bad. Animation is clean. A very good job. Problem with making someone all powerful though is they have to have a weakness. Even Superman has one so you might want to think about it. Clearly the blood list isn't it, and you took fire out as well. One small suggestion I probably wouldn't have just given the necklace to one person so fast. I would have made him decide later. Gives you more options if you decide to kill one of the 5 potential mates along the way. Design the connection differently for each and therefore the loss is not the same when one of them dies. BUT you have to make the different connections realistic so that when someone dies, the reader actually feels the pain. So 5 paths with 5 different pains of loss sort of thing. And remember that scars come in many forms. Also the angst with the parents that turned into "you are no longer my parents" that isn't real. Have actually been down that path. Getting rid of toxic isn't as easy as just saying it is done. Usually it takes about 3 betrayals before family calls it quits like that. So it was a little sudden. It also looks like you are thinking of heading down a faery, orc, or whatever it is in the basement path as part of a harem. That could be interesting. Faery are very fun to write into any story if you ask me. Can give a comical chaos factor to change the mood. Let me know if you want some suggestions. Really good work though. P.S. Oh and on a side note, giving characters a title instead of name is a bit lazy. Not hard to come up with a name instead of the "The Doctor". I did like the plague mask touch though. That was funny. Same with the information lady. Was having trouble figuring out if she was a witch because of the purple eyes but the face marking that appeared were confusing. All characters need a name to give them some form of substance. Small traits, quirks, back story to give them feeling in the story.

Killing one LI is a surefire way of burning your game to the ground. Multiple LIs and not even an Archlich will be able to bring that game back to life.
Not always (Acting Lessons comes to mind), but it's not so easy to pull off. I also for sure wouldn't do it too early; anyone really wanting that LI and losing them would have little reason to continue the game. If there were a choice, that might mitigate disappointment / anger somewhat, but if you like all of the LIs it wouldn't help.

At the same time "Acting Lessons" gets also mentioned every time the topic is how you don't do it.
(Never played it and because of "that", I never will)
SOME POINTS ABOUT ACTING LESSONS
I will never understand this perspective. I believe all of those thinking that are wrong. They don't have to agree with me, obviously. Film, game, and literature critics often disagree with each other, so I'm not too worried about differences of opinion. They have their view and I have mine.

However, you did specifically say it would "burn your game to the ground". I don't believe it did any such thing. Audiences tend to be pretty unforgiving when it comes to adult game LIs. Devs make some major fault and most patrons suddenly jump ship like lemmings over a cliff. I find it a hard argument to make that it was so devastatingly destructive to the game given the dev's massive success afterward.

In this specific case, DrPinkCake's Patreon account began on 23 April 2018, when he started working on Acting Lessons. By the final release, the patron count was 2,240 and there had been no dip (other than standard dips everyone sees in their subscriber counts) either a bit before it or a bit after it. It's been more or less a steady increase until about November 2021 when it effectively plateaued (again, with the typical peaks and valleys any dev would see).

Rather, to me the scene made it memorable and emotionally moving. And I know a lot of people are harem lovers and so riot over something like that, so I would assume at least a good chunk of complainers were of those folks. But just b/c even a lot of people may have a hard time with a game's outcome doesn't mean it wasn't successful. Even if you disagree about the outcome being powerful and excellent plot development from a writing perspective, I still don't see any way you could successfully make a case that it pretty much guarantees your game will nosedive.

THE DIFFERENCE WITH BITE: SEASON ONE
All of the above said, conditions here in this game are not equivalent. The game has not gained the same momentum, the developer is not as skilled / experienced as DrPinkCake was, and the twist in the other game was near the very end, whereas here it would be still reasonably early in the story. Given that this game is divided into seasons (based on its title), if the dev felt something like that had to happen, I would expect the tragedy to be much closer to the end of the season. And you can't necessarily, but even if we could rely on the versioning number as an indicator, let's suppose this went v0.9 to v1.0 and that was the season end. If that were true, you're still just barely halfway to it. IMO that's too early to kill someone off.

But as I've said in this forum before, the style of this game is also different. Whereas the other game was heavily adult in themes — relationships, conflict, tragedy — this is more of a teen drama with adult scenes (i.e., porn). That means themes tend to be less mature and less developed. Reactions of characters are less complicated: Person A did X, so Person B likes/lusts/rages at/despises Person A (for example). Because it's written in the style of a teen novel generally, it tends to be less capable of connecting its audience with its characters. I'm not saying it can't or that it shouldn't, just that it doesn't.

On the general success side, so far the dev has seen slow-but-steady growth: an increase in 6 months from 0 patrons to 44:

I don't think that's bad at all for only 6 months. However, it's not the kind of momentum that is as likely to let something like that happen without a serious effect on patron count. It won't necessarily be an issue if he chooses to kill a LI, but I think it's taking a risk for sure. I suppose we'll see if it pays off in the end — if the dev even decides to do that in the first place.

And you're entitled to your own view. I didn't see it this way at all, though. I did all three major paths, the 3 different LIs: Megan (actress); Melissa (her good friend); Rena (actress met at the improv session). I very much enjoyed all of them, even if the ending was still tragic. However, this is no longer a risk of going off-topic; it already is off-topic. So, agree to disagree, and I'll leave it at that.

game was near the very end
that's the only things combined with the fact that it was a time of bigger scarcity than now in the AVN market that let him live through that, It was not feasible to drop him outright.
I for one don't trust him and will play "being a DiK" only if it is finished and doesn't have those lazy bullshit twists. But from what I read he once again struggles with continuity and reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Reason it out however you want. The fact of the matter is that it does not guarantee a game will go down in flames. But I've already expressed why I don't think it's a good idea to do that generally, and especially not at this point in Bite.

I also BTW don't know why you keep shifting topic to another game that I brought up in passing as one example that shows an exception (it didn't go down in flames, period, whatever the reason). Yet you continually cling to that like a dog in heat to a leg. I'm not going to keep discussing another game on this game's thread, and I'm done with this conversation in general. (It's exactly why I said I never got into discussions about that stuff; I don't like conversations that literally go nowhere.)
