Thanks guys, I managed to do it now that I was more properly prepared, it seems that casting omniblessing twice did the trick as not only I could debuff the boss but also break it after that using a normal break, didn't try the gun one yet. Guess it does have something to do with the stats as I was already level 999 in the previous attempts where the break wasn't working, or maybe because I advanced the story a bit? *shrugs* Anyway the boss is a pushover now that the break is working properly, thanks a bunch for the strategies and attack patterns.
