Kinda sucks old saves almost never work but i'm very glad dev had enough foresight to let players start where new content begins & most of all there is a scene gallery with all previous scenes unlocked.

I understand with new Renpy releases & dev fixing/adding/changing coding or whatever some or all saves get broken.
However the biggest thing from my point-of-view to remedy this situation to make things easier for patrons /players & dev themselves is to have a scene gallery that unlocks content up to previous version like this game does.

Actually the best way is better planning at start, having your story finished at least roughly and knowing what you need at start and implement all those variables in first update already. Then again these devs are pretty inexperienced most of the time, so it is understandable they make mistakes like that. At a certain moment though especially when game gets bigger it gets time to remedy those early mistakes.
