At this point I think devs with the talent to continue or remake BBS should just make their own games. But make it close to BBS in story and style, except with less blue-balling and stupidity from the MC. Make it actual incest instead of some patch or customization so that instead of awkward dialogue we get angry protests from the sister or mother that the MC is a pervert and they could never have sex with their own brother/son/whatever because it's illegal, immoral, gross, and they don't want a two-headed baby. Then make incest references so much when sex happens that the non-incest fans openly mock it and even the incest fans laugh and shake their head sometimes, but who cares? Porn is full of contrived stories and bad dialogue. That's what makes it fun, and repeatedly pointing out whose cock it is in whose pussy and how taboo it is and how no one can ever find out just makes it ridiculously sexy for someone like me. # Not only should skilled devs make their own games as that's what is actually happening (hence the dry spell of BBS games). But unfortunately they go astray ( story, models and feeling wise ). Blue balling makes some sense unlike stupid grinding ( cheat mods are almost compulsory to make a game somewhat playable ).
Out of the box incest is frown upon by Patreon, prohibited even, and I don't think that will go way any time soon ( given the cultural censorship wave spreading across the free world ). But I don't find it all that relevant as long as there's a proper patch that works - you can always swap to the incest dialogue using a separate scripts.rpy file (incest first screenwriting approach).
We're not doomed to get poorly written porn neither does it make it any more appealing (the parody amusement effect can be quite short lived). I don't enjoy erotica like stories but I'd like some consistency and depth in game stories here. Arousal by circumstances/events is a real thing and should be better exploited.
But at the end of the day we still love these quirky games - you're not the only one.

Probably wouldn’t be so many abandoned games if they weren’t so god awfully slow developing the storylines. I know some in here that slow burn crap, A Perfect Marriage” but I won’t even bother playing those.

Come on folks... either the game will be updated or it won't (which is looking like the more likely outcome TBH) but all this endless bitching and moaning is accomplishing nothing more than to make you all seem like angry children.
