Hmm, rather than developers and all that I always thought that the player base is the biggest issue in everything. I mean, it must be annoying as fk to make everything optional so that people don't see content they dislike and then have to take it into account for future scenes.

Personally I believe that we will come into the best adult games when we as players can get a bit of tolerance for fetishes we dislike and just skip them, unless it's an extreme hate that you have against that fetish, in that case just skip the game.

But well, this is just an opinion.
That's probably the biggest mistake people make. They shouldn't be trying to placate players. They should write a story they want to with one audience in mind. Trying to appease to many people is one of the worst things developers can do.

That's a 100% correct!
The majority of people don't want a great story, they don't care about quality, they want fap material, lots of girls, quick updates. That's where the money sits, and that's - of course - where most devs will go.
Look at which games are at the top spot in the community, it's either pure fap-material with lots of easy to get girls and simple story, or games where the dev is doing quality stuff for a loooong long time already. There's basically nothing in between.
Not sure how accurate that statement is.

I'm not exactly sure what you want to tell us with the link, it only shows what I was saying in my post.
Btw you don't need to make a single post for every quote, you can put several quotes in one post.

That's at least something we can agree on, but the sad truth is that a lot of people don't think so (devs AND player).

We already have Tags and Search so I don't understand why they should try to please everyone. You can make a much more focused game.

The Premise is wrong from the start.
The Patreon model of drip feeding content doesn't really work with Big Story games.
It takes Eons for things to develop anywhere, IF it develops anywhere and doesn't go on perpetual Hiatus or Abandonment.
Most of you aren't exactly master writers either that can maintain interests for months.
So can you really blame them if they want something more reliable?

Analyze things through the lense of the Content Updates Pacing NOT Game Pacing.

Story games are completely unbearable, which is why I don't play that much no matter how good, maybe if they get finished, but they never are.
If you want a Middle Ground it is Gameplay. If you make the Game that is Replayable you can get compounding effects and not diminishing returns per Update.

Most "Sandbox" games here are laughable, they have no Game Mechanics at all.

What is more reliable, a dev who hastly pushes crap content out every month/every few weeks, risking his health and producing low quality content in the process, or a dev that is dedicated to produce quality?
Sure there are dev's who do nothing more then milk their patrons, but that's usually quite obvious, even though some people tend to be blind... anyway I don't blame anyone, I'm just telling my point of view.

The ones that you can Fap every update? If the Update can satisfy from the start than there is no Waiting Around in the Equation.
Quality writing requires Time. Time when you are Playing the Game with the setups and payoffs in the story.
And Time when Developing the game which will take substantially longer than simpler games. It's not impossible to get the "relationship" of a character to the level of a Fucking Scene it can take a Year or more.

Furthermore most developers aren't in a position to do this Professionally for a living, and Quality Requires having that kind of support.

Only because you can't fuck every pussy on first sight, doesn't mean that you need ages to get there. Yes, even a good story can have sex scenes quite early in the game.
Usually the writing part is the easiest part to finish, writing doesn't take the biggest amount of time when creating a game, even when you have trouble finding ideas, there's other stuff that takes much more developement time.
But seeing your edit in the post where you first quoted me, tells me more then enough, it doesn't really matter what I write here, you have your opinion and that's absolutely fine, but don't come here and act like you know anything about good story games and what works and what doesn't.

Maybe, my wording of it created the confusion.
There are many different types of stories. Milf City & Summertime are similar in nature both cover events that happen over a period of time. That's like reading the news paper each day to me boring as hell. It isn't like a character that has a greater quest of some kind, there is no great struggle or anything. I mean add a goal to it that is the overlying story. Raise money to buy a car, take a trip over seas, get grades up for college, help the family pay for home, pay for your own schooling.... Something that ties the story more together and is the primary struggle and all the rest of the stuff fills in as part of how it is accomplished.

Summertime lists a few like that raising money for college is one, mystery around fathers death, and prom date. However, playing the game and its mechanics is unbearable. Take the something as simple as a teacher saying to see her after class. When class ends you can't do that at all no matter what. You are forced into other crap. With the French teacher you are kicked out of the school and end up talking to the neighbor. You can talk to her the next day. You can't however on the same day bring up the subject of tutoring and you sure as hell can't see her in her office as she says to in the conversation. Chemistry teacher same issue it turns into night time you are kicked out of the school. All this because they chose this idiotic 3 part day systems and then force you into some stuff. Also you are supposed to have gone back on the second day to help the the lady with the garden again per the conversation. But you can't. You end up mowing the law to help with chores spend a $100 on a gas can and gas. Then you go to school. The point is the game mechanics screw with the dialog. Trying to deal with that shit through out the game is not worth my time it irritates the fuck out of me and takes any enjoyment at all I had in the game and crushes it.
Again, the goal of those games is not to create an in-depth or sensible storyline with big conflicts like man vs man etc.
Can there be? Sure. Does it make the game bad? No. And that is not based on my personal opinion but rather on the amount that plays and enjoys the game. It is, afterall, one of the biggest games out there.

Yea, sorry. This is based on my point of view haven't quite learned to read other people's minds and write from their point of view yet. I know I should take a pole of people and see what they think. Then list out their response. Or maybe I could just post my view point and other people could chime in and say their views. O'yeah hold on I did that!
That's like flat-eartner saying how we know the earth is round. We don't need to make things up and base everyone on our self to figure out some of the numbers and facts out there.

I pointed out your post by showing that it only consists of your own ideas and not how it is and hence how it is not valid.

The only things that really change are the character names, locations, and general plot out side of that the games are repetitive as fuck in other ways.
There are a limited number of game types:
Control - protagonist seeks to gain control of others
Downfall - the protagonist decline usually in behavior sexually and or other ways socially economically
Management - you run a business
Those are a few examples. You can find them mixed with each other and other types.
This is where you claim it is simply your own point of view and not based on any factual evidence or anything. People then go on to show you games that go against all that and you brush it over by saying "I didn't like them" and go back to your original point like the previous post never existed.
But it is facts, and not an opinion, that there are games out there that do well without those things you mention.

And I could go on and on by quoting each of your points and show you that it is not how it is.
The main difference is that you base it on your own mind and experience because you believe the only way to gain data is by being a mind reader, while I try to look at the actual games that exist out there.

This is exactly why I didn't use names of games to start with. Fan boys like yourself get upset when someone says something negative or doesn't align with their views on the game. You can't simply accept other people have a different opinion of the game from what you say. Your right everyone else is wrong. Not everyone on this post has disagreed with me. Nor does everyone agree with me. That's how life works people have different opinions that each other and grown adults who act mature can handle that.

That isn't in depth shit we are even talking about. We are talking about basic fucking shit like having the dialog actually match what the character can do. telling a player to talk to someone about a topic and that not actually being something they can do and so on is shit programming and development.

That's like flat-eartner saying how we know the earth is round. We don't need to make things up and base everyone on our self to figure out some of the numbers and facts out there.

So you are saying I didn't make a post and that other people haven't expressed their own opinions on here some in agreement and some not so.

Let me explain it to you in 5 year old speak.
I created a post with my opinion.
Some people expressed they agreed and even liked the original post.
Some people also disagreed with me.
That's normal.
I could have used other methods but I didn't I chose this one.

If I wanted to do a complete review of all those games I would post reviews for each one of them.

Milfy City the author has a very loosely designed story. No real goal set even so called therapy doesn't have an end time other than when she chooses. Its a cross between harem and here is what happened over this period of time. With the game mechanics and way the game flow takes place any real choice are illusions at best. Might as well just be a book you click through it would save button clicks and time. You can't really do anything majority out of order or anything else.

Summertime Saga is technically worse. He could even get the dialog to match up with what the character is supposed to do when he is supposed to do it.

I chose not to do a negative review because both games are in the middle of development and both games could technically be fixed even if I doubt that to actually happen. But if you like I can absolutely go ahead and do a review for each of them that is 10 times worse than what I wrote here. I could go into character issue inconsistency and plot problems and a lot more.

I know what you really wanted was me to do that for all the games on this one thread correct.
I'm not doing it. I didn't want to discuss specific games because of people like yourself.

At this point I see no sense in further continuation of our conversation. Its an utter waste of time talking to you.

I generally think there are people who use an opinion like yours to excuse crap products and work.
I could say the same about yours, the recent Star Wars fiasco comes to mind. Too many people tried to defend it on the basis of "subverting expectations" that they dismissed the simple fact that it completely failed to do what it set out to. Then you had the idiots poo-pooing fan service and the rest is history.

who defended "subverting expectations?"

I'm pretty sure GoT season 8 and all the recent star wars got shit on big time for subverting expectations(tm).

Guess you must not have been very active on the internet when The Last Jedi came out. "Subverting expectations" was the now infamous defense why it wasn't crap, when it clearly was, along with that Asian actor who no one remembers. Of course, then the last movie came out and no one could defend that utter crap, so here we are.

Also, I have to say, it's incredibly ironic considering the subject matter, that you are bringing up GoT, when it was previously infamous for having crap writing, yet getting by on the fact that it pushed the boundaries of what HBO considered outright porn.

You got it mixed up buddy. The producers and directors defended their inane script by saying it was subverting expectations. No one bought that shit.

When Arya pops out of literally nowhere and ganks the night king, the producers mentioned that they wanted to subvert expectations during the commentary and essentially the entire fandom shit on them. When Snoke gets ganked like a chump, they said it was subverting expectations and is there anyone on the internet that takes The Last Jedi seriously?

"Subverting expectations" attained meme status for describing shitty writing that throws out build up and foreshadowing for some cheap plot twist that comes out of no where. No one defends that shit except the people who produced that garbage.

Not sure how what you are saying has crap to do with my opinion. Recent star wars was shit. It reeks of the excessive placation I am talking about. They wanted to be inclusive of females in the franchise and went over the top turning Rey into a Mary Sue.

It wasn't enough just to put a female character in that had the same issue as every other Jedi, no she requires next to no training, is more powerful ... Unfortunately for Lucas and Disney they took to long in realizing Kathleen Kennedy was pushing political agendas over a quality product. Thank God the finally fired the bitch.

BUT.. to be f air.. these games really need a team to make them with some high end equipment. You need a Really good writer, a good game designer and a good artist. Or a few people who are a combo of all 3. AND You need daz not to blow the hell up. Id be releasing a game right now but i have a huge problem with daz thinking all my scenes have duplicate morphs and t hus i cant use renderalot etc. The people who made dmd and a few others are actually not wastes of space and spent a lot of that money on hardware and a team so they can continue. But honestly..90% of game started here are some dude who saw a game and discovered daz.. made 30 renders put out a .01 then just quit. We need people to team up each doing what theyre best at. But to be honest thats an awful lot of sharing your sexual fetishes etc w dudes so..
Pretty much this. Most developers are making the game alone (and are for the first time.)

Now imagine you have to code the game, make the art, music (when applicable) and also a good script. It's no easy task, and no matter how hard you try there will always be someone to complain about something (the art is shit, the code is unoptimized, the story is bad).

I'm not saying people shouldn't complain, sometimes it's the only way to make the dev look at what she/he can improve in the game, but, because it can be very lonely, sometimes complaints can have the opposite intent (look at what happened to The Wish's developer).

I don't want to excuse bad games/behavior, but I think we should take a look at the dev's context before throwing rocks.

Just my two cents.

I'm one who is talking against crap products, against half ass works, against using excuses to make them no matter the reason.
I'm the one totally against excuses here. That's the fucking point of this post.

But some how me talking against the excuses is an excuse that people are using to make crap products.
WTF side of stupid gets you to that point. They must have drop your ass on your head as a child, repeatedly.

Story conflicts:
Man vs Man ~ This is the struggle between two beings.
Man Vs himself ~ This is the struggle or the internal conflict a person goes through making a decision, living with an action, dealing with what is going on & so on
Man vs society ~ The struggle can often include values and expectations
Man vs nature ~ Enviromental factors and how they effect the individual
Man vs fate /god ~ Some people will say Gods an entity or being, while others will say fate or destiny is environmental it has to do with time and nature. The point is it usually covers struggles a person has with their destiny fate or religious deity expectations...
Sometimes developer inventing conflict: cat VS lesbian secret society. Having lowest rating on the forum from it and start thinking about shifting to more traditional conflicts...
