If I'm not mistaken it should be released sometime this month based on their Discord. When 0.2 update coming?
Twitter, everything gone. I dont think that they are forced to erase it all.Maybe Nintendo hit them with a DMCA?
I believe StarParty's page said that this is a fan-made creation. It was a parody. They didnt hide anything. Parody should be an exception to copyrights, right? Or does it must say "parody"? If Starparty need help, maybe we can support them? I looked for Samus parody and thats why I supported their work. If it wouldnt be a parody, I wouldnt support them. His statement on Discord: (Damn I hope I get my reward)
Everyone Hello my dear supporters and BHS fans. I knew this day could come one day but I didn't think this early and not in this way.... You might have already noticed but my Patreon page was taken down. No chance to even react as it happened instantly. I was pretty confused at first and wanted to contact Patreon but once I opened my mail I knew what was up. Both Patreon and Nintendo itself wrote me a message.... Patreon just wrote a short statement that due to copyright violation my site was taken down and there is no chance of recovery. It's pretty clear that Nintendo had contacted them. My site was a few times under review and they didn't complain at all. Seems like that not even Patreon want to mess with them. But Nintendo was pretty straightforward and harsh what they think about my project. They made it very clear that they don't tolerate any fan based games.... especially when they earn money with it. But that's not all. I didn't only had to stop my project but was also charged with an enormous penalty fee.... They totally went overboard with it. As an average earner this is way too high to pay off. I'm not sure if it's ok to tell the exact amount publicly so I'd better not. I don't want to piss them of any further. They are really not happy about this entire project... If you ever encounter some1 developing a similar game as mine with earnings, please tell him to stop. Nothing good will come out of it... So what are the plans for the future now? Well, I'm literally broke when I pay off the fee. Maybe even in debt... I'll have to see how I come up with the money. However I'll try to nicely ask them to lower the fee. If I'm lucky I might have just to pay them the money I earned from Patreon. If not... then I have to try to stabilize my finances first. Nevertheless I was never some1 to give up easily so I'll definitely return to the stage. I'm not sure when and in what way but my it's not over yet!
Everyone Lastly, I'm going to compensate every Patron befitting by his Tier and amount of pledges. I still need to handle and think about a bunch of stuff so please be patient. Once I clean up this whole mess I'll be back with more information. This Discord server is the only way to notify you right now. Important: Unfortunately I don't have any way to look up the Patrons anymore. Please leave screenshots of your pledges in the #helping-spot section. Otherwise I can't give you your rewards. Thank you!
I guess you´re right but who has the money to go to court with a mutli-billion company to determine whether you´re sex game (that´s what it is) is a parody or not ?I believe StarParty's page said that this is a fan-made creation. It was a parody. They didnt hide anything. Parody should be an exception to copyrights, right? Or does it must say "parody"? If Starparty need help, maybe we can support them? I hope it is not true.
(Obligatory "I am not a lawyer," but) That depends on a lot on a whole host of things (where the lawsuit is taking place, disclaimers and their prominence, how close the details are to a "real" game, whether it's monetized or not, and so on), but the most important part is whether or not you can afford to fight the case, even if you're entirely in the right. I'm pretty sure this is a lost cause even if they did have the cash to fight the case though, considering the similarities and the monetization.Parody should be an exception to copyrights, right?
