Realism is all fine and good, but here may be game mechanics at work, too. With that I don't mean you cannot change it (except for the game may not care for the values you create) but that the dev has specific things in mind how it shall all work out.

Not as important for exposure, but for funding. It is easily the biggest and most well known platform of its type. In fact, it is this push away from allowing developers to follow their vision that is pushing people away from Patreon. Not that many are discovering the alternatives before discovering Patreon, really.

Agreed, I don't mind it, but I won't go out of my way to play that content. If it forces it down my throat, I'm out. The same goes for any content.
Oh yeah if it's just the skippable bullshit where it still happens you just don't see it, I won't play either. I don't mind playing games like the spellbook for example where you have two paths one love and one ntr. That for me is fine.
