Those are called collateral damage. their will always be people who suffer regardless. still those creators have other means to earn their pay and patreon was just one of them not the only thing. So yes they will lose some but maybe with something that is happening will mean that something better then patreon would come along.

Could you not just take the game off patreon, but still keep the page for previews and dev updates? The actual game wouldn't be there, just "random" pictures and news about the "random pictures". Patreon can't ban you for content that isn't actually hosted on their site.
Yes they can if you use patreon then patreon will also check 3rd party sites and if they break the TOS then the developer will also be called on it. that is why they now targeting patches too. As long as developers keep using patreon then they should also accept that a patch is not possible or else patreon bannhammer will be swinging pretty quickly.

So content on 3rd party sites is not safe as long you keep using patreon.

Patreon is a difficult place to make money now for many AVN Devs. Subscribestar looks to easier on the rules. Plus from what I hear Patreon takes a big chunk out of many devs pockets forcing them to increase prices. But let's remember there are other revenue streams outside patreon devs can use nowadays.

Look, you lot can bury your heads in the sand and deny it as much as you like but a lot of people rely on patreon to fund their projects, these devs included.

The second patreon goes under a lot of devs are going to give up and a lot of games you lot play are going to get abandoned.

You can cheer for patreons demise as much as you like and frown on anyone that disagrees with you but you lot are the ones that will lose out.

No other platfrom will bring in the support for devs that patreon can due to lack of payment options, especially the big ones.

Without patreon there will be less devs and less games.

Whatever, i'm done with this subject, none of you seem to put any thought into it at all.

I keep seeing subscribstar mentioned, it's never going to be as big as patreon was. It doesn't have the big financial backing nor the payment options.

If a dev can't make money on the biggest platform possible, they won't make any on a smaller one. Use some fucking common sense.

That's not quite what I'm talking about. I'm talking about literally creating a cover so that they (patreon) can't ban you because there is no link between the patron page and the game. Patreon don't check anything themselves, they rely on people reporting it. If they actually did check themselves, they'd ban just about everything from just looking on this site.

The patron page just exists to post pictures, there is no mention of any game, or even the names of the characters in those pictures. It is literally just like any of the other patron accounts that post that sort of thing, just pictures and dev updates of those pictures.

Let's say they do somehow discover the game "I don't know what that is, I'm just making these pictures. That game isn't mine, I can't control what people do with the images I create." and they can't prove you're lying. There is no game on the patron page, there are no links, there are no patches, there are just pictures that happen to be in a game but I didn't have anything to do with it. How would they prove your lying? They can't ban you for what "someone else" did with your work.

To be honest, I don't care what relationships are in this game, (honestly just harcode the first names and use no relationships, we'll get over it) I just want to see it play out as this is one of my top 5. This dev has faced enough personal turmoil then overcomes that to be faced with this new challenge...

Yah know, the obvious advantage porn movies have over these games is that you can just skip to the good parts. Nothing wrong with enjoying some teasing and postponing gratification ofcourse, but goddamn if I have to wait another fucking year to see that sweet scene where we get to cum deep inside the aunt and mom!!!! So sad now!

Of course there are other potential revenue streams, but none are yet to be built to be as dependable and trustworthy as Patreon's service. Other revenue streams use shady payment processors that have complaints galore. Those potential headaches will turn off a lot of people.

C-Plan v0.04 (80% - on hold*)

*Following our private message to you guys early this month, for now, we decided to focus on re-coding the whole game to comply with Patreon Community Guidelines and Terms of Services. We will keep the current characters design, but we might have to change this game's story/narrative. We're also doing some research right now whether to keep the current game engine or to change it. So the next update will be like soft reboot for this game.

He only got killed because he admitted to breaking their TOS, they aren't doing anything to other devs. If they wanted to make some kind of statement they would target bigger devs not someone who has 59 patrons. As I said before in this thread anyone with unren can change the game. Devs can't control what people do with their games once they release them. They aren't punishing him for the incest patch. They are punishing him because he admitted that the game was breaking their TOS.

So what happens now will we still be able to play with an incest patch for those who prefer that kind of game?
