So far it feels like Restaurant talking simulator, hardly any choices for me to go with. Pretty linear story line where it's being pre determined for me regardlss of my choice. I'm surprised this has gotten the reviews it has so far. I'll keep going for abit.

Since there are only 2 LI's there aren't that many choices to make. The reason it's as popular as it is is because many people disagree with you about the story, most think it's really good and of course the quality of the characters as well as the renders are superb.
If that is truly how you think of this VN you might wanna stop playing since it's not gonna change, we are more than halfway through the story.

The reason IS to be fillers or the story might have become a little stale/boring from a lewd standpoint. The story might be the main attraction but it IS still a Adult VN so some lewdness is expected. Not to mention they expanded the MC's backstory.
And as for those fillers, they where good stories as well so I have no problem with them.

You are absolutely right. My post was a little one sided because in my perspective if we were to assign blame to a couple of kids who were raised as siblings but had romantic feelings for each other I would tip the scale towards the MC because he was the one who ran. Hurting his parents and sister in the process due to shame. In reality I don't blame any of them and I guess trying to deal with those feelings at that age would prob have ended poorly as they lacked experience and maturity.
I just don't understand the hate for Jaye. She is a product of her experiences as we all are. She felt betrayed multiple times by the MC but she remained loyal and supportive even if from afar. There is imo, more deceit from Mallory in the short time she has known the MC than he got from Jaye their entire lives.

I disagree. The "Jaye path" is a story about renewal. It's about clearing away years of misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and emotional crap, so that an indestructible underlying and undying love can reunite two people in the never before acknowledged relationship they always desired. If you're on the "Mallory path" you get to decide whether or not you and Jaye return to being trusted siblings.
The central tension in both paths is how your relationship with Jaye works out (or not) going forward. Given Jaye's feelings toward you, resolving your relationship is probably equally difficult whether you end up intimately involved or not.
The story works fine, it's just not a smooth path for anyone.

The developers are trying to build a story that will interest people for a while. To do that they add characters to flesh out the plot. Would you have asked Tolstoy to eliminate all those other irrelevant characters and leave us with Pierre, Andrei and Natasha.
We may not need War and Peace here in a porn game, but for this game to be memorable, we need to have a fully fleshed-out story, which must include side characters of note.
