I'll make a film analogy. Most, not all, but most games on this site fall into the following categories; Uwe Boll tier garbage, Tommy Wiseau tier "it's so bad, I can't stop looking" disasters, Lloyd Kaufman tier sleaze, and Michael Bay/JJ Abrams tier mindless entertainment. Nothing wrong with that, sometimes you just want to turn your brain off and be entertained.
Philly Games is the John Ford/Scorcese/Coppola of this medium.
If Philly is the Scorcese/JohnFord/Coppola of this medium, Dr Pinkcakes without a doubt is the Leon/Corbucci/Tarantino of this medium. His writing and set up more closely resemble that of a show scrip than any other. Being a Dik coming out in seasons with each season having an arc for each character with their own developments is not only unheard of, its beyond innovating. Just like leone/corbucci/tarantino he is driving the medium foward
Ok ok... but who is then the Kubrick of this medium?

I won't argue with you about that, I did say that BaDIK is one of my favorites. But there is a huge difference in the quality of writing between DPC and Philly. My comparison was only to show that Philly is a rung above everyone else when it comes to storytelling, characters, atmosphere, etc. Maybe a more apt comparison would've been Philly Games is Kubrick/Hitchcock/Scott(Blade Runner, obviously)/etc. Directors considered to be extraordinarily brilliant but never won an Oscar for Best Director. Both DA & CoBD do not get the recognition they deserve.

one of the best games agrees and what did everyone find in that BA DICK? the plot is openly licked from the American Pie and here there is a story and characters that you are interested in and there isn’t such a thing in Being DICK.

He hasn't really needed to, think about his title he is a ghost and in his actions, that's how he acts it's more about stealth than all-out brawls easier way to take out your enemies than getting involved in an all-out brawl
I dunno man I feel like he's gonna end up in some sort of wild shenanigans with a certain Red.....lunar event.

I just found your game, and holy crap, Philly is a God.

Also as a side note anyone else feel like MC hasn't really gone all out yet in a fight?
I think he gave it all against Henry, but an argument can be made that he was just trying to knock him out and there is still a "kill'em all!" mode to be seen.

I already discussed Philly in BaDIK's tread, why not DPC in this one?...

BaDIK is a love letter to college movies, finding things licked from them is just as natural as finding scenes or plot points of anime and super sentai series in Del Toro's Pacific Rim, or stuff from every movie ever in a Tarantino one. Furthermore, DPC's focus is relationships, the plot is an "excuse" to move those relationships; Philly focus on plot and worldbuilding, the relationships are "towed" by the plot. I, for one, am glad there are distinctive quality devs focusing on different things.

True enough, MC is a thief, not an warrior. He's points were allocated in mobility and stealth, not power and HP; hopeless in PvP, but only if you catch him in the first place.

More of Her Plz, Would really love an ending involving her....
Two possible endings for Ms. Depravity. The first is a Shanlon-only ending. In exchange for not reporting the info she obtains on Gloria's powers and whereabouts the MC agrees to be Shanlon's Doc (dick-on-call). That's similar to a doctor that makes house calls (Katie), only the MC will be on call 24/7 to treat Shanlon's pussy yearn with a hard over-the-counter pounding :KEK:

The second ending allows the MC to be with the other girls. This ending results in charges & convictions on stalking, aggravated kidnapping, and rape. Shanlon hired Charlie the Futa Fucker (Tex) and his merry band of tran... and his mercenaries to help her kidnap the MC. It was a very violent kidnapping. Shanlon then restrained and "raped" the MC an uncountable number of times over a 14 day period ... Wait. I mean  Shanlon will serve 16 years (consecutive 8 year sentences on the felony charges) in Valley State Prison for Women (it's much sexier there in 2042) :BootyTime:

Both of these endings are dependent on Shanlon's "dick drunk" score (hidden stat). I'll let you decide which of the 2 endings are good and bad :sneaky:

After a quick search of keywords and a lack of desire to search all 260+ pages I hope this isn't redundant.

The Red Moon in the game appears to be misinterpreted. In the game it seems the English for the Red Moon (or Redmoon) unit is "atatsuki" built by the "Atatusuki Zaibatsu" in game. Aka-i (赤い) is "red" in Japanese. Tsuki (月) is "moon" in Japanese. Should that be Akatsuki? Also, due to onyomi and kunyomi readings (different sounds for the same meaning/kanji) it could be read as "sekigetsu," such as in use of a person's or a business' name.

Also, the glossary and the in game info from Victoria aren't consistent in spelling and spacing.

Finally, thanks for the awesome game. Keep up the good work.

If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism - Personally, I wish there was a bit more background for the protagonist. Ghosts seem kind of weak from the start with how six of them were already taken out without much impact or sense of danger. Maybe a John Wick like memory when Ellen is trying to hire him at the club? Or during the team-up with Sonja investigating Henry's bunk? Something to sort of explain or give the impression of why the protagonist is able to be picky in his job selection at all, i.e. how much of a badass he is/near the top of the game.

Just had to make an account and say I appreciate this game a ton. Recently got into Western 3D VN's after playing through some Japanese ones in my youth. This is some good shit. Honestly one of the best stories written, better then depraved awakening for me but that's just because I was never into private eye stuff.

As for top 5's. I haven't really played a ton but this is for sure in there.

Story

1. Acting Lessons
2. CoBD
3. Being a DIK
4. Depraved Awakening
5. Halfway House (Best humor in a VN from the west I've seen, Acting Lessons had it's moments too.)

Anyways, just wanted to say thank you philly. I might sometimes wish your games had more action (Not the lewd kind) from the MC and more choices of physical aggression or violence in the game that you could choose. But that's just me nitpicking and my bias to enjoying badass MC's (Witcher 3 being a prime example of powerful MC immersion.)

This game gets me excited to see what the future holds of these types of games in the future. Japanese VN's stagnated in terms of tech just due to the fact of 2D immersion is always going to be writing influenced. I feel like 10 years from now, you and some of the other devs are only going to get better and more ambitious with each project. Shit y'all might end up making studios instead of just single devs making solo projects. Skies the limit and I'm along for the ride. Best of luck with you finishing CoBD!

Constructive criticism is always appreciated. So thank you for it. It can be a fine line hinting at backstory without getting lost in it. I can say more information about a lot of the characters will keep coming out as CoBD continues.

Akatsuki is the correct romanization, there might be a mistake somewhere, we do have a few of those which I thought were corrected. You might notice that Zaibatsu is a bit of an anachronism as well, as Zaibatsu were technically (but not really) dissolved and turned into keiretsu in the real world. A lot happened in the world of CoBD between now and 2042. But back to the main point. Akatsuki is also a bit of a neologism, it should probably be written in Katakana, but using the kanji for it in a couple of places is just creative license.
