Story goes like this: Originaly update was supposed to happen in september. Nothing. December, nothing. At the end of january dev said that he is done with renders, only code, text and few renders left. Ok, he also changed his workflow which will make things easier in future. So, 2 months wasnt enough to finish code and text? I dont want to accuse dev, he seems fair and good guy, but i dont understand, how does he think things will go on this way?

I think it's too early for that unless we get a flashback from the past, since we already know that something happened between them.

The last dev I was following who argued being too perfectionist ended up abandoning his game after months of distress.

I don't know man, there's plenty of mediocre games on this site to choose from, many of which fell under the radar because of their mediocrity and still get abandoned.
Try lowering your expectations before trying to lower the quality of the product.
We wouldn't have all of these amazing games if everyone decided to take the line of least resistence.
Imagine having to wait another year for that development. If we ever get it and the dev doesn't just drop the project instead.
