Completely agree, the post you quoted is as unproductive as the ones it was aimed for. I'm sure it's with good intentions, but it's still complaining about complaining. Serves absolutely no purpose, and people have valid reasons as you pointed out.
Let me get this straight, I'm being unproductive by calling out unproductive criticism? Following that logic, why bother being critical at all? In lieu of a "productivity" rule on this forum, I'm providing negative feedback to people who can't keep their comments productive to the conversation. You might think my post was unproductive because you didn't need to hear it, but there are people that do need the negative feedback.

Let me clear something else up, if people want to be critical about the game or about how Eroniverse is developing it, that is inherently fine. There are a number of replies that do just this in a constructive manner and that's great. What I like to see are reviews and criticisms of the game itself and even concerns on whether he'll keep releasing or not and what's going on in the development cycle.

What I don't want to see is people who don't pay a single dime to support the dev crying about how he is milking his patreons. And like I said above, even if you are a supporter, if you don't like Eroniverse and what he does, you can reduce or cancel funding. If you were funding him and were not happy with his release schedule, you should have already thought about this. I don't want to discuss all the flaws and merits of the entire Patreon system but in this situation, where the dev is very close to finishing the game, the solution is simple.

What I also dislike are baseless accusations that the dev is abandoning the game. And trying to compare this game (which is still being actively developed as of right now) to other abandoned Patreon games is disingenuous. Yes, there was a very real concern with how he didn't release an update for 3 months, I was confused and upset too. But like I said, the game was already close to finished and we at least had some communication from him during the past few months. Imo it was a big overreaction to assume the dev was giving up on the game. And of course when we see the light at the end of the tunnel, we have more accusations of him milking the game out. (And it looks like the update is bigger than normal!)

My bottom line is that, although I may have used some emotionally charged wording, I felt it necessary to get my raw thoughts out there in the face of the unfair, impatient, and immature (much more than mine imo) responses we have been seeing in this thread. I like the game and I've been here since 1.3, but I'm a moocher just like everyone else here and haven't spared a single cent to development. I don't even care about Eroniverse that much, but I never felt the need to constantly bug this thread with how slow development is. Anyways, my reasons to respond to them might as well be the same as your reasons to respond to me, so let's leave it to the mods to decide what is actually productive or not.

(Btw setting aside the topic, Zerorox, I hope you are safe and doing well. I know from a few friends in the country that shelling has increased and many places lost power for a while the other day. It may not mean too much from a random stranger, but I wish you and your country the best.)

That's a lot of text, I'm just gonna focus on the bolded bits because I really don't want to read all of that, sorry but it's not that serious.

I'm saying your post is one that has been seen and peppered through every thread that I've seen on here. It's not serving any purpose but simply letting you vent, it's not going to change the people complaining even though they don't pay a dime.
I just don't find it productive, it's just one random fapper's opinion on the matter, not a indictment on you as a person. I'm merely suggesting you're wasting your time.

It's completely okay to be critical of the game as far as mechanics, characters, story, etc especially if it's constructive criticism, but the complaining and complaining of the complaining is where I tend to tune out. But given that this is only your second post, it's not really aimed at you but more the practice in general.

Hello, it's the first time I play, out of curiosity, why suddenly the drawing style changes from 2D to 3D? not to criticize or anything like that, just curious haha

I have to say, the irony of this response is palpable.

as a supporter in patreon, i just decided to call it quits. the guy is just delaying because the game will be finished and he'll lose patrons. so we should make him lose patrons anyway.

the release was supposed to came out two months ago.

but anyway, it's just porn :D

Gonna break my lurk to call out all the crybabies that have plagued this thread throughout development. Even when he was releasing month to month you people weren't happy. For godsakes he was >85% done with the game when he took a break after having been releasing every month. It's pathetic that we have people complaining about what is a pretty good game (and it is a good game, otherwise you wouldn't care about the release schedule) just because they can't get over the fact that their next fap isn't coming quick enough.

Especially in regards to the Patreon funding; probably most people here are lurkers who don't even shell out a single dollar to support the dev. And even if you are a supporter, if you're unhappy with the release schedule, you have the option to cancel funding. Quit acting like he took thousands of your dollars and ran. If he still has a healthy amount of money coming in from Patreon even after his hiatus, it's because inherently his supporters are positive and believe in him, so who are you to talk?

I think criticism can be a good thing, and I personally would criticize Eroniverse for managing expectations poorly before his hiatus and also for his lack of communication. But it wasn't that bad, definitely not enough to warrant the constant whining in this thread, and it's pathetic how unsympathetic some of you are. Life happens to everyone, but it's only okay when it happens to you, right? I've checked this thread pretty often in my excitement for the next update and I've been getting really tired of the moochers bashing on the dev for what could have very well been a major event in his life. Grow up.

quarterly or bi-annual releases.
I'm not sure why so many of people think that having updates faster than every 3 months is going to provide better content from part time amateur devs. It's pretty clear that that when such devs speed up this process it only leads to very small releases with scenes that have minimal updates.

Now whith the addition of dedicated full time team members and/or AI that can deliver consistent art (same quality images and poses) or dialougue (scripts/interaction) that delivery date expectation should evolve as well

I'm not sure why you thinks that's what people are saying. Updates used to be fast, regular and good. Hell I think people would be reasonably happy if he went at half the speed he used to. However he changed the art to make it faster at the same time as actually becoming much much much slower.

It might not have been in this thread but I've seen a lot of people wanting content faster and forget that part time amateur devs are putting the games together on the side. So lets assume a dev works primarily on the weekends and limited time outside of their daily duties. That means the dev has 8-10 weekends worth of work every 2 months, The dev may have also discovered that trying to migrate processes during mid project may be more time consuming than expected, there could feature creep by adding more animations, etc. Another thing to remember is that there was an update on 2022-09-10 even if it was a bug fix that was work put forth. I'm not trying to shill or defend the dev it just seems the expectations that some have may not be considering a reasonable timeline for development of any amatuer project
