Charlotte's perkiness in Chapter 2 can be summarized as extreme elation since knowing someone in her birth family had been her dream for the longest time. She wanted to know that there was someone who could be considered blood out there and wanted to know that that person loved her, since she was bullied as a kid for being so obviously adopted. "Yo mom don't love you" jokes were easy to become a victim of for her and it's just as easy to fall into that trap, thinking that those jokes may hold weight when you don't see or feel anything that says otherwise for so long.

I know this is a spoiler so if you don't want to answer then I will understand... Will we meet any of her adoptive family? Anyone else from the MC's life? I know we are early on in the story but IIRC in the original version the cast of characters were very much skewed toward "friends of Charlotte" versus "friends of MC/Chris".

Oh and as someone who isn't a fan of the contrived nature of Harems I must say I am very skeptical of that... Hope that every woman doesn't immediately want to spread her legs for the MC and only him. However, I am giving you the benefit of my doubt.

So she's definitely perky by nature, but I made sure to calm her down by the end of that day when she visited and sort of feel bad about being as clingy as she was. On any other day, she's a far calmer person in general and her energy is more controlled. You just happen to be introduced to her as she's riding quite possibly the biggest and longest high of her 19 year life lol.

No worries, as I said I was mostly joking. Wouldn't mind if she was goth though... LOL

Also, saying this now, this is gonna be slightly retconned a bit in the new version, but just slightly. The idea was she tried to be fairly negotiable in her relationship, but as it turns out, it didn't really sit right with me, seeing as she knew the MC far longer than her ex. It feels more natural that there would've been some push-back there on her part, which put weight on her relationship, so that's gonna be highlighted more.

TBH that was one of the reasons why I objected to the sex scene between the two of them. That and I have a particular distaste for unavoidable sex scenes. I know this is your story, but as a player of the game you are making of your story I would like to have choices to make, at minimum who the MC has sex with... I was less annoyed because it was Ayane and the render is great, however the fact that she seemed to very easily accept cutting the MC out of her life bothered me so I am glad you are altering that. And it bothered me that the MC was so accepting of being cut out of her life, having her then walk back into his life, and then shortly thereafter having unprotected* sex in a very public place.

*I know in porn games everyone has unprotected sex and it's all a fantasy where no one gets a STD but she'd been with her boyfriend (now ex) for a year.

Anyway, as you know, I am going to support you through it all. Well, not sure about the harem idea, but I am willing to wait and see. I have faith in you.

You're....huh....let's say partially right, sorry to burst your bubble lol. This is as much Ayana and Michelle's story as it is MC and Charlotte's and all of their stories share an overarching theme and lesson. As the title says, they're "connected" through this theme. I don't think that theme is really a mystery either, but I'll allow you guys to figure it out once you learn more about the characters.

I agree. I said this before I released 2.5 I think, but Charlotte's route is set to begin after a few chapters of getting to know the cast in a general sense. I'm very excited to show her off. All my characters are the best at something which to me really makes them grounded in reality. To me, she's the character with the most range.

Also, perky is just a word for bubbly or very expressive. Lively.

Anyhoo when is next update coming just curious.

Sometime October? Mid to late? Give or take a few days? I'm working day in and day out, but I'll keep you guys up to date as usual. I know you guys are antsy. After this, I definitely want to try and maintain a 2 month cycle between each update. The only reason it's taken so long this time is cause of all the scatter-brained preparations on my part from May to July. But it's coming! Rest assured.

Yeah, I've been on record saying this, but a harem at this point in time is just a plan, nothing more. I want it to make sense, if I do choose to go through with it. For me, it's not as simple as "I love him and you and I are friends so lets just share, right?" That's the common route harem games take.

These girls are their own characters. One act of kindness isn't gonna make them bow to his dick, their love for you and each other doesn't mean they're gonna accept sharing among each other and most importantly, they're not always gonna agree with you, even if your heart is in the right place. The MC isn't always right and his word isn't treated as gospel.

They will look out for each other, but that also means that their support and comfort may be misguided on occasion. It's a story about mistakes and I want that to take priority over the dream of a harem, though it would be nice. Perhaps I can make it work, but I don't plan to sacrifice the worth of their characters for a wish-fulfillment thing. But it is something that I do want to achieve and make it work. If I can't, then there won't be a harem and I'll have the tag removed. Simple as that really.

Me too, but I also felt like I had to make a good first impression with some sex scenes. It's one of those traps new devs like myself fall into. Also, while I do dislike unavoidable scenes, I hate choices that boil down to "sex scene" vs "skip content".

It's part of why games like Pandora's Box don't really do it for me, cause that's all that game boils down to really. "Wanna see a sex scene? No? Okay, hold this 5 minute update with no scenes." Not to throw any shade at the game or the dev, but I just don't like it when that's all a update comes down to, so I opted to have them unavoidable.

Not to mention Ayana is the only character the MC knows and can readily fuck whenever and I don't intend to have him fuck Charlotte or Michelle any time soon. I don't want to oversaturate sex scenes with Ayana, but I also wanna throw a bone when I can. For me, it's a task of trying to balance out the mindset of a dev as well as the mindset of a player. What do I want as a dev but also what do I know I would want as a player as well.

The MC and Ayana used to use condoms, but they've fucked so much that they just stopped when it comes to casual home sex and Ayana takes the pill or the MC will just bust in her mouth or something. And it slipped my mind in the shower scene because they would've used a condom then. They've had all kinds of sex so they know to be safe. I'm glad you brought that up though, cause I need to remember to have him wear a condom when I redo that scene. Condoms aren't fun, but neither are STDs.

Well I was not in any bubble in the first place (Atleast I think so)but i get why you would think that as I favoured charlette in that post.
It was just what I thought title meant, now you cleared that up as it's more of a cohesive of all character being connected so that settles it down.

Well, I want to avoid spelling out what a character feels in the game. Having a player see all the character's thoughts isn't a point of interest for me because it takes away some of the mystery of their struggles. It's also a story line for the future. I just planted the seeds early.

It's a question without an answer right now, because I'm telling their stories in a certain order and hers isn't until much later. You're intended to learn about these characters as the MC learns, so you won't be privy to info that the MC himself doesn't know. Most times anyway, there are exceptions of course.

What I can say without spoiling is that she's not out to hurt you. Her past relationship is what she considers to be a mistake that she wishes people would forget and she has no intention of doing something like that again. Again, it's been retconned a bit, so the version you played doesn't really have a place here anymore.

In the version you played, she seemed to have attempted to cast the MC aside to make her relationship work by her partner's demand. In the retcon, she doesn't do this. The MC and Ayana don't fuck while she was in her relationship, and she didn't spend any nights at his place either but she kept close contact with him over phone and work regardless, which led to the breakup and where we start in the story.

Hope I answered your question. I wanted to be thorough in my response, but I also didn't wanna say anything that could've tipped you or anyone else off before I have a chance to explore it in the story. You will have questions, but don't expect them to be answered vaguely or fully for some time in the story. What I can say is whatever you're feeling about these characters, just allow yourself to feel it, and react as the game will allow you to.

If you feel like it's a risk pursuing Ayana, then simply follow through. For all you know, it may work out. Don't play in an attempt to avoid making mistakes, that's not the goal. There is no right or wrong response/action in any point in this game so far, especially this early in the story. Mistakes won't lock you out of any route or give you a bad ending of any sort that you wouldn't see coming from a mile away yourself.

All of my characters are mixed in one way or another but grew up in minority or working class areas, hence the slang. If your curious about the actual accent just for better characterization, they speak with a New York accent. Obviously youtube or something can help you or anyone unfamiliar with a NY accent. More specifically a Bronx accent. The strongest accents belong to Michelle and Ayana. The weakest accent belongs to Charlotte.
