Every writer wants to make their characters amazing and super likeable, with mc being nothing but a player's "view port" that exists to bathe in the glory of others. Mc is written by every author as a support character for their own OCs.
If you check the wiki, you can find that a lot of characters were actual character the writers played in DnD games. So I can safely say that most writers, write content for the NPC. Basically the MC is just a camera for you to view their imagination.

They have very little semblance in the story, for example: you are forced to take cait if you want to progress the main quest and even if you dont take her, she shows up everywhere as if she is your companion.

Also, for me, this is has too much porn, to the detriment of story. Again, for example we have the first blowjob scene by Cait that happens during the tutorial.

The funny thing is, Tobs wrote Nakano to be as hateable as possible, but he actually ended up one of my favorite foxes.
He was written that way to make it so that no matter which Kinu you have, one parent is approving of her mate while the other is against it. Nakano is so hateable to make you feel what Kiyoko feels towards Hitoshi.

But giving him all those flaws actually pushed his character out of the 2d template of "look at me, I'm an airheaded vampire fox who thinks only about sex and mischief".

I'm supposed to hate him, but I only feel... pity? Dude's been treated like trash for being born in a colony, has to lead a mockery of a garrison while being swamped with requests, gets beaten by outsider, and now his crush also is hitting on said outsider. I don't want to hate him, I wanna help that homie before he becomes alcoholic under all that stress.

He is meant to be detestable, but I wish more characters felt as "real" as him.
Ah yes Nakano, The Below-Budget Sasuke from WISH that is actually rejected by WISH itself.
I do find it funny that you compare that guy to the only guy trying to make an honest living without being too much of a dick 'coz he's probably one of the few tolerated characters I know in the den.

You mean that piece of shit who thinks he's alone even if he's surrounded by people who care like his own damn grandmother?
I haven't seen a positive thing about that guy, he's bitching 24/7 while trying to act like he is the bigger man, something that he won't become since he keeps up with his close-mindedness and arrogance.

The only reason he softens up to Kinu is because she strokes his fragile-ass ego.

Guys like him will never know true suffering until everything's taken from them.
His current "burden" is nothing compared to anyone that actually experienced it, it's more of a ramblings of a spoiled, pampered child with closed mindedness and tunnel-vision.

That first fox lady we fight during the den visit is already written way better as a character than that piece of shit because at least she knows basic etiquette like COMMON SENSE.

I don't know if they changed some info from him but if they did RETCON his backstory then MAYBE there's a chance I might like this guy.

I do agree with you in a way, I pity him too because he's written as a fox den character aka spite content by tobs.
A cold, distant badass with the cliche' burden fits this game's world tbh and I can see such a character archetype to be popular.
"REAL" characters like this are very common in real life, I know a lot of 'em.

Look at this shit, I'm starting to write like tobs now.

Player character just sits in the tavern with no goals in their life until the true Mc of this story barges in and drafts the player to save Mc's sister from cultists.
They have very little semblance in the story, for example: you are forced to take cait if you want to progress the main quest and even if you dont take her, she shows up everywhere as if she is your companion.
This is why, to me, the best ending in the game was already written even if unintentionally.
By refusing to assist Cait out of your own free will the PC moves on with their life to do whatever you (as a player) want to do in this vast world filled with possibilites. Better yet, they can still sleep with a clear conscience because whatever "gods" and champions exist in this world should most certainly wipe the floor with Kasyrra if she took things too far.
After all, the PC is nowhere near (and in some cases never will be at) the same level of power as some of those individuals.

despite historically blue being a woman's colour, and red being for men even in modern colour theory you un-learned fu-)
Cant find anything about red color codification of a manliest man if all man, only that pink=boys and blue=girls. Thats besides obvious 'red is the color of blood so it mean danger, violence, and SUDDENLY love, sexuality'.

But that's what makes him endearing to me, he is like a tiny mutt on the street who won't stop barking and biting you. You kick him to shoo him away and at the same moment feel bad because of how pathetic it is, it's like kicking a puppy trope, except that puppy tries to bite you.

That first fox lady we fight during the den visit is already written way better as a character than that piece of shit because at least she knows basic etiquette like COMMON SENSE.
To be fair, I think this is a difference in perspectives. As a lupine with an ork and a minotaur in my party, beating everyone first and then asking questions is the common sense for my mc. :KEK: I'm still bitter I couldn't kick Komari's ass because of the stupid amulet. Given how they view anyone who is not a Kitsune, Nakano's aggression makes more sense than trying to talk.

A cold, distant badass with the cliche' burden
But Tobs isn't trying to pull it here. Otherwise, he probably would've written a dozen of scenes where we almost die only for Nakano to appear and gracefully save us, while everyone talks how good his poetry is.

Look at this shit, I'm starting to write like tobs now.
Happens to the best of us.

I like him not because he is an amazing character, but because in an ocean of mary sue and coldsteel OC's in this game, he at least feels sufficiently flawed to be interesting. Especially since he is supposed to be an opposite of Hitoshi.
Like, he is a whiny bitch, but at least you can imagine a person like that living irl, what can't be said about many other characters.

Nakano really has one of the best bad endings............ removing the part where you turn into a woman but she's still good.

I would like it to be fuckable but unfortunately it is kinu content.

I wonder whether grabbing the genderbend armor and gifting it to Nakano , telling him that that is a gift for someone as amazing as him, would be something that Keros would appreciate.
He'd probably be standing by, wheezing and giggling, as Nakano takes the armor without a second thought due to his arrogance :KEK:

It's also the colour most picked by competitive extroverts, and is used for aggression. These are more commonly associated with, and attract, men. Seen brand labelling for male targetted products? Lots of black and red (and camo patterns of course, militaria is always popular in male advertising).
Please don't jump down my throat about this anyone who this doesn't apply to, it is the nature of the bell curve to cruelly lump large groups together.

Brienne is for getting dominated by men and dominating women. Same as Brint.

I wonder what the PC would do if they ignored Cait. They said they want to go somewhere warmer. Would they ever meet any of the people in the story on their way out of Hawkthorne?

Convert what to what?
Speed up pregnancy to instant birth? Trigger pregnancy progression scene?
For example, the save editor says that Hretha's Pregnancy Timer is 319411. The wiki says that under Short Pregnancy is 30 days. What I want to know is how this translates to Days and Hours. How far along is she? How much time before she gives birth?

4. Not a power fantasy. They seem keen on avoiding making the game a power fantasy and yet the PC is, for the most part, a god of sex with an awesome fort that impregnates anything that moves BUT you could not even consider killing/corrupting a "god" or getting rid of the fox-succubi/band of mercenaries/corrupted centaurs/random orcs (that still roam the lands and stay in the Frost Hound even if you wipe them off the map) because...?
The funniest part is all the godlike SIs.
For example, there is this wandering paladin SI of one of the writers. He is 9 foot tall and can 1 hit kill the final boss. He is better at sex than the MC, with a bigger cock.
The reason he doesn't just beat the demon invasion is that ... he can't be bothered. He genuinely does not care, they are beneath him.
