The thing about a lot of porn games is that the porn is often not necessary to the plot, especially when you get to melodramatic Ren'Py Daz games. A lot of times it feels more like a distraction than anything else, so I don't really believe the porn complements the story aside from a few instances like Pale Carnations or Hero Party Must Fall.
This is the real struggle, finding a game that actually manages to merge the porn, plot and gameplay successfully feels like panning for gold in a sewage outlet sometimes. Can't count the number of 5 star games I've played on here that turn out to be galleries with extra steps.

I dont know if this is a true statement.

All of the most popular porn games are, and traditionally always have been, the ones with involved stories.
ALL?
Koikatsu was #1 on steam for a time. Then there was Honey Selects dominating the scene for awhile. Wild Life and lovecraft are both printing money and~

I feel this needs further elaboration. Because what are we talking about here?
Games like Fate and Underwater Ray Romano (heh) that were able to exist into thriving series without the porn, sure.
Games like the first fencos own CoC, TiTS, and games like Honey Pop were games where the main story was secondary to the characters and the porn.

Then you've got the ones that against all odds hit #1 entirely off of the porn like Holey House or w/e it's called.

As it turns out, there are some porn games that work for story, some that have strong characters, some that run on the gameplay, and some that thrive off of good porn.

While some games have involved stories to carry their nature as a porn game, those games have consistently been able to stand without their porn.
Remove the porn from Fate or Utawarerumono and you still have series that spawned an enduring franchise.
Remove the porn from CoC2 and you have a subpar small world with bland characters, a medicore combat system, and multiple clashing writing styles with an inconsistent player avatar.

I should additionally state that the plot quite literally hasn't gone anywhere.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Like the biggest strength of text-based shit is you can go as in-depth as you want with characters and interactions but they just don't do that for some reason.
The reason is that it takes effort and desire.

As it turns out, there are some porn games that work for story, some that have strong characters, some that run on the gameplay, and some that thrive off of good porn.
You could dissect this even further. How deep things need to go before it's considered a "story"? For example, do people like maid outfits because they look nice? Or is it because they symbolize something that immediately prompts your mind to make connections?

I could search and find a mountain of porn of, say 2B. Is it really because the character design is so outstanding? If so, what's so unique about it that was never done before?

Do kids who watch Star Wars research its deep lore? Or are they pulled in imagining they're a fancy sword warrior?

When you play a game like this, do the words themselves turn you on? Or is it what the words mean, what images they create in your mind?

What's the reason behind "Show, don't tell?" Even a simple Wikipedia search leads to the exact same idea expressed by different writers.

These are all just my thoughts and opinions, but I don't think a story means books full of lore and worldbuilding. All it takes is to give you some prompts and let you and your imagination create the story.

Most of the writers have clearly grown far too attached to their pcs to let us abuse them. I can kind of understand, I've been a DM for almost 20 years now, and having to hurt some npc I love would pull my heartstring but this is a porn game. Nobody is invested in the story.

I like being a piece of shit netori fat bastard, I like being a harem master vanilla boy and I like good old ntr. Let me break Ryn into a pathetically adorable dependent trap boi, let me corrupt Cait into having even less self-respect than she does now and -truly- become the village bicycle, and let me abuse Kinu to give her an actual reason to hate me... Oh well, at least my anger at wasted potential keeps making me feel alive.
Honestly, I always saw Corruption genre being sort of separated into two areas.
The serious corruption and the goofy corruption
The serious corruption refers to stories that involve corruption that take place in a grounded world with a serious, believable stories that you can imagine happening to someone IRL. It's the reason why Emergence had a period where it shocked people, due to being presented as a more realistic take on the idea.
The goofy corruption refers to stories where the characters basically exist to be corrupted (or have that option). There isn't any drama in it - you are enjoying... dare I say it, a power fantasy of being this bastard who's cock turns any girl or boy into a total slut. There is little logic to it - if the story wants characters to become corrupted it will get there in the hottest, most bat shit unrealistic way designed to fulfil a fantasy.

CoC2... I can't view it as a serious story. It has moments and beats I can take seriously, but for me, it's a story about an average guy with a big cock who recruited a slut that can heal him and fucks anyone as her religion and a massive hunk of a bull who is his bro he is willing to bang chicks (and boys) with, who go to the forest to stop evil Red Woman and 90% of the local populace wants to jump on their cock. This is goofy and with good writing it's a simple, yet fun premise that can still include worldbuilding and story that is engaging.

Dark Knight, especially if it was actually realized well, could in theory make the game more grim with options of making characters vastly different, but in a way that is still activating my cock. However, it's really hard to say for me if it would be the right way to actually add corruption to the game.

Do I want to be the bastard that makes woman cry before turning them into mind broken sex slaves with Tobs being forced to write a 20 paragraph long descriptions of their inner conflicts and struggles? Or do I want to be some Dick Dastardly Richards, who turned his goofy pink cat into the local cum dumpster who enjoys every second of her new life and still goes onto the usual adventures with the MC?

I believe this is one of the reasons why Dark Knight is so undercooked. Devs aren't sure if Dark Knight should be this edgy, grimdark story or a vessel for the player who wants to enable as many degenerate and immoral content as possible without being barraged by angst that writers themselves aren't too interested in, because they care about their story the characters that they've put in the game too much. They take the story of the game too seriously to take a piss and embrace the goofy corruption, yet are too attached to do the serious corruption.

The plot of coc 2 is pretty simple. Kas is the big bad and you the champion are either in love with her or want her dead. So you gather your eccentric butt buddies to travel location to location Kas has been too and fix the bullshit she started, fucking and sucking every npc along the way.
I think this is a relatively engaging plot with potential and unlike the rest of the game it's really where the "corruption" in coc 2 is.
The real issue is the lack of focus on it, like devs straight up forget it exists and as soon as the plot stopped the world building did and the funniest thing is that Kas is essentially our way point on the map.Once she stops moving, the player character is just stuck between the areas she already visited.
So the pc is just stuck in a endless loop of walking in the same 9 explorable locations with some having more content than others and just doing side characters chores until Kas decides to stop playing Baldurs gate and actually complete the plot.
Now that's not to say I completely hate the side content, there's some shiners especially with Brihaus coming out but stuff like the Etheryn or Berwyn quest makes me wish I can just cut off some writers fingers Yakuza style.

Installing CoC II 0.6.24 - Modded:
This mod created for 0.6.24 public version of game, and this mod focused on your champion’s powers, easy fighting. So this mod doesn’t change storyline’s or added new story to game. Your save file in this modded game works and compatible with any version of game, because it doesn’t change checksum hash, your save file hash sum is a original and unique. (check the end of your save file with a text editor, you have a unique checksum hash and you are not a cheater!)

You can download the latest public version of game from " ".

NOTE: you can play this game in your browser, go to this path "game folder\resources\app", and open "index.html" file with your browser. (for android or iphone, open this file in the phone file manager with your browser like a Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or ...)

Installing: for installing mod copy all of content in the "Mod" folder into this path "game folder\resources\app" and replace them.

5.in the character creation added ‹24› extra perks to your champion. (don’t change your champion’s class in the game)
NOTE: if you change your champion’s class in the game, some of your perks with class flags will reseted to your new champion’s class, so you don’t have these perks with the class flags for your new champion’s class. (i could have been to change these perks flag to other or none, but i didn’t)

11.in the character creation you have a maximum virility, maximum cum rate per hour and high cum capacity for male or shemale gender. (you have a legendary orgasm!)
12.don’t choose Messy Orgasm for sexual perks, i added this perk from a begining.
13.in the character creation i added ‹+90› powers from the begining, included ‹6› ultimate powers By The Horns, Solar Cannon, Mind Snap, Berserkergang, Aurora Arrow, Aurora Of Vigor check your powers menu.

15.i added Wraithslayer’s Dreamblade in the Leorah Shop, check the shop to see this item. (this is the strongest weapon in the game)
16.i don’t change any weapons, armors and …, ? to create a new weapon, ability power or any new items, it makes your save file uncompatible with original version or next versions, because the new items does not exist in the other versions, and it makes a critical error.
17.all of these change’s can be writed in your save file.

Well that's the thing. I only said it's simple and relatively engaging. I used relatively because unlike the other quests in the game where there's literally no corruption choices to be done the main quest at least is setting up one if your lovers with Kas. I know the plot is shit, belive me the post was going to be even longer ranting about the games design, the devs, the writing and a small bit about the fan base but it got long winded and I don't wanna make everyone read a thesaurus length rant about a mid ass porn game that will never be fixed.

These are all just my thoughts and opinions, but I don't think a story means books full of lore and worldbuilding. All it takes is to give you some prompts and let you and your imagination create the story.
Then we're of a similar opinion. But I'll state that The Golden Rule still requires you to write something. It's not a golden ticket to do nothing instead.
The game has embraced (some) showing but also walls of telling.

Dracia sure has it's lore, there's entire memory crystals full of raw exposition you'll endure. It was half okay.
Mushroom dungeon sure has it's lore. It's full of literal bricks of text you have to endure.
A small slice of KM has it's lore thanks to Serena. Just the prospective looking out from the people within. It's alright actually.

There are regions where the characters are nothing more than their sexual inclination and fetish supplied with a tiny amount of story that tries and fails to endear you to their cast.

The mind can't work magic with so little stimulus.
If any of this is too abstract:
When you play a game like this, do the words themselves turn you on? Or is it what the words mean, what images they create in your mind?
Why play a game and not just read a collection of erotic fiction, some of which has imagery? Characters, choice, and projection, I'd wager.
A question to a question, why do porn games typically use a first person perspective even if the protagonist is clearly their own person?

It helps to meet the viewer halfway.
Create characters, hook, and narrative and people will do the rest. Eventually culminating with empathizing with and supporting the lead.

Else in a game it's just scenes no different than reading erotic fiction. Sex with no passion. Hardly the reason you play a game, no?

Just how TUF saved the UFC through the storylines, characters, and (for the more technical enthusiasts) an earlier establishment of professional careers to follow.

Remove the characters and mat and you have mere violence. Far less entertaining.

Anyways maids...
Wait. Before I start
While I'm at it. I ragged on threesomes previously but I realized I never gave credit where it's due.
Real quickly now
  • Regardless of minor gripes I had on the dynamic the scenes were pretty alright. I'm sure if I was a fan of the MC being a (power) bottom and general polyamory I'd have enjoyed em more.
  • They had that good ol' face sucking which I'm always fond of
  • There was a admittedly miniscule amount of after service. But damn it, it was there. A rarity in this game.
  • Characters paid lip service to each other which I'm always a fan of
  • With few exceptions they weren't really padded.

To the more important topic
Maids

I think Dark Knight as a personality type in general is a mistake. You're just an pseudo-asshole with no empathy. (Except you have plenty of it as the story forces you to be a good guy). Morality versus selfishness would be a way more interesting dynamic. As dark knight really should just exhibit the actions the player actually wants. You don't need to be some insane murder hobo to make corruption interesting.

Which is exactly what it was supposed to be in that design document:

Giving Gweyr a tongue lashing or making fun of how much of a coward she is would be a dick option sure. I'd not choose it. But it'd be interesting at least.
Options to corrupt sweet innocent Shar or tricking/influence Ihzalti into serving you alone would help. Employing the Alraune in more morally dubious means of funding the wayfort or allowing her to continue spreading but more subtly would help. You've got the Dryad grove and there's an opportunity there for corruption that will never happen.

Wining up Takahiro with a pink egg deluxe and TFing him? Why not.
Slowly raising Naiyana's dependency on the MC for her passions.
There's things there. They're just not done.

As you write a character that more selfishly does what they want there'd be more room for the "corruption of the soul". Actual implications for an epilogue at the eventual end of the quest for the pleasures you took at the expense of others. Corruption would show up as the frequent third option and adherence to it could have a few minor dialogue variations. You're still going to save the world. But you'll be doing it on your terms for your reasons

...
But instead we get nothing. Jael'yn is the only character you can truly corrupt and she's neat and I like her and all but the hooking up and third wheeling with Daliza misses the point.

1.In CoC, nothing gets out of mareth once it enters. This is a universal law upheld by unknown means and is never touched upon why it is so. One can make assumptions, but it matters little. In one of the several endings (read: one of the several contrived endings written to get it over with by Savin), it turns out that the head demonic researcher that has two whole single line mentions in the entire game from throwaway crap in the bazaar managed to discover a way to leave Mareth properly and kept it hidden from everyone else. We'll go with this as if it's not really dumb. In CoC2, the main demonic villain comes into whatever shithole the game plays out through a portal that opens every so often much like the one in ingnam or whatevs, except this one needs some form of ritual with cultists too, I guess?(Very cool) Either way, this happens almost right after or even during the CoC protagonist's fight with Lethice, right after this demon steals that research of portals or whatever. Now answer me: where in that time frame did she have time to learn the spell or method, communicate with the cultists, and wait for the portal to naturally open on time to not only apply this method and communicate with the cultists? Savin also seems to be under the assumption that all portals that aren't unstable that vanish completely to never return operate on a very specific schedule of exactly a year when no portals—stable or not—are ever consistent with each other like this. A direct quote from CoC2 to display the inconsistency the game is based on:
Evergreen nods, reclining back on her divan. "The Hawkstone portal opens only once a year, and when it does, only one transaction occurs. Most portals allow passage freely, if you can find them and force them open with the correct rituals, but this one... wherever it leads seems to operate differently than other worlds. One thing goes through, and one thing comes back. And only once each year."

2.The Hawkstone portal opens only once a year, and when it does, only one transaction occurs. This alone breaks open the entire plot of CoC. This one, singular sentence blows the premise of CoC right open. Savin is under the assumption that the elders were actually given tinctures and other potions in return for "champions" being sent through, when it reality the only possible solution is that they've just been strung along by false promises to be fulfilled once the demons get out. Nothing leaves Mareth. Nothing tangible and person-like, at least. The demons are clearly playing in on the elders' fear of growing too old, dying, and what have you not. If you make a deal with the devil you always draw the short end of the stick. And to bring all of this home: Zetaz, the imp who was supposed to pick up the champion, to pick up you at the start of the game, had nothing like vitality tinctures or anything to give the elders back on him. Just some disgusting lust draft that imps use to sedate and rape people. There was never going to be anything for the elders in return for you.

are you sure that was in he base cock game and not in the EE mod?
also, if it was it must have been a plothole. Because the writers didn't seem to care too much about their own setting and rules
