Yes it happens when Amy arrives - there is a dialogue that suggests he doesn't think he should in front of her.

Actually it is one of those annoying 'continuity' things. Not sure if it was on the list I listed in a response from the dev about 'oddities'.

It comes from that then. @TheGary pointed out that the events back on the boat were not 100% proof. There might be a coding problem with the days and hours when you go back on board. it will all be corrected with 0.6.

the traits and corruption & exhibition levels are small "milestones" to discover to go further with a particular NPC. if you didn't noticed it's that you played the game without too much problems getting the stars
