Milking is something MrDots is most definitely NOT doing. The dev is writing the story he wants to tell, in both DMD and Melody, just because the MC and the main girl doesn't engage in penetrative sex right off the bat does NOT make it milking, even if it takes a year or longer than that for them to finally engage in it, doesn't make it milking, because the story is NOT about them fucking, it's about their lives and their relationship and the development of it as well as the people around them. But if that's your definition of milking, then you've got it all wrong. Milking is when you're accepting/taking money from people on a monthly basis and give them nothing in return for months, not so much as development news, or just downright abandoning the project after a while, THAT'S milking. Just because a story goes on for a very long time, doesn't qualify as milking by any standards.

Come on now man, the dev is giving monthly updates as promised, sure it would be better if it was 1 month Melody, 1 month DMD and so forth, but right now schedule is this one, 2 months of Melody, 1 month of DMD, does it make him lazy? Nope, he's doing what he has promised. And Patreon is the most popular platform to get your adult games across, if you were to switch to something else, there's a risk that a big portion of the followers on Patreon wouldn't follow up on that and dev would lose a big chunk of income. He does have this "buy me coffee" payment method for DMD, but Patreon is still the priority and that's where Melody is.

People setting themselves for expectations of one game vs another when the style does have differences is fine, up to an extent. Once people start complaining that the style of a game doesn't match their expectations set by others, it's not always about one being executed better than another, but often because they seem to prefer one style vs another. I think you just offered support for that assertion.
