Milking is something MrDots is most definitely NOT doing. The dev is writing the story he wants to tell, in both DMD and Melody, just because the MC and the main girl doesn't engage in penetrative sex right off the bat does NOT make it milking, even if it takes a year or longer than that for them to finally engage in it, doesn't make it milking, because the story is NOT about them fucking, it's about their lives and their relationship and the development of it as well as the people around them. But if that's your definition of milking, then you've got it all wrong. Milking is when you're accepting/taking money from people on a monthly basis and give them nothing in return for months, not so much as development news, or just downright abandoning the project after a while, THAT'S milking. Just because a story goes on for a very long time, doesn't qualify as milking by any standards.

Yes, and the bathtub scene happens before the photoshoot. If you see D in the yellow dress, have been on the D path this installment and chose stump 1, it should offer you the "No, it's perfect" option at that time.

Just because you don't pay for updates, does not mean you can't criticize! Just be constructive about it and not like some ppl here that just go 'giev update now'.
The dev also has other means then Patreon set up for gaining monetary support for his endeavors so I think my point about not spreading himself to thin still stands, although I do underwrite the idea of having to offer value for supporters on the Patreon platform. With all the Patreon crackdowns the last months I'd recommend pulling financial support from Patreon anyway and use the other avenues that dev's can set up, but hey, people are slow and lazy (dev's included)

Slow and lazy? Come on now man, the dev is giving monthly updates as promised, sure it would be better if it was 1 month Melody, 1 month DMD and so forth, but right now schedule is this one, 2 months of Melody, 1 month of DMD, does it make him lazy? Nope, he's doing what he has promised. And Patreon is the most popular platform to get your adult games across, if you were to switch to something else, there's a risk that a big portion of the followers on Patreon wouldn't follow up on that and dev would lose a big chunk of income. He does have this "buy me coffee" payment method for DMD, but Patreon is still the priority and that's where Melody is.

Please remember most 3d VNs contain many similar elements. From DAZ models to all-powerful MCs to exclusive harems to slutty babes.
Many members have much experience with these types of games. DMD is different in some ways? Sure. Great in some ways? Sure. Perfect in each and every way? No chance..

People setting themselves for expectations of one game vs another when the style does have differences is fine, up to an extent. Once people start complaining that the style of a game doesn't match their expectations set by others, it's not always about one being executed better than another, but often because they seem to prefer one style vs another. I think you just offered support for that assertion.

This game certainly isn't perfect in its execution for what it seems to attempt being, but despite its crossover with Milfy City, Dreams of Desire, etc. it still has unique characteristics beyond the superficial level and even direct points of comparison which can be fairly critiqued. With that in mind, I feel people should play what they like and support Devs+ask for other things if they are so inclined, but otherwise don't have much to whine about if they want the game to be more of a clone of other games than it might seem to be.

anyway, I didn't like too much this update either. I mean, soooooo many dialogues that I didn't care about. So many internal monologues and mental trips. So many explanations of horses, cows and shit. I really didn't enjoy the writing this time. Art was not bad, but in the first third of the episode there were some weird camera angles that made faces look weird. I take that it must be the fact of not working on the same thing for months

As I can see we had including august eight updates (five Melody, three DMD), always punctual and with more playtime/content delivered then the average Renpy/RPGmaker games (if you substract the grinding in RPGMaker games with useless running around, even more!). So this statement is clearly false. Because you don't like the content of the updates doesn't make the dev's lazy. People complaining about no MC/D intercourse could use the time instead to search for other games, with content they like?!

This is a real surprise!
Immediately after the ban (announced January 26), Mrdots made a statement that 0.17 would still be released and even contain more content than is would have if it had been made on Patreon. General sentiment, at least in this thread, was that the first bj scene would now be added. It was. But I'm guessing that F/D planned elopement scene was ALSO added as a cliff hanger. This cliff hanger was later retracted and deleted from DMD. But then, there came the very legit Elena discovery of a naked F+D in 0.18. Which very much kept up fans' interest and convo.
Suddenly, a "180" to no cliff hanger? At the same time as several top-tier, and usually staunchly loyal, patrons are starting to voice their misgivings? This very much appears to be a huge crossroads for DMD. Not only for the F/D story line. But for the project itself.
These next 2 months will not be much fun in this thread. Oh well! One day at a time will get us there!

Cliffhangers are my particular windmill to tilt. Whether the others buy into this concept on any particular release is a different issue. All I can do is dream the impossible dream.
