I can't put my finger on it, but this is the post that inspired me to scale back from $20 to $1 on Patreon. Maybe I'll scale back up when there's new SL content around the end of March.

This isn't about making a completely new and different game. You can't just hand wave away criticism with "make your own game"

Freedom of expression!! wait so there is no money involved, its a darn charity right?? So, you are confident no one absolutely no one pledged to mr dots after being evident swinging and sharing are the future prospects of the game, which you would know if you actually played it rather than skipping past to good parts.

Let me be very clear, if there were no such prospects from the beginning to the last fking update...we all and believe me we all would be happy enjoying the shear brilliance of visuals and story plots by Mr Dots and his team, which I and many here adore.

How many times do we have to repeat that the problem is how he claimed there would be such content in the game, a lot of times, he even once announced the specific sharing routes for ch4 alongside the other routes,... just to say now "lol actually I wasn't serious I didn't really plan it". He knows he's not honest here and just don't want to admit he's backstabbing those he cashed on based on those promises.
That's the issue and why people are whining here. Not just because they found a game without the genre they like.

As for myself I expressed my disappointment once and I won't do it twice, but I still feel the need to reply to such comments who clearly miss the real issue.

Nah this is porn but it is still a creative piece of art, like TV or movies. If Game of Thrones suddenly has choices in season 8 that you hate and feel were all wrong based on your own perception of how things were supposed to go sure you can complain but it ain't like you got the PS4 switch you got the reality that you and your thoughts were not in line with the creators after all. Sure you can be upset. But after the 15th time complaining it is time to accept that reality is not going to change. They made what they wanted to make.........

You are just refusing to see the reality of this. Lets say that Mr.Dots instead of removing MMF, took away your Elena and/or Jennifer. Would you not be pissed and complain about it? Yes you would, and good lord how pissed you and many otherd would be. Dont know about others but I personally will not accept this when they in the last update (v.28) even teased about further mmf content to come in v.29 and Ch4, to just suddenly take a 180 and say "Naah just joking we never planned anything mmf related ever". So spare me with this "they made what they want to make" bullshit.

Dude... stop putting things into my fingers that they never wrote. I've written explicitly about NTR that is not going to happen and mentioned the disappointed MMF crowd in passing. (Btw, note that I've interpreted the latest dev note in a way that nboth Martin and Ryan will get their send off scenes on December 22, but that they both will mostly be out of the game afterwards. It was nowhere stated that there won't be any MMF scenes in C4, I fully expect the odd one here and there.)

"MMF fans will get some content in this month’s CH3 revision (v29), but no more MMF content has been planned for Chapter 4."

I'd expect that they would have to shoehorn in scenes for each of Ryan and Martin. I'm doing a second run through Chapter 3, and the principle of Chekhov's gun would strongly suggest that those scenes are forthcoming. If they don't, it's either a sign of bad faith or amateurish story construction.

Game is 4 years old, had all the publicity it needs. And the toxicity around it made the team tired of developing it. They want to finish it and leave it asap, and move on to newer things.

Everybody wins, right? One MMF scene canceled out in a way that doesn't betray story development while subtly referencing an interesting set of standards players may have in their fantasy AVNs.

Then all that's left is to bang out a scene with Ryan and move on to the Chapter 4 denouement ending with Lucas going full Mark David Chapman on F and D as they leave a restaurant. If the Dots team is really done telling this story, what better way to put it to a final rest?

This was a reaction to a few pages back where people who did not read the dev's NTR definition (read: the official, standardized one) and claimed that sharing is NTR and thus is in the game.

It's frustrating that some people are defining NTR as any situation where the number of penises is greater than one. It's my understanding (based on my meager reading comprehension skills) that NTR is about the absence of consent in the way that stealing and sharing are two very different things.

Didn't check this thread for a few days, and I learn only one MMF scene in next update and then only in final chapter as "bonus" scenes. Fuck, won't repeat everything everybody said, only that I very much agree that MMF scenes were teased for a long time, not only with Martin, and so it doesn't seem fair.

Never paid for it, but I strongly feel that MrDots had a goldmine of characters with DmD, art and writing was great for a long time, but now we will have another boring vanilla harem follow up and more scenes with MC and D. Seriously what more can they add to Dad & Dee scenes ? Dad grows 2 more dicks to fuck her in 3 holes at a time ? We've had enough of these.

They never really found the magic of DmD in their other games, Melody lost a bit of it, Sunshine even more, I really wish circumstances didn't rob them of their freedom to create and make DmD full time as they initially planned it

I just found it an interesting observation that an MMF with F,D,Martin could actually be addressed and rejected in the game while remaining consistent with the story development (we have no idea if Martin would be down for an MMF in any situation, let alone one with two blood relations).

I also completely agree that the main story arc of the game has always been about D's developing independence/agency. I've said before that I see her now as being as much of the protagonist as F is, and the story from this point forward should be highlighting that reality. The storyline of her continuing along her corruption path could be handled via a scene with Ryan while the Martin story still (based on events to date) could unfold in a few different ways. D could be the one to propose the MMF to F and Martin (a sign of her growing agency and corruption), and Martin could in theory reject the idea in a manner consistent with the story.

Exploring how D might process Martin's rejection of the MMF might be an interesting pathway. Would it lead to her thinking about how she's grown as an independent woman and what she wants for herself? Would she, after hearing her own mother's confession, reconsider whether being with F long term is the right thing for her and whether she's outgrown a physical relationship with F and that it's time to move on?

There's a lot of interesting psychological development to be had that has been hinted at throughout the story. I fear however that you are right and that any pathway that doesn't end with F and D married with child is going to be left to die on the side of the road. And yes, it's not exactly what has been suggested if not downright promised over the last couple years.

If the team is scaling back the attention given to MMF primarily because of complaints from the peanut gallery, I think that's a shame.

The anti-NTR crowd has once again ruined yet another game/visual novel that started out with multiple paths for corruption. I imagine they'd balk at the idea of something as simple as pouring chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream. If Mr. Dots is that tired of working on this game though, should just fucking end it outright instead of developing another chapter. The story between the MC and D is effectively over at this point. There's no need to drag it out further if the other paths are being cut out.
