Ofc that's logical and he should look for a solution to continue DMD. But at this point no one found out any decent solution. Even if he'll be left with only 1k patrons that's still much more than he can achieve outside of Patreon and he knows that. In mainstream industry indie games are barely noticable without Steam and there are other platforms they could use.

But how he can ignore them and still have that cash?
Any paypal business member can set recurring payments to happen monthly with a 2.75% cost rather than Patreons 5%+ costs with further costs to patrons. By stepping away from Patreon, he is actually saving his pledgers money every month!!! When you are the big dog why cave in to the little dog who threatens you? Just chew him up or spit him out! [your choice depending on your fetish, spit or swallow...]

Yeah, Paypal is a main asset of Patreon.

Only biggest brands can use paypal. Paypal forbids porn and he would lose his acount with all funds for TOS violation. That's why Patreon is special

You had to know that now is the time of the "social justice warriors" given the "me too" movement where you can hurl accusations at anyone from your past in true character assassination form without any burden of proof, paramount to the Salem Witch Trials... I just hope that Mr. D. will at least give us a "happy ending" before he embarks on his new watered down, remove my money from his pocket, Patreon endeavor... (SMH)

Still, don't understand why these guys, especially the "big dogs" just don't tell Patreon to fuck off and do it themselves? What you are a programmer and can't figure out how to build a website and take recurring paypal payments??? I may not be a dev but I am self-employed and if you are willing to pay me, I can take any form of payment that you can offer... Are you that hard up, or stupid, that you can't???
Yep, why aren't the biggest Devs coming and creating there own website? They have the support the money and the reach to do this why aren't they?

Yep... Patreon is slowly turning into a strictly SFW platform.

I just hope Drip gets open registrations soon...

I am afraid most money processing sites and payment gateways will have similar rules. Even those which are porn-friendly like CCBill.
The reason is, these are the rules the card companies enforce on them. One can probably operate more-or-less staying under radar, but the risk will always be there. The more levels are there, the bigger a chance.
For example, I believe both Visa and MasterCard don't allow any porn site, to directly accept their cards. But via certain payment operators they kind of let it slip (like CCBill or Verotel). But they still don't allow certain things, which even these companies check on the site they provide payments for. But I've seen sites, selling credits - totally valid, and those credit scan be then used somewhere else, to buy not-approved content. Naturally it's inconvenient and adds cost - both to sellers and for buyer (devs/patreons).
In future there's the chance what crypto-currencies offer, but right now their price is too volatile to work reasonably. But perhaps once this hypes dies out, we will see a new dawn (Personally I wish this boom crashes the sooner the better)

MrDots just needs to create patreon page which would be consisted of him opening up Kinder surprise eggs and reviewing toys and Elsa bullshit, like those youtube channels, while working ond DmD in the shadows

jokes aside i'm really not optimistic at all unless he already planned something before all of this but from what he said in that post and in what way he said it,i doubt that...LoP games are in the business for years with other method of payments, problem is if MrDots takes that approach he will most likely loose 90% of current pledges, just like LoP got drop in their subscriptions over the years...
this could easily be the end of DmD :(

Well you're right, but I think that crypto currencies are already good enought, maybe just not use bitcoin. If you by the right amount a crypto before paying you don't pay much more.

He can also go on makersupport.
They guidline says
NSFW Content
Content considered "not safe for work" (NSFW) is permitted in posts on MakerSupport, but must be marked as such to prevent it from being shown to users under the age of 18.

Adult content may not be included in cover artwork or profile pictures, as those images are publicly visible without a content warning for underage users.

Adult content may not be monetized if it is pornographic in nature. However, adult content which is artistic in nature may be monetized. This will be judged on a case-by-case basis and creators will always be consulted before any changes are made to their monetization status.

We understand that this is very vague, so here are some general rules. Cartoons and depictions are nearly always acceptable. Real-life photos and videos of sexual acts are very often considered pornography.
And I think it worth to try...

Reason why LOP were able to gather funds was that they are small as hell so they're released consistently. They are more or less on par with 1-2 months of releases. Bigger games can't do that. And even bigger games can't use monthly Patreon releases. Games are always dependant on a release model.
As for CCBill it's not really alternative for now. Paypal has no alterative as it's a common, safe site with milions of users. People hate to create another accounts not to say to give their cards data when they have one already. Paypal is without alternatives just like Google is. You can use other sites but who would do so? To attract funds you have to find a way into a mainstream audience and mainstream audience won't use different payment methods just for porn

I think they should take Darkcookie as an example with Summertime Saga.
The game develops it and places it on its own site. donations receive them on Patreon where he has only the front page.
Or, the various creators, should create a personal site, or a common site, such as a site LoP .... 1 site with many creators (games)

My guess is that as long as MrDots is under direct scrutiny, we will not get any new relevant information where the patreon inquisition can see it.
Basically posting on the patreon site a way to reverse the enforced changes has not been the best move.

This said, I sincerely hope for some new information in, say, a month or two, when the situation, hopefully, would have calmed down somewhat.

The game is great, and I still hope that it will not die over this.
This said, it does not look too good, all things considered.
