Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooand with that [Onhold] flag DMD is starting to smell like Limburger.
Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooand with that [Onhold] flag DMD is starting to smell like Limburger.
My reason for stressing story is strictly personal. I just want a good story to go along with my porn. Some dialogue that isn't contrived and unbelievable. That was reason one we wanted to do our own project, to see if we could improve upon that.I agree with everything except the importance you assign to the "story".
I'm a professional programmer that writes software and analytics packages in Java, R, Python, C++ and VB. Driving through the night to hit deadlines is nothing new. And if I had 2,000 followers on Patreon and was banking $10k a month writing fiction porn, I would gladly work a couple of 60 hour weeks to hit the deadline no problem! What you describe is harmonious development and is a great achievement.
But imagine when something goes wrong. Then being "on the clock" with a monthly update can lead to a lot more drinking and a lot less sleeping.
This is where we encounter a lot of our drag. We decided if we were going to do this we were going to use Iray's photoreal engine, which we do. But on our current hardware setup, the renders take a long time to accomplish. IF we could speed that up, we'd be cranking out chapters left and right.Renders seem to be the "easiest" to replicate ((I'm sure getting it right the first time is no picnic) once there is enough time.
I think it's only a trouble spot if you're new to programming. Since Ren'py is all python based, anything you can do in Python you can do in Ren'py. This opens up the whole world of object oriented programming. So managing story paths doesn't have to be a challenge if you know how to keep your scripts organized.Coding is the most difficult : Ren'py is chosen over Unity to somewhat simplify the process (it is my understanding that this is the main trouble-spot for VNs when branching proliferates).
I've written a lot of this off to bad translations, but that may just be ignorant on my part. But it is my hope that anyone playing our game who notices any typos points that shit out to us so we can fix it.In most VNs there are typos galore. Where is the proofreading?
I agree with this 200%!The one ingredient they virtually all lack : cohesive, plausible plots. Many individual characters are vivid enough that the renders (and a player's imagination) can atone for literary shortcomings. The best example of this is the adorable D of DMD.
A valid point. I just worry about how slow the development of a story that size will be. Knowing nothing about DS's setup, team or capabilities. I mean, I liked the structure of BB, the renders were great, the story was absurd, but it was fun all the same.30 characters with Female Protagonist, half of them probably male, so exciting! (not)
Welcome to the good ol' U.S. of A. Where it's perfectly acceptable to sacrifice 2,800 soldiers in a 17 year old war that we can't win, but a digital dick slipping into a digital snizz is criminal!I dont get it what is the problem with this game story? We can kill in games in the most horrible way but we cant have game like this?
That is correct, Mustache of the Bandit!Wait, haven't been following since they were taken off Patreon. So DmD is in limbo for the forseeable future too?
I especially like the guys who are like "What is MrDots email? I must speak with him immediately!" because I imagine them like hunting down his email and their big thing is "Change it to stepdaughter!!!" x'DOh, and then about every tenth post is someone once again introducing the idea of:
a. Hatreon
b. Paypal
c. Devs starting their own Patreon
d. continuing the game on Patreon and trying to hide it.
Even though all of these subjects have been thoroughly talked out...they are still being brought up like they're "new ideas".
No - the full intention of the process is to continue with DMD.Hope its just me but seems that the 1st two links on 1st page don't work anymore they (least for me) go to a Auto blank page, the only one working is the patron page.
So i am guessing that DmD is dead for good ?
Something tells meMaybe they all should get Elon Musk on board, this guy seems to be pretty capable of getting shit done.
James Fickel, 26, lives in a high-rise with a Russian blue cat called Mr. Bigglesworth. Mr. Fickel is known in the community for “going full YOLO” and investing $400,000 when Ethereum was at 80 cents. Now, with a fortune he says is in the hundreds of millions, his parents have retired and sent his younger sister to live with him.
“I’m taking over her education,” Mr. Fickel said, sitting on a white leather sofa, Mr. Bigglesworth asleep in his impossibly skinny arms.
That’s the ending of chapter 1i didn't like the ending of the game
the girls leave to go to there mom home and the dad wasn't able to stop it
Did you download the Ren'py SDK?HI could anyone help me with this, I have tried it but it does not seem to work for me
There's no confirmation on that. I threw out this idea because I like to correctly predict something well in advance of the thing happening; plus the 2 things (name & job) fit nicely together. Is it confirmed that Mel is a starlet in this new project?
Must be some weird negotiations going on between MrDots and his Patreon editors.
LOL!I especially like the guys who are like "What is MrDots email? I must speak with him immediately!" because I imagine them like hunting down his email and their big thing is "Change it to stepdaughter!!!" x'D
It's business hypocrisy, say lies to keep investors and the public happy. We're just getting screwed in the process. Patreon out grew its need for DMD to help it thrive. But If I were Patreon biggies I would put together another unconnected site to keep milking the porn money AND have my Disney princess safe site.Welcome to the good ol' U.S. of A. Where it's perfectly acceptable to sacrifice 2,800 soldiers in a 17 year old war that we can't win, but a digital dick slipping into a digital snizz is criminal!
To be fair. I love my country, but hate some of its people.
