I think this is probably some sort of reference to places where people do, or used to, eat a lot of spam. Hawaii, Guam, basically any place too small to raise their own livestock. Author has always deliberately avoided saying where D lives with mom, so maybe it's a joke-hint.

It was a nod to something I posted on Patreon regarding spam a long time ago. Staff writer Hearsz remembered it and put it in as he also named the attorney after me due to my being an attorney. (Another inside joke is back in Chapter 1 where Elena is sick and talks to MCFemale about playing a video game where all the characters had pubic hair. This came in response to huge discussions by Patrons and Staff as to the lack of pubic hair in the renders and Staff deciding it was just that way in this VN universe. - I suppose the inner jokes are going to confound thousands of future players.

For me no save files worked. I had to start v0.16 as a new game and manually input the stats.
I don't know why it crashes for you. The only solution I can think of is uploading the files that are working for me, no crashes, so you can download them, and replace the files in your DMD.CH2-0.16-win/game folder. My files are in the link below. See if they work for you. (Please make a back up of your original files just in case)
They have no use up to this version (v0.16) but they will probably be used in future versions. If you have enough BDSM points you will see some scenes while others without enough BDSM points won't.
i think i know why it does, cuz i paid attention and it was stuff about elana mostly, the carnival bear thing crashed it too, it's cuz for me it wouldn't pick up the last from chapter 1 so i had to edit it to make it work in 15.. i'm guessing i missed some things obviously.. at least i was able to get rid of elana haha who knew that kissing her would open a route i didn't want and no way did i want to go back and do all that again just to remove her... i wanted the full daughter only route.
