Half a year ago I wrote a piece explaining that Daughter was an “It Girl”. See:

However, she only achieved that status when she reconnected with her father. The father also got “It” status when they reunited. Thus my dialogue at the restaurant when Georgina opines that Father seems to have changed since Daughter arrived - become more sexy and whatnot.This explains why Father has no girlfriend prior to Daughter arriving and even says at one point that his bed has not had a woman in it before these events. I think he says that in the Jennifer scene. —. Though maybe he bought that bed the day before Daughter showed up.....

So what i could read for DMD is that it's not going to be on Patreon anymore and MrDots is starting a new game.
However he was close to finishing current Chapter 2?

I think the last info we got was that the next update would come out sometime in february (mid if I remember correctly since it was mostly finished) and that he plans to continue and finish DmD as something of a side project but I don't think there is any clear timetable for that yet. I personally wouldn't really get my hopes up since I think the odds are against DmD ever getting finished as planned but it may yet continue for a bit.
And I don't think we were actually that far into chapter 2 yet, at least if he planned to have it to be of a similar size than the first one though it is of course possible that the later volumes were intended to be smaller.

Initially DMD supposed to be developed for 2 more years. Now there are 2 projects so in best case we can have update per 2 months. That would mean whole game will be finished in 4 years. And that's the most optimistic version. During 4 years new platform should emerge so that's some hope. If not during 4 years there should be plenty of high quality games so DMD might lose its purpose

In 4 years DMD's graphics will look really old, like Brad's Erotic Week looks right now. My best hope? That we get a remake in a few years when more Patreon alternatives are established, with better graphics and an enhanced story.

if you’ve read any of the past 10-20 pages or even checked the links to his site on the first page, DMD will be updated still but at a slower pace because they now have two projects to focus on instead of one.

Trope appears to be a storytelling shorthand for a concept that the audience will recognize and understand immediately. Since nobody seems to understand this issue unless imexplain it, it can’t be a trope. Not sure if people understand it even when I explain it.
Not sure there is an example of “loser becomes winner as soon as he becomes MC. If there are examples of this in other games, movies, or books, I’d be interested.
In actuality, the “It” concept is a mystical explanation for why a character’s situation changes as rapidly as it does. Though, people’s internal mood and emotional strength can change drastically depending on the catalyst event — is D’s arrival a catalyst event — add a dash of wonder and it is.
I also factor in the idea that good storytelling begins in media res.
You don't start a story three months before the action. Your story
starts when things are changing and stuff starts happening. The MCs life before D is only relevant if it explains something in the here and now. Whether he was a winner or loser doesn't matter unless it has immediate impact.

I am going to respectfully disagree that this is how it MUST be. The story our team is currently working features neither a stud nor a giant cock, but the MC is being pursued by seven potential lovers.
In our story the female sexual drive isn't driven by lust, but rather emotion. Each of the seven characters all have a different emotional reason for pursuing the MC and each engages with him based on those emotional interests.
So at the end of the day, the player can engage with one, none or all of the seven characters without resorting to the generic "oh my god his cock is huge and I must have it" mentality that is rampant in games. There doesn't have to be a macguffin to make the magic happen.
I guess my point is that one should be able to build a harem without being studly or have a massive cock. Emotion will suffice.

Father has no immediate backstory. No girl
in real life, there are only a handful of people that could (in a Western culture, pull off a “catch them all harem outcome” - mostly people with power, money or fame to a significant degree. It’s this expectation that puts all other MCs with alternate backgrounds into unrealistic situations.
