Maybe you need to update or install k-lite read somewhere that could be a solution. What also could be a thing download the player Python or just update the dxwebsetup. Dont know if it works but you always could give it a try

Are patrons leaving? There are 2 good alternative explanations if patrons are declining : the first week of a month, it's par for patrons to temporarily decline ~10%;
since the DMD fans seem like a rugged group, it's more likely that Melody fans who don't appreciate DMD (I know, right??) may have been pissed that they paid a pledge in May without receiving a Melody update (by way of contrast, when DMD didn't receive a January update due to the ban, the month of February was pledge-free) and have angrily unpledged.

Yeah i did mention it in the past that it was weird of him to take the money for that month from patreon even though the game would be released on a different website you also need to pay to access, still he gained a lot of patrons last month and lost just a few on June so he should be happy his supporters seem love both of his games

Not sure where to post this, having a problem downloading walkthroughs. Any mega walkthroughs. I can download games from mega because they have a pop up that says save. The walkthroughs just stop at open file but when I push it nothing happens. This just started happening a couple days ago. I' using my android to load files then drag to computer.
Any ideas or help where to post this question? Thx

I Do the same thing that way i use the client wothout adding more crap to my pc. Click one on right. When it finishes download(practically immediately) it will automatically try opening the zip file. Just hit back on phone. Then go check either download or mega folder. Or wherever u pointed mega to download to, or whatever u told internet to download to. File will be there.

Also, are u using open in browser or open in mega? If its open in mega, you hit import twice and i believe i had to make a mega folder and point mega downloads to that folder to find my stuff. Hope the couple responses helped ya!

So, this idea that Melody supporters are being forced to support DMD, despite having the option to unpledge during the DMD update month, may cause a leakage of patrons.
This idea of a monthly Melody gallery seems to be an effort to placate these Melody-first supporters.

DMD has a more loyal fans base, and a better story. It seems DMD was the game Mr.Dots wanted to create (thus his emotional allegiance to our darling D) and Melody was the game he had to create (cash is king).
The question is will pressure from the more lucrative Melody fan base who is demanding more regular updates or else they bail (fair weather prevs) force Mr.Dots to can DMD in favor of the game that pays the bills? This is one of the fears common to most DMD fans. Every DMD update kinda seems like visiting the terminally ill, in that you wonder if this will be the last time you interact.

Imagine if we fast forward one year (we'll beam back right quick). By that time, plans should have been set in motion by the studio to transition patrons to a 3rd project ( it sucks but a Patreon replacement seems like a never-never land dream). Would the studio rather use Melody or DMD to "herd" patrons to this 3rd project? DMD has done it before. DMD can be continued through a couple of updates of the post-Melody Patreon project.
Whoever opts for Melody : I hope you have enough sense to ninja edit that opinion in future.
The only component missing in DMD that was ever-present in 0.01-0.16 is the "slow-burn". Good riddance! It'll just be sex interspersed between the cliff hangers and the spider webs.

I have a feeling as Melody progresses, there will be a lot more fans of this game. Especially if you're a huge DMD fan. I don't want to give too much away if you or anyone else hasn't played it yet, but let's just say there are a few callbacks to DMD splashed throughout the game.

The drop in numbers isn't fully representative of those leaving his Patreon.
At the turn of the month, a devs numbers will temporarily drop for a few days then spike back up
within a few days after that. It happens every month. Notice how on that graph you shared that the line drops at the start of each month?

I also believe it has something to do with the Patreon payment processor and pays not going through to the dev immediately.

Last month, I think his Pateon total dropped 200 members at the start of May, then he recovered that within a week or two, and then gained nearly another 500 before the end of May. Which is quite incredible considering there was no actual release of that game last month.

Are people pledging on his Patreon just for Melody, or to help fund DMD, even though we were explicitly told to do so through Buy Me a Coffee only?

I've seen demo versions of Melody on a couple of Adult gaming sites, something that didn't happen for DMD.
So that could be another factor, or it could be a combination of things.

Every person is free to choose, and only a small minority of fans become patrons. So it's next to impossible to know.
But from the previews I've seen of the Melody game, Melody is the 3rd most physically attractive (possibly 4th, and new characters may pop up).
These attractive babes overshadow waiting for the main female MC--unless someone goes berserker Harem route and HAS to bang even holes in a fence.
In DMD, D is easily (I'm sure she'd win a popularity contest) the most attractive. Plus, she IS the incest fetish.
This comes with a swell ready-made villianess, Rachel.
If Melody were not made by the same studio, would I even bother with it? Not a chance. As is, the curiosity factor is too strong, and I certainly will.

Well, DMD started off vaginal only as well, but made relatively (pun intended lol) slow progressions towards anal (Georgina, Jennifer and now D; in that order). Us proverts (professional perverts) liked that little addition to the game. Hopefully we see the same in MrDots' newest installment. I mean, if you're gonna go incest, BDSM, sharing, MMF/MFF routes, might as well add one more fetish - anal.

Sure, Melody and DMD are like comparing apples to oranges, but I could see this quickly becoming another favorite of mine. DMD is still of course number 1 on my list and always will be so long as the updates continue. I just happened to notice the callbacks to DMD that I was really pleased with this game. Brought a little smile to my face seeing them.

The other reason I mention anal (besides the usual "pervert" one) is I consider it a non-extreme fetish, as would 90%+ of married guys, especially as compared to incest.

Since Melody will be without incest, I'm very curious how far Patreon will allow MrDots to go. That not only depends on Patreon but if Melody gains a separate and distinctive fan base from DMD. The fan base started out as a DMD majority and a few Melody only fans. Given the 2 projects don't interact or share a platform two separate game species are bound to evolve. But does this newly mutated Melody fan base share DMD fans taste in fetishes, are they a less pervy group? Have they evolved to actually survive only on Patreon permitted adult situations?
