not sure if this was a issue with the up load but I cannot seem to play chapter 4 online. the online option just goes rightto downloading the game.

Felt like the ending of DMD Chapter 1 :confounded: I hope it was only a misdirect because of the cliffhanger ending.
can anyone help? everything seems to be skipping cant really view the scenes for ch 9. text speed is on normal and i havent touched skip either.
Use spacebar to continue. Left click is skip in cracked version. This information is on the first post.
When I start the game vs 0.9, for some reason the load button is disabled for me. My chapter 8 exported file is in the same directory. Any suggestion?

I see where you coming from but yeah he did a rewrite of the whole first chapter, when you look at ch 9 , you can look at the side button change your relationship manually. It defaults to "Stepfather". I am not defending the guy as in the story makes sense if taken in that context. I hate it too, the whole rewrite was the mother was like a drifter that the MC hung out with. She was pretty much a prostitute (escort). THe story changed alot.
My guess is you played chapter 4 and left the command prompt window with the miniserver open. Each cracked version comes with it's own miniserver pointing to the index.html file in the game directory.
Sadly, you don't have to touch skip at all since any left mouse click throws the game into hyper skip mode. You can only left click on choices. After that, you need to use the spacebar to advance the dialog.
For me, I run the start.bat file, the game launches in Firefox, (my default browser) and I
1) get a page with the important information about playing online vs. downloading with a continue to click, then
2) a page with D and K at the beach with a start button. When I click the start button,
3) a Love-Joint.com video plays and I end up on
4) another page with important information about saving your game and how it picks up again, with a continue to click.
5)Then I get to a page of D and K in a booth at the bar with some text about how It detected I have not previously played Chapter 8 and a small box that says Browse under the text Load a Backup File. I click there and load my DFD_Chapter_8_Backup.dat file and the game restarts.
Steps 1-4 repeat exactly the same way. Step 5 is different. Still D and K in a booth but now the MC's name is displayed, and the gear and the wrench, and a new game and load game button. Since I haven't played chapter 9 yet, the load game is disabled and I can only select new game. But if I had an exported ch 9 backup I could go to the gear and restore my backup by oddly enough, hitting backup data. If I were to do that, the game would restart again and go through steps 1-4 exactly the same way and now I would have the ability to load a save file. There are 72 save slots available to you each chapter, all which can be renamed.
But I haven't played chapter 9 yet so I need to hit new game. Before I do, I can hit the wrench to check the relationship status of the young woman who lives with the MC and make sure it matches what I did in chapter 8. Then I play and save and load like normal until I get to the end and I select main menu and the game offers me a chance to export my game state before it gets lost in a cookie cleanup in my browser.
The somewhat confusing bits are each chapter starts with a new game selection, even though you just loaded the final state of the last chapter. And the second confusing bit is within each chapter you can save and load like any game but that is only part of what is saved in the .dat files, they also contain wrench and gear settings and dialog about the name of the diner and some of the events you had along the way.
So guys, uh i'm a bit confused. If i want to play the game from start, do i download the official releases til chapter 3 and do the cracked ones afterwards, or do i stick with official releases until the last chapter?

i was able to play from 1-7 no problem from the downloads, but 8 and 9, send me to the browser, is there a work around? sorta stuck at the moment, any advice would be great! the story actually is interesting enough to me to wanna try to finish whats open.
And how many time's are you able to bang kathy? i know in chapter 5, and hear about 9. (alas i can't get to either cause browser instead of the 1-7 download's from MEGA) any help would be really sweet, thank you!

The issue with that is I just re downloaded Chapter 1 from here and played it again, and it Still lists you as her father so anyone that plays it from the links HERE will see she is your real daughter ect... and in that is where a lot of confusion is going to come from. Because this last chapter will not make much sense. Unless I missed a switch or something in the config (that I never clicked anyways) But I have beat this to death, I really don't like how this chapter ended nor do I like the addition of a "new" character that has zero back story until the last few pages of this chapter. I will end my rant.
P.S. Yes I just loaded the game from his site and it is vastly different from the chapter 1 here.From what I'm reading so far about Chapter 9, it seems to make sense. It'd be difficult to keep it interesting by just powering forward with more MC/D content continuously, so some plot complications are so necessary as to be inevitable for this chapter. This route opens up chances for story bits that involve sneaking around and hooking up and such, I guess? I just hope it doesn't get dragged out to the point of burning away all the remaining interest. But at the same time i wouldn't expect everything to be resolved by chapter 11 either, not completely at least. Just keep giving me maybe one MC/D scene (hopefully more than just hand and mouth stuff for the most part) per episode somehow. And that eventual threesome with Kathy I keep asking for.

Yup. You heard right. To play the cracked versions, play the online versions and save the backup files. It's in save/load screen and at the end of every story, it prompts you. Play a chapter then back it up. On the the next...
The cracked versions are online versions downloaded and made to run using the start.bat cmd as the server. So the cracked versions will load the backups from the online games.
