Is anyone still hoping for a happy ending with this thankless, hating bitch? I've met drug-addict, desperate people with more faith than this alleged human slime.
I'd like to hope... like REALLY hope... that we hear something like this is the final chapter:

Amanda produces a recording. In the recording, the aunt tells her : "You dump MC... or one of my assassins kill him. You go to the cops... and the MC gets kidnapped and tortured slowly before dying. Remember... I'm rich. It'll take YEARS before this is out of court if you go to the cops anyways" i.e. Amanda was blackmailed.

So our detective friend makes the aunt and rich folks... disappear.

Even I'm right (which I don't think I am)... the devs should put hints to that if they're trying to redeem Amanda and not make it look like a last minute "we need you to like her" 180.

OT = Of course... of FUCKING COURSE... the MC uses the gun as a crowbar... so that the gun is broken... so I can't shoot the fucking aunt... in the face... until the gun goes click click click... out of ammo. Feels like a Zork game or 1950s storytelling: "Gotta keep the violence G rated folks..."... in a PORN GAME!... somehow...

EDIT = Note that in ch.16, the aunt is actually telling us that she hopes that we're shot and killed. So yeah... in an R rated game... I think I would have really liked that option... even if it led to a game over. (I can always reload).

Personally i don't think Amanda is a bad person for being swayed by her aunt. Moe was swayed too, and he's older and a cop and should be more suspicious in general. It's likely that there was plenty of convincing circumstantial information presented.

So yeah, my issue is not that she is a bad person. It's that she is a boring character. Her most defining character trait (other than being hot for daddy dick) is how dreadful she is at the games you play during your road trip. If the game wants me to care about getting Amanda back, it needs to make her interesting as a person, and it doesn't.

Thing is, the time that she had spent interacting with her aunt before deciding to be a b* is literally less than a couple of hours at best, and went against someone who raised her and who she supposedly in love with, with no questions asked.

Moe was just a regular customer of the MC, like a person who goes to a bar or coffee shop regularly and gets to good term with an employee, I doubt they are even friends outside of work since the game has given us no implications as such. So since her aunt can present to him with such proofs, obviously he being somewhat doubtful towards the MC is understandable. Not for Amanda though. I can see what you're getting at as well at she being a boring, mainstream chick whose only defining trait is her hots for her dad.

This would create a MASSIVE plot hole. Her attitude never showed any fearful behavior or anything that you'd expect from someone who is acting in a negative way to protect others silently. She seriously and willingly went to her aunt side, and even willingly blamed the MC for her mother's death (which is technically true but she doesn't know the full story), she also tried to make her dad to feel guilty for it and accused him of lying to her when he said he didn't know what she was talking about.

These are not traits of a person who was blackmailed or kidnapped but rather someone who genuinely believed in it.

The whole problem with both Moe and Amanda believing what the aunt said, has to do with the fact she said she was going to do what ever she had to to destory the MC in front of both of them.

. . . That fact is obvious. We were discussing the weak character development/plot holes on these characters, more specifically Amanda.

I completely agree. I'm English second language, so I wrote it badly, but about half way through, I mentioned "should put hints to that if they're trying to redeem Amanda"... I meant... they SHOULD HAVE PUT HINTS that this was the plan to redeem Amanda.

You are 100% correct. Doing the coercion route... would be a retcon. Now... comes the personal choice. Would we prefer the retcon... even though it's obviously Bobby Ewing in the shower? Or we go "Fuck it. I'm choosing another of the women."? Well... I know which one I'm picking instead.

Anyhow, I personally think it's one of those times when the writers are stunned when they write a character... thinking they're making it complex... but instead... I just hate her / him / it.

Does it has an in depth walkthrough?
I think the choices presented to you in the game give you pretty obvious hints of what is gonna happen. There's not that many choices that influence the main story anyway, it's pretty linear, all you have to do is choose which girl you wanna be with I think. Although I think Amanda is kinda forced on you since she plays a major part in the main story and all.

Finally getting back to playing this. Good game; but geeze, it runs like molassas. Would have been better in Ren'py.

Neither of them should have been swayed. The daughter who loves you more than just as a father should have trusted you enough to ask a simple question, and Moe, the detective, should have been able to deduce that something strange was going on. He's smart enough to figure it out before you tell him (in one chapter he says he knows the MC's secret, and the MC panics, thinking he knows about his incestuous relationship), but not smart enough to look deeper into the issue or interrogate the suspect (the MC) until after the MC breaks into his office.

Like, I don't mind if something is done for dramatic effect, but derailing characters to achieve that dramatic effect is what makes the whole thing dumb.

Possibly not. But bad writing doesn't make Amanda a bad person either (and is what made her a boring one) :)

Even without this whole badly-executed detour into drama, she would still be bottom of my list of the 4 available romance options.

Maybe, but I'd argue a character that doesn't at least give the one character who has always stood by her at least the benefit of the doubt and a chance to explain themselves also isn't depicted as a 'good person'.

I've tried searching the forum, but haven't found anything. what's the deal with chapter 13 starting with the end of a threesome between Kathy, Heidi, and MC? i'm not complaining except for that I never got to actually make choices, or (more importantly) see it.

If you ask for cheat code for Ch 13 i write here :
Chapter 13 - Ch13nothreesome : The threesome scene in ch 12 never happened.

For other cheat codes always for Ch13 if you must be a Platinum tier ($20) patron to use these codes.
ch13skipminigame: Allows you to skip the mini game.
ch13getkathytease: Get Kathy's teasing scene no matter what.
ch13sexnow: Get the Lily sex scene when you start the game
