tech dudes I am fuckedly fucked. I seem to have lost all my progress in this game. Somehow all my data was wiped, and now this game is telling me I have not played the last update. So I would have to start from chapter 1 again as all the saves are gonesville. I'd rather not as it is a tad annoying. Anyone know how I go about fixing this? Can the backup save files in the OP be used? If yes, how exactly (pretty stupid computer person here) would I achieve this to play chapter 16 and 17?

No, it sucks for the customer because the custom engine is worse than Renpy; every game gets cracked in the end. They won't get my money because of it.

They knew they wouldn't win everyone over but they have no plans of switching to Ren'py.
You are left with 2 choices, play or don't. It's entirely up to you but they aren't porting anything over to a different engine.
I know my tits aren't big but you don't have to call me a bloke.

This is going to be a rambling rant on this trainwreck of a VN. Here's my two cents that no one asked for:
The first time I played this game was around ep. 3 and it was promising. Slow going but I liked how the story didn't just jump into "Hi I'm MC, this is my daughter/mother/totally-just-a-housemate-honestly, we run a diner and now I'm going to peep on her in the shower, after which we're going to have sex and not feel weird about it." like so many other VN's with similar themes. There was also no supernatural element or some spy thriller shit - Mortelli isn't sone nanomachine infused international super spy, Kathy isn't an alien posing as a human - none of that. Spoiler, I guess.
The characters feel grounded and at least somewhat realistic and fleshed out. Mortelli is a bit of a cliché but he's a minor character so it's fine. There are no anime-esque archetypes which is great because I absolutely loathe that sort of lazy writing.
The engine is clunky and the minigames a bit annoying but that can be forgiven, considering how good the models look. A bit exaggerated (as in everyone has a prefect hourglass figure and at least a C-cup) but it is a porn game after all.
Almost forgot! The slow transitions are an absolute pain in the ass.
The writing's good, the scenes are good - things are looking good. Good. Thumbs up. I'm hooked. Seriously considering supporting on patreon once I quit being poor.
Then the infamous ep. 12 comes. And everything after that.
Like I said, I stopped playing around ep 14 or 15. I think I'm downloading these out of muscle memory and probably finish the story once ep 19 is out. But holy fucking shit does everything after ep 12 feel like a massive middle finger from the devs. I can almost hear them say: "Your support, interest and patience is noted and duly ignored. Go fuck yourself."
And the smug "Just play the two remaining episodes" mantra that Palmer keeps repeating doesn't exactly help. Like what the fuck's gonna happen? The MC wakes up in the beginning of ep 18, realizes that it was all a dream and we're back where ep 1 started and get to actually influence the story and avoid romance with Amanda?
I don't think I've ever been this happy to not have supported something monetarily.
Like I said I'm gonna finish the story but only because I hate starting things and not finishing them. I'm not coming back to this because of the engaging story but because otherwise there will be an annoying little voice in the back of my mind going "you gave up".

I'd just like to point out that 6k patrons is a hell of a lot more than most Ren'py devs get so they must be doing something right.
At the end of the day the game is playable, looks good and (apart from a few plot points that grated on me) it's pretty good. They are making bank with it and have no need to switch engines.
I don't like dismissing your arguments casually but they really have no plans on switching to Ren'py. It really is a "like it or lump it" situation.
Not the first person to do it but it's understandable, there aren't many of us on here. I know of a few that post and some that keep quiet about it but the funny thing i've found is a website full of perverts is more fun and respectable to talk to than most other websites.ouch i did fucked it up right there didnt i?

Kind of a silly question to make in the game's thread, but I'm gonna do it. I stopped playing the game during the threesome with Heidi and Kathy. Looking back to some pages, I've seen a lot of complains about the story direction and characters, mainly Amanda, behaving completely out of character.
Should I bother with the game? Or just ignore it? I used to love it, dunno why I stopped playing it.

Personally I had issues with Amanda's plot after the aunt turned up BUT not enough to put me off the game. My partner is the bigger fan of it, she's the patron of it, and she loves it. She didn't have the same problems I had with parts.
Aside from how Amanda acted everything else is great. It seems to diverge now we've got tot he later chapters. You have to pick who you want to go with now, they are done sharing and it's time to decide.
I think it's worth it playing.
Chances are you may not even dislike the parts some of us did. Some people enjoyed it, only a few of us had issues.

yeah i heard that as well, and interesting enough one of the characters you mentioned was my only interest in the game so imagine my disappointment, that said the are couple of endings so you should be good in the long run.
I for example will wait for final release and buy it wherever palmer will release it.

To be honest, the only character I was emotionally invested in was Amanda. Kathy and Heidi were fun, but just that, fun.
So hearing people saying how Amanda's character got destroyed, it made it really hard to justify me playing it again.
i know exactly what you mean, but still we will never know if we dont try right? at least our anger will be justified

I'm not that big on GGGB. It's not a terrible game by any means but it takes far too long to get any lesbian stuff and even longer to get the lesbian stuff with the hot blonde.
More a personal thing though, I think Eva has done an amazing thing with the game and how deep it is.
My favourite stuff is by another female dev, Sierra Lee. She makes Last Sovereign and has games like Ourobouros and Desecration of Wings on here and Steam. She also worked with Hreinn on Kingdom of Deception. Desecration of Wings is one of my fave female protags. She's a prostitute but badass, Last Sovereign comes a close second, male protag but that game has some amazingly well done characters (no artwork yet, all text sex scenes but the writing is fantastic and she's working on adding art now).
Aside from that I just really enjoy RPG's male or female protag. Most of them are male so I can't be too fussy though.
I'm big on my gaming, have been for years, and there are some places give me shit for being female. Only a few people though, I want that noting. A lot of others do it for fun and a laugh like make me a sammich and shit like that, banter I love. Only a few are genuinely shits with it but not enough to cause offence. Generally the type that send rape threats are kids that haven't figured out what their cock is for yet.
Never had that problem here and I thought it would have been worse. I've had many a disagreement but only over games, never anything else. Again, I do have banter with some guys but they never go too far. I think generally people are quite mature on here despite being dirty ole bastards.
Heavy Five is a pretty good game, Notty is a female dev.
While I do prefer a female protag I do enjoy male protag games (obviously, or i wouldn't be on this page). I just want to clarify that because it has led to misunderstandings where someone thought I only liked female protag games. Not the case, I like any game with great characters and/or writing. I'll even settle for terrible writing if I can watch an attractive character get fucked.
It was always Kathy for me, she's an awesome character. I have my e-harem of girls from some of the games I play and she was the first member, then Cory from MSMR. Few more added since then but point is, Kathy is a goddess, repent your sins against her you heathen.
