Looks like both. Compare the height of the characters to the ceiling. In an upstairs room, they are too short.
On the tree look at the size of the leaves. They are too large. I would try duplicating the leaves of the tree (without resizing, unless resizing down?) multiple times and transform the copies into various positions. Then take the original tree and remove it's leaves. Then scale the trunk of the tree as needed.
