Yeah, pretty bummed out myself. I just hope that Deathblight Guilty Raid gets released this year, don't care that much about the RPG anymore. But i really enoyed the Last Demonhunter, so i hope the game gets finished.

Says its not a zipfile
Should be fixed now. Everything unlocked apart from both game over job scenes, since there is currently no way for them be unlocked at the pc. Just gotta go to each job and rech Corruption 100, both currently at 80.

Just how many people are on Wolfenstahl's team? 5? 6?

Seems to be a common theme where small dev team spreading themselves too thin to the point where projects takes too long to finish or just stalls completely.

Pretty long read regarding the situation of the team and the projects.

"I spent 10,000 USD out of pocket on marketing last year ... However, no matter what we did our growth in general stagnated" This is... absolutely idiotic. Yeah, you haven't seen any growth, BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN RELEASING CONTENT. No one gives a fuck about your marketing if you aren't releasing jack all or showing decent progression in work. "hey, Cres finished a pose!" after three months isn't decent progress. Holy shit, Wolfenstahl.

"The funds we get via all the support on Patreon are simply not enough to fund a team of our size and all Patreon funding goes into DB RPG - Operation Thunderfang." So if the patreon number they have on their page is accurate ($3,940) for the AFTER patreon cut amount, with a team of 6 people, that comes out to $656.67 before taxes per person. Livable, but only just, if you live somewhere cheap outside a high density population location. This seems accurate, at least. However...

"You see, I payed Dark Alley Elf (13,000 USD) and the upcoming Deathblight Guilty Raid (40,000 USD) out of my own pocket." and, "I only made 50% back in sale (Dark Alley Elf)" ....See above. One level that has less variation let alone gameplay available than a single level of Iji, that you gotta traverse eight times with that minimal gameplay just to showcase all of, what is it, three pieces of Cres' admittedly great art (no, I don't consider variations of an image to be a whole other piece), with only a single music loop, isn't anywhere near enough to sell well. And, $13K for that? Yeah, no. Even if you paid Cres really well for the artwork, it wouldn't cost that to produce unless you drastically overpaid on everything, charged yourself like $200 a word (hyperbole, but still), or are justifying that cost by saying the costs for keeping the entire team employed for the whole time, even if they weren't involved.

TLDR; STOP FAFFING ABOUT AND MAKE SOME ACTUAL CONTENT.

Perhaps instead of spending 10 K in marketing for games that everyone that is into that niche already has or has seen, or lamenting the paid for webcomic in an age where free comics are flooding the internet, and trying to figure things out by patreon pay.... make a poll and see what people actually want. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't give a damn about the RPG. Half-baked rpg-maker games are a dime a dozen, and making one of quality to stand out is really not in this teams reach.
The most traffic and hype they got was when they were planning and making the platformer after paperheads (not the dark elf one, but what the deathblight rpg was orginally going to be). then a small resurgance at demon hunter. Then no one gave a crap about anything after once that fell through too.

Yea, $13k for Dark Alley Elf is just incredible levels of financial mismanagement or bullshit. I started following this team since Paperheads, when it was just Cres and Wolfenstahl. Paperheads and Last Demon Hunter will probably be the only things they finish. Anybody remember Geisterhand? At least we got a demo of that, but there were other games teased that never even got that. A lot of games, we got artwork, then...nothing. I've always been hesitant to support them because of this. Then there was this incredibly long hiatus without an update. This game has some neat ideas going for it and I'm a fan of Cres's art, so I'm not dissing what they've already got, and if it's ever released as a finished game, I'd buy it, but they need to finish their games and push content to gain attention as content creators. They're already getting a lot more money than most porn game devs

The Combat Photos reminded me of another game. It's 2 fully 3D Heroines in a RPG demo and you have to fight you way out of a sewer, while avoiding/fighting insect monsters and robots. Does anyone remember the name of that one cause it's really bugging me now?

Might be Paperheads (though that's much more humans with bags on their heads for enemies) by the same dev. It should still be on their blog for free IIRC.

I know what he's talking about, it's this crappy RPGMaker game but the models are 3d. it's very stylised and it's gone rogue with no updates for like a year or two. It's set in a space-ship though, and it's western

Wait a second, I remember this game, I played it a few years ago and it had practically no content at all. I thought it was dead, is it worth downloading now?

Amariithynar I loved Iji so if that was an insult towards it you will have to fite me.

Fuck no it's not. I absolutely adore Iji. The point I was making is that Iji was made by Remar, on his own, in his spare time. And even the most bare-bones level in Iji has more content than Dark Alley Elf does in its entirety. If you download it you even can openly see the way that the CGs are made is by having blanks that then have minor layer edits overlayed on top of them (normally this is done with a bit more variance, and baked in; they didn't even do that, and have the lips/nips/cocks/cum as just individual bits that get stuck on like Pin The Tail On The Donkey).

Wolfenstahl and Crescentia working together was a pretty damn good team, because they just focused on getting stuff made. Wolfen, however, seems to have NEGATIVE leadership and financial capabilities, and it's shown with how as the team's grown, he's been able to produce less and less work. I mean, hell, he said that Guilty Raid is pretty much done, except for the writing.

They have a very long history of promising a lot, but producing very little (aside from Cres' artwork). It's such a shame, too, because we can all see the potential they have.
