i don't get it what was patrons problem with the game there are alot of games like that on patron i did not see nothing bad about it. but there are other way's to make money. but i still don't see why patron stoped the game if it had the right tag's.mybe patron is just a shitty compiony tring to say what they thing should be made but i don't know there palicy.

I explained this earlier in the thread, but it's a lot of pressure on patreon from paypal. Paypal is (for whatever reason) very against a lot of adult content, and put a lot of pressure onto patreon to start removing or censuring various campaigns on their site. There's also just the fact that at a service grows and gets more popular they want to appeal to the general public, or at least what people want to admit to in public. Since explicit content in general, and more extreme content in particular, don't fall under that they get thrown under the bus so the company can grow.

This started a few years ago with de-listing adult patreons for search results and the like, and has gradually increased to outright banning or removing patreons that have more extreme adult content. And honestly, it's likely to continue to almost all adult content patreons regardless of what that content is.

Man Paypal and other payment providers tend to stay away from the adult industry because of the frequency of chargebacks.

It's not about them trying to impose anti-porn values, just part of the policy.

I'm really confused as to what the actual status of this game is. The makers are fairly active on twitter and she seems to have regular drawing streams but it feels more like the focus goes into the multitude of webcomics... of which I have completely lost count of now.

I'm pretty sure that was the problem; way too many things to manage, on top of Patreon's increasingly draconian attitude towards lewd content and the tumblr porn ban, ended up impairing their productivity and income.

So, they started with a webcomic and some other games games which were mostly abandoned (I don't know which was first, but I think it was the webcomics / drawings from the setting.) They started their patreon on the back of the webcomic and higher quality art pack downloads. This game was added onto the patreon (may have been a milestone goal, again don't remember that detail). The game got a lot more attention for the patreon, but has since been abandoned because of patreon cracking down on the type of content and games development not being the preferred focus of the author (note that the games development is just my thoughts based on how they've acted and what they've said in posts). They've always cared more about the webcomics and art than game development, so the game got cut completely when they basically had to switch to subscribestar.

And yeah, they've shown a really bad case of splitting focus between so many projects that none of them get completed or consistent updates.

As far as I am aware the artist (crescentia) really just does, art/webcomic, and the 'managerial' tasks are handled by others in the group. So in that regards, it's not surprising to have a scenario where the artist is able to create content at a meaningful pace, but a bottleneck exists elsewhere with regards to implementing said art in the context of a game.

Damn shame.

They started with 2 games, one was finished, one was abandoned, then started up a webcomic, then teased this game, made a different free prototype game, started putting out a few demos for this game, then made another game off the free prototype game, at some point, were commissioned to do another game on steam, and at some other point, started a sfw comic

Read post 536, which is a copy paste of their statement on it. The TLDR is that there will be 1 last update and then nothing more. So it's technically not abandoned yet, but is for all intents and purposes dead.
